3DS Max won't, Blender will with a plugin (site was up a few days ago...). The functionality isn't perfect though, I recommend just using the .3ds files that mormegil posted over at the library . Edit: (Psuedo double-post. The forum isn't letting me edit the above one. This wasn't supposed to be a new post...)

Again, check the Foreign Policy window, it shows the factors that influence how the AI think of you. It may be your ethical alignment, it may be that you have a weak military or ecomony and they think you'll be easy prey, it may be that they don't like your transports hanging around, they may not like how much of the galaxy or their territory your influence is spread across, etc.

Oh i know, just posted out of fury for my hatred of the recent super ligitory culture we live in. Want to eat a lollypop? Nope sorry cant call it a lollypop thats been trademarked. Want to borrow my copy of X-com? nope dont want to get sued by Atari. Sorry im being an A-hole, but we teach our kids to share and be nice,

Trade, then conquer. I actually had one set up a couple of influence starbases in my territory once (do they even have influence?), and rushed a constructor to a resource before I could.

Orbital fleet control is from the Planetary Defense tech, or one along that line. To get the ships in orbit out of orbit, just click on the planet, click the ship's icon, and click Launch Ship. OR, double click it. OR right right click the blue icon on the right hand of the screen that appears after a new ship is built. Unless you mean how you get enemy ships out, in which case you just attack the planet with a ship that has some attack ability.

I personally think it'd be nice if you can set an option to allow them expand like the majors do. It'd certainly make things more interesting at the very least. They don't play by the same rules as the majors though (ie. influence, UP), so it would get pretty odd. The minors created

Place ships on top of one another (stack them). Then click on the stack, and you will still multiple ship icons at the bottom part of the screen. Highlight (click on) the icons corresponding to the ships that you want to be in the fleet, and click the "Create Fleet" button, which should be right above the ship icons.

It will reinstall, you need to aquire a special key or something of some sort from support, however. If this thing is computer-specific (the key needed changes with each computer, ala. Windows XP), I would be concerned, but then I'd have no qualms with going onto the piracy channels and finding a download of the CD version.

Actually this is the worst review yet, they do give half stars too it seems, so they gave it a 80 out of 100 which is lower then most other reviews who rate it at 90 or higher... Uggh. The rating system that most sites use is idiotic. That 70%, out of a scale from 0-100, should be considered med

what does 3D-Analyze do and how can it help me? It does some crazy software emulation of the more advanced 3d effects that your card can't support. It may increase the quality substantially (unless the CPU can't keep up with it, but apparently it's quite optimized).

So then, question: What is the highlighted circle on starbases for? I assume that's the area in which they can help ships, but doesn't that only apply to military bases, not mining ones? Probably just a mistake made because of the code shared for the starbases. I havn't seen any difference at a

I've looked, couldn't find anything. There is a .X importer plug-in for Blender, but it's not perfect. You could go from that, export to 3ds, and open it in Max for extra fun.

My framerate doesn't go above 60, it looks to be locked to the vertical refresh rate of the monitor (vsync'd). It does heat up the computer (bad case), but not any more than Half-Life 2 does. I like the smooth framerate, I'd hate to see any cap below that being hardcoded.

My first win was culture, and it wasn't that hard. My second win nearly went that way as well, but I declared war on the remaining civs when I saw the 10 Turn warning, and got the military victory one turn away from winning culturally. Both times I was mining influence resources, though.
