I know I can't give you a complete answer to what you're asking, Jerry, and to be honest, I debated whether to even comment on this thread until I saw the last paragraph of this post: Ultimately it comes down to the artists themselves, would they want the extra burden of more icons in their sets, do they see the need strongly enough to contribute? </TABL

Did you actually read that before you wrote it? Did you actually read that AFTER you wrote it? I agree with the thought behind it, though...lol
Happy Birthday, werewolf! Hope you had a great day...
Awwwwwwwwww shucks...
RN2004 , Your thoughtful, clear, concise, and tactfully-worded message is fair, reasonable, and contains some sound advice. I know I have been guilty on occasion of letting some frustration show in my responses. I'll try to take your message to heart. In defense of many of the regulars here who give a great deal of their time and energy to answer the questions of the novice and less-experienced, I'd like to point out that a great many of those who post here neither do the researc
Can't address Object Dock or Yz dock, as I don't use them, but you could make a launch "dock" for one or two sides (if they are adjacent) to launch apps, explorer, folders,or url's, and have some media player controls for winamp, and monitor/access task manager, email, and recycle bin using Sysmetrix.
As a young man, I was reminded by someone I respect that I have two eyes and two ears and only one mouth, and therefore I should observe and listen twice as much as I speak. It always seemed like logical and sound advice, and I've tried to follow it. Unfortunately for many of us, some people who now "speak" via keyboard have realized they have ten fingers... /me would leave a message f
I have been having the exact same problem, and for me it started right after updating to the WB 4.20a[b].002 build through SDC. I have tried the same things as Esmond and cannot seem to fix it. I have rolled back to the last non-beta release, tried all kinds of combinations of uninstalling and reinstalling, and tried the suggestions here of dropshadow and Windows FX, and no matter what I do, I can't get rid of that ugly box behind the text. Even worse, the transparency masks for many of my ico
I'm already on record on the message boards promoting a new section for Rainlendar. While I would never compare skinning Rainy's to most of the other programs, the latest release of Rainlendar is making it more useful and IMHO more fun to skin with the To Do list, Event profiles, better support for Event icons, etc. And I believe that most of us don't consider a suite complete without a Rainy or Desktop X calendar. And even a lot of those who like Desktop X still want to have a Rainy... <
Good luck with the move, Kona... see you when you get settled...
WHAT?????...only 'nearly'?..... Sorry... I'm still a bit shaken by the fellated ego image, I guess...
Jafo... my admiration for your judgement and speed is nearly boundless.
There probably should be a catch-all library section, the only problem is with it being there It occurred to me as I read this post by IP that people are already turning the graphics section into a catchall. Some, I think, to good purpose, like those who have posted sets of user pics that go with their themes, or partial skins, etc that someone
Nuts... it looks great and can't wait to see more. Best of luck!
dune2996, I am not about to hijack this thread with an argument with you. If you have something to discuss with me, my email is posted. dabe, I wish you luck, and take it for what it's worth, ask around, but I personally would be careful about from whom I take advice. Free advice is often worth exactly what you pay for it. Including mine. Good luck.
Good on ya, Jafo. Keep up the good work, sir.
dabe, if he is willing to help you, which appears to be the case, listen to yrag. I'm going to back off now, because while I am not afraid to tackle things on my own computer, I don't feel qualified to talk someone else through solving problems on their system. Good luck and I hope you can get it fixed.
Please do not do anything to your registry. No offense intended, but if you don't know what svchost.exe is, you should not be playing in your registry where you can do critical damage to your computer. By the way, svchost.exe is a generic name for services which run from dynamic linked libraries (.dll) and you will find multiple instances of it running frequently when running programs under windows. dune2996... please think a little longer before posting. Please. [Message Edited]
I'm not sure I want the image of Jafo doing that to BoXXi's ego in my head... Good point, grayhaze. Jafo??
Name it "Pot Luck" the most feared response that is heard around the globe to the question "Honey, what's for dinner?" Actually, the answer I fear most to that question is "Reservation$" <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/jokegrim.gi
