There is a tech to let you build them though I think.

Didn't read most of the thread but I did read the pictured article. Brad that's just brilliant. MMO's need more players like your son.
Reintroducing class 1's would be good imo. I like to see both good and poor worlds, it makes the good ones look good.
Ok so there's a new system. And you've avoided giving any hints until now that there was going to be one. Damn you sneaky dev's!
GC1 had icons like that, I'm guessing they just aren't in GC2 yet.
I'd prefer them to be numbered I II III etc rather than give them names like 'ulitimate'. Guess it's a preference thing. Also, if they're numbered we can bully Stardock into adding higher numbered techs post release to extend the tech tree. If there's an Ultimate Planetary defence they can argue that you just can't top Ultimate. P.S. I may or may not be j
I don't see any reason to remove low PQ planets, but the AI's selection process probably needs some work.
Hmmm. Certainly agree on researching weapon theory before accessing defence theory. I'm not so sure about researching the weapon before the counter defence. If the Korx attack me with those strange missile things (what a bizzarre concept) I'd look into ways of countering but I wouldn't necessarily try to make my own missiles. Nothing at all wrong with my lasers afterall!
Have you noticed that you can use the small up/down arrows and X icons just above-right of the build queue to change build order and delete? Wasn't very clear to me either at first.
As Darth Kryo says, the lines are not borders. They mark your political power. They are intended for cultural strategies rather than military. There is a thread from a couple of weeks ago where we were discussing the idea of having both where a secondary smaller area close to your planets (say have the influence area) becomes claimed territory, it might happen yet, who knows. On the point of the tiny marginal planets. Have you considered that there is no reason that compels you to
To upgrade a starbase send another constructor to it. When it arrives you get an option to upgrade with a module. The more constructors you use on it the bigger and better it gets.
I think guard makes your ships sit there until they die or you give new orders while sentry means they sit there until something flies past them at which point they leave sentry mode. Theyre both functions to stop ships you dont want o give orders to cropping up every turn.
I've had a couple of cases where the invader has lost. But the attacker does seem to have an overwhelming edge atm.
1) I really dont think its been balanced yet. 2) Seems not. It's a shame but I guess the budget only goes so far. If anything is yet to come its not been announced.
I'm loving the Drengin ship style. The fleet battles are looking good, it's doing what I expected it to do and the combat is proving to be less predictable than I feared, my Drengins pulled off some surprising wins when I thought I was going to be pulped. Unfortunately they couldnt fight the entire galaxy single handed so they died out. Oh well they died guns blazing and gave better than they got I think. <img
I do agree (with PC, Lowa's gone off on one), the Miniballs effect doesn't look right. It would be better if they just traveled in a straight line side by side, the big swoopy thing doesn't look right. Lasers are looking nice though.
I'm really enjoying myself at the moment. My Drengin have crawled off their mudball into the great big black and are finding no-one else likes them. Combats are looking promising, I sent a fighter squadron up against a starbase and it was quite satisfying to watch them dance around it. I'm loving the way trade routes are marked out, clear but not intrusive. Research screen feels much better too. I think the auto-upgrading buildings is working well, its stre
On the shipyard screen, go to the extra's tab. (I'm talking about hull components not modules) I can see the human components and the 'Torian' components as normal. Underneath those I see a list of black boxes. Those blacked out images are actually the Drengin style components but you cant see them until you select them and see what appears in the ship model window. If I add one to my ship the component doesn't show up on the fitted bar below the model screen either, again
Well that explains why on my current game I keep coming top. Wasn't sure why but I think you're right. And yeah, its not going too well for the Drengin, apparently Lord Ugleb isn't delivering that promised golden age, but he is having fun.
Oh god not the turn bug again. You might find that it becomes more frequent as the game goes on, keep an eye out.
That worked for me. It did ask to install a newer version of SDC following the reinstall but I hit no. I'm guessing that would have reinstalled the dodgy 97 build or something.
It's clobbering me too, I'm guessing its the same 0kb file issue that b4 had when it first went up as it looks identical.
I open stardock....NOTHING where the heck is it? Under the games tab, at the bottom there is a check box for 'show pre-release versions' - make sure that's checked.
Atm there's some techie problems going on with the Stardock servers, be patient and expect some errors.
We're collecting a nice set of trolls in here atm. Come on in so we can poke you.
