This might be the MOST useful now that I think about it. At any point, I could save the game, "swap" to a race I've been watching, and get to see exactly what the state of their empire is, then reload the game from before the swap and just keep playing. This would give me total visibility into any AI player. You know that might be a quite popul

At the moment there is no tactical withdrawal feature, fights are to the death. It's been suggested before though so you never know, it may yet happen. One previous suggestion was to link it to crew experience levels, a more experienced crew having a higher chance to escape than a rookie crew, who would basically be dead meat.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo (cut for word count) Better to wait play on a build that doesn't crash out constantly, even if it does mean I have to keep my curiosity in check another week. Good luck Stardock, sounds like its going to be another long week for you.

ALLY nice Pics but i noticed:What about the dregin? what is your intentions for them? i like the dregin because they normally become my freinds in GC1 because i "For some Reason" turned Pure Evil and, The arcean surrendered to me and gave me a HUGE advantage i then gained "Temporary" control over the most powerfull military in the game! It was short-lived however and eith

I have wondered if its a major feature for an expansion pack, but then it would drastically alter gameplay. Might work, might not. I'm talking about racial habitats btw.

Take a look at this dev journal if you haven't already, it talks a bit about this. Link In terms of the "desirable habitats" GC2 does not draw any distinctions and assumes that all races basically want the same sort of worlds. There reasons for it such as promoting competition for the best worlds so its not just a 'we cant afford to develop that' thing. Systems like that require the AI to react

Yes, that is exactly what I had in mind. Shouldn't be that difficult from a coding standpoint. Could make the game really interesting. Some continuity of alignment should be preserved if possible. Totally agree with you, it would make for a nice galactic event/progression.

Pascal...the probable reason why no one has commented is because the diplomatic portion of the game hasn't been functional yet. According to Stardock it will be in Beta 4. That and I didn't log in yesterday. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class=

How about having an option to start the game with a couple of "mystery" major races? These races would start off as minors, but if they exceed a certain power threshold they are revealed as being a major race and all the full diplomacy options are enabled and the special abilities assumed. Sounds interesting but I imagine its a bit late in deve

What is the point of planetary defenses then if the enemy can just bomb the crap out of them? Atm planetary defences haven't been added to GC2, although there were mumblings from stardock about having ideas for them.

What Darth Kryo said, Spin Control means the owner can bluff that he has a much larger military than he really does and so avoid being attacked. If he still gets attacked then hes no better off than if he didn't own it.
