Yup its actually a debugging feature Stardock use. Not sure if its going to stay in beta 4 or not but they'll turn it off before release.

I imagine they'll want us to stick to the 1 issue per thread format we've been using since beta 1. Putting multiple bugs in one big thread makes it hard to track down specific points and stuff gets lost.

Previous builds have been released around 5.00-7.00pm USA time (I forget which timezone exactly) so for us in europe we're looking at around 10pm area.

I believe that you should research the technology to allow you to build anything, I my opinion you should be able to start with the spaceport and then start developing your technology and then you choose what path you want to follow. It's very close to that already, you only have the most basic of technologies at your disposal. You have no wea

Hell that was a good answer, that possibility hadn't occured to me! But as you say, I haven't actually seen it happen either so you're probably right about bonuses being applied post-colonisation.

/me gibbers /me pulls himself together You get 'promoted' by giving useful feedback on features and bug hunting, as well as your community contribution. Who gets promoted is done entirely on Stardock discretion, you don't earn 'points' by posting in every thread or anything like that, in fact spamming will make yourself less likely to be promoted. /me returns to gibbering

What's all this argument of races about? I stopped reading anything where the words 'assimiliation' and 'borg' appear in the same post. You aren't alone in your bemusement.

Going off all the previous stuff, it is intended that a full fleet of tiny hulls is equal to a full fleet of huge hulls. The winner will be decided by your weapons and defenses vs theirs, not by who brought the biggest ships. It's going to hinge on balancing for sure.

If you've already placed your pre-order I'd imagine that you've been charged already. If you were planning to buy when beta 4 rolls out (on thursday) I'd avoid waiting too long as Stardock will likely close beta access again after a week or three.

Well game balancing is meant to start in beta 4 as the previous beta's were technically technology tests. Miniaturisation tech makes modules smaller. More advanced engines get smaller and cheaper, to make the ship go faster you add more engines. That's intentional, not a bug. Can't remember now but there might actually be some faster engines near the end of the tech tree, but I'm not sure. I've only played a couple of ga
