Another piece of this: I saw a hospital bill a few years ago for about $250,000 gross. The patient belonged to an HMO. The HMO dissallowed about half of the hospital bill, paid their part of the remaining $125,000, and the insured paid their part of that same $125,000, and everybody was happy. I'm betting that the number of active Impulse installations divided by (the number of Active Object Desktop subscriptions + Active Game Network installations) or something like that would give a completely different "now using Impulse" percentage. Don't know about meditation but how about distraction? I swear the more a person worries about this stuff the worse it gets, it's like trying to dig yourself out of a hole. I try to enjoy what works and either tinker with the stuff that doesn't for fun or just zap it. Life's too short and there are wayyy bigger fish to fry. Sometimes the best thing to do is just pry my fat a** out of the chair and go do soemthing constructive - seem to get a lot more done that way :LOL:

If you're trying to load it under a Limited Logon, try loading one under an Administrative logon and see if it works. Also, you should see the new MyColors WB themes listed in your regular WB Configuration window, try loading one of the new WB's from there.

Ya it hasn't been updated to work with some of the updates to other pieces. I saw several posts about it a few months back, I'm not going to bother to look them back up. Anyway, the jist of it is, Stardock knows it needs updated and has firmly said they're not going to abandon it. As for when, well things happen when they happen (not saying that with any spin either way, that's just the way it is). So there's hope.

Maybe you could download the free version of Object Dock and the trial of Windowblinds and see how they work for you now? Disable internet and antivirus before installing, reboot before and after installing each. I agree with everyone else that it shouldn't be a problem (unless maybe you're really weak in the graphics card department?).

Messiah- I really appreciate all those dock backgrounds you and WebGizmos crank out. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if they worked OD into the plan somehow as well. :) And of course I really appreciate all the skins all you folks crank out. Doesn't get said often enough, here's probably as good a time as any. I've tried my hand at it, I know it's a lot of work to make anything original and decent.

Seems like some of the changes don't really take effect until after you "Apply My Changes", then log off or reboot. "Apply My Changes" then unload WB, re-load WB might work too. No promises on that, but I'm pretty sure I've played with the fonts before and thought "well I guess that's as good as it's going to get", but then after I've shut down / re-started I've seen changes more in line with what I'd been expecting. You might give that a try.

Unfortunately the only thing I know of for sure is the Admin / Limited user thing. I do see other posts of people having trouble with it, but I don't see anything regarding how they might have resolved it. Did see one post where McAffee Antivirus was blocking an Object Dock installation, so if you want you might try temporarily disabling your Internet connection and antivirus just to see if you can create a systray then, but it seems like a long shot. It should work if you are using a login with Administrator rights. Won't work if you're using a limited user login unless you start up Object Dock by using the right click "run as" option and use an Admin login and password there.

Argh, and reading my reply I want to be clear about something: Even if you create a systray dock under the Admin login and move it over to the Ltd user docs, the systray still will not run for the ltd user without atarting up Object Dock using "Run as" Admin at least once within the ltd user's current session. The systray should work if you are logging in as an Administrator. If you are logging in as a limited user, it should work if you start up Object Dock using the "Run As" command using an administrator login (and their might be a better way to accomplish that under XP Pro, I don't know).
