I wish I was there too! It snowed again today :(
I know it's just a figure of speech, but "jumped ship" just doesn't seem applicable to a 9 month pregnant woman
I would agree except for the fact that she blogged right up until having her last baby. No one would think twice if I disappeared for a couple of months ;) Thanks for the Brandie update LW.
I was thinking about Brandie today and noticed she hasn't been seen around here in about a month. I know she's getting pretty close to baby time. Does anyone know how she's doing?
Ditto to what Tova said. That alone is enough but the money and weather woes are just over the top. I can only hope that you know that there are good things ahead for you even though it sure doesn't seem like it at the moment. Have that drink and stay safe until the roads improve. Here's hoping some cheer finds it's way to you ASAP.
The prognosis is 6 months at best.
My heart aches for you and your family. I hope...well, I just hope.
Looks like you have a pretty kooky family ;)
Are you sure she wasn't saying "fisticuffs"?
Yep, that's what she was saying. I didn't know it was an actual word. I just wrote what it sounded like. I obviously knew what it meant though. I still don't know the origin though. Couldn't tell by that definition and it didn't lead to any further info.
I slipped and fell ass over teakettle
My grandma always uses that. I think maybe it could be Irish in nature. My grandma drinks tea a lot and back before microwaves people boiled their water in tea kettles so I think it means you were carrying a tea kettle and flipped bottom up when you fell. That is one I've used and never thought about until now. My grandma always said fist-to-cuffs instead of boxing or fighting too. I think that is an Iri
Yeah, I'm a tool.
Not the way Brad sees it ;)
Early 90s. He had a 1/2 hour show for awhile.
I was probably in college and couldn't afford TV.
(I played for an hour this morning. It was incredible to be at the keys again.)
Good for you! It is so fun!
I dont know the tool one. I have never used it!
My hubby and I disagreed but ended up both being right. I looked up the slang definition and it means either 1) Someone who is easily used by others (Brad's definition) or 2) a dick (my definition).
I had my first lesson last night and loved it! Some of it is coming back. It is so fun to be making music again even if it is really rough right now. I bet I'll perform in a recital come next year!
My husband and I were discussing the meaning of the term "tool" as in "you're being a real tool". I wonder how many people say stuff like that without knowing what the original meaning of the term is. Have you ever said something and then wondered what it was truly supposed to mean? We use all sorts of abbreviations all the time too. I wonder how many people know what RSVP means (probably only those who know French). Everyone uses it and knows that it is asking
It's RUSH Limbaugh. You could at least do a little homework to find out the name of the person you're complaining about. I happen to find Rush very entertaining. I didn't know he was on TV though. I have heard his radio show but not seen him on TV. I think Rush puts himself on a pedestal and makes no bones about it. He is as straight forward as they get. His Ditto heads love him for it. Why does it make you sick? Is it because you don't
Good for you! How exciting
Thanks. I've been waiting for "a good time" but have realized that you just can't wait for things to get easier because they just don't.
I should pick it up again
You really should.
Last Christmas we got our oldest son a nice keyboard because he expressed an interest in learning to play. For whatever reasons (baseball, swim lessons, etc.) we never got going on lessons. That is changing come 11/11! I got a flier in our mailbox about a teacher that will come to your house...how perfect! It turns out our neighbor two doors down takes lessons from her and says she's great. I contacted her and not only are we set to start my son on lessons, I'm
You're not being fair, Jill.
There's that subjective "f" word again.
I'm not surprised but still disappointed. I'm an optimist so I was holding out hope. Hopefully Obama will be able to unite Americans the way he and his followers seem to claim. I just have a sick feeling at the moment. MI going to the Democrat is never surprising but OH really bummed me out [e digicons]:'([/e]
Apprehensive are those who perceive anything bordering on fairness.
Apprehensive if "fairness" means taking from the responsible to give to the irresponsible.
Manaical are republicans when it comes to anyone who might be smarter.
Hope you didn't include yourself in those "smarter"...it's maniacal and you are spelling out the arrogance that non-liberals are sick to death of. Just shut up and vote already! ;) You have as much say as I do.
I'm in the group shot with the polka dot skirt and saddle shoes. Drew's costumes are always sooo wrong!
Peter Griffin from Family Guy...that's an interesting costume. Heh, didn't think they even had those.
He found the mask at Target.
Thanks SanChonino. Ashley loved being a bee. She was buzzing and flying all over the place for days. She really loved Halloween!
Thanks TW. Alex got a lot of compliments on his gut.
