Most scrumptious brains I've ever seen.
why thank you!
They look great and so detailed with the oozing. Yummmy....
Yeah, blue oozing brains. I'm sure the 3rd graders will think "yummy!" :)
ahhhhh like Red State and Blue State? Be interesting which is the most popular... How timely!
I actually didn't even think of that. Ryan just wanted one of each color that we had. So we have red, blue, green, purple and a p
Here are the red and blue jello brains. I think they came out pretty well. I'm done with making brains for now. Happy Halloween!!
Another Young Frankenstein fan!
I LOVE Young Frankenstein! I met Gene Wilder in Horton Bay, MI a Summer long ago. He seemed like quite a character. He's shorter than I thought and has the most incredible blue eyes. We have the movie on DVD and the kids like it too.
Jill if you have a bowl big enough to fit the "brain" mold into, it will help stabilize it while you pour
I figured that out after the first brain but thanks. It certainly is the way to go.
I may look for a mold for next year.
Check Amazon.com. I got mine for $2 and the teacher gave me a second one to use that she got in the store for $6. Either way, it's a pretty cheap, fun Halloween treat. Oh, and it takes 3 small boxes of jello per brain.
This has been a learning experience. The first brain came out to jiggly and cracked. The second one was better and the third one looks great. I reduced the amount of water. It says to prepare according to regular directions but it ended up being far too much liquid. The third one is blue and looks perfect. Two more to go. I haven't had a chance to take any pics yet but will definitely do so before handing them over to the 3rd graders on Friday. <
Sorry about the fridge! I hate when that happens!
I'm a total clutz so if there's a way to make a mess, I usually find it. It looks like the first brain is setting up nicely. One year I did frozen hands. You spray the inside of a latex glove then pin it to hang in your freezer (that part was tricky) and pour whatever color liquid you like in. It turned out really cool and we put it in the couldron we had punch in. Two of the fingers broke of prett
I had the bright idea to volunteer to make jello brains for my son's school Halloween party. I just got a new mold that I figured I'd use for our own Halloween party. I plan to put it on a platter with a place card that says "Abbey- normal". I've never made a jello brain and now I'm signed on to make 4! So you have to prop the mold up in the frig and then pour the jello in. Guess what happened...yep, I spilled purplish red jello all over everything in my frig.&
Then we see very differently. I see a lot of families caring for each other. I see in my own congregation people stepping up with time, food, and money to help each other. But then, I live in a rather small city with a fairly close congregation.
I was talking about the average American household not the families you see in your little congregation. I know far too many people I grew up with in my small home town that moved out of state after college and left their families
We live is a national community with national obligations to our citizens. If you don't believe this is so, I suggest a class in civics...oh, I forgot, we don't teach civics much anymore.
Suggest whatever you like although I don't know what good a civics class would do. We might live in a national community but we also live in the United States. We seem to skip past local and state responsibility these days and go right to the Nanny government. We look to it t
I take it your point, then, is that the poor, the sick, the disabled, the elderly, orphaned or abused and neglected children are a drain on our society? But isn't that the nature of a social contract?
Please tell me why the Federal government should take care of your examples of the needy? Why have we given up on our own local communities taking care of their own? If we don't care enough about our own family and friends, why should anyone else? Does anyone sti

Happy trails! I can't wait to see how you like it and what the new attractions are like. We haven't been there since 2004.
8 months after I quit, I was diagnosed with Hypertension.
Hypertension + caffeine would definitely be a problem. Coffee has never given me jitters. I'm like my dad, we can have a couple of cups of coffee and go straight to bed and fall right asleep. We'd probably slip into a full on coma without our joe :)
Did you have to quit because of health reasons? I know people with heart conditions that had to quit caffeine. I would be a very sad lady without my coffee :( There's a study that says coffee can help prevent type II diabetes and I believe it. I got my coffee drinking "skills" from my dad. He drinks more coffee than anyone I know. He is the only one out of 6 sibs that doesn't have diabetes. So I'm drinking FOR my health ;)
This will be one of my rambling, just feel like writing it down blogs. First off, my coffee grinder died! This is a very big deal. I survive mainly on coffee and have become pretty picky about it. I'm picky about the coarsenss of grind, strength and type of creamer (my current fav is Italian Sweet Cream). I had to resort to pre-ground coffee. It still sure beats no coffee! I woke up with what I wouldn't call pain but more discomfort with two of my
I am a stay-at-home mom. I personally think that whatever leads you to raising a family isn't a waste. If nothing else, college gives you more life experiences and a better sense of who you are. I think that a college degree also lasts as a woman's option to get a job if need or want be at any point. I often wonder how many women of my mom's generation stayed in an unhappy marriage simply because they felt trapped. What else could they do after having no college
How did it go?
Wow. See, that's the kind of guy I want on my side keeping the bad guys away from our soil. Thanks for sharing this. It is really irritating how many people refer to the men and women over there as "kids" and portray them as just not knowing any better or that they were duped by the government. I'm thankful every day for men and women like Steve. Their bravery is simply something most don't understand. Unfortunately there are growing numbers of Americans tha
has it come to this?
Has it come to what?
Sodaiho, I appreciate your apology. Hypocrisy is a big pet peeve of mine. My problem with your article and the whole deal of the media pouncing on "Joe" is this, does this really encourage free speech? Does this encourage or discourage people from asking candidates questions when they get the chance? To me it totally discourages. Why would you open your mouth if you know you are going to get persecuted as a result? "Joe" said he is "hoping" to buy th
Hi Righties, You guys on the right are like that,
Weren't you just accusing me of polarizing? I Pot, my name is Kettle. Sodaiho, you hide behind your "Be Well" like you are some kind of enlightened, wise, spiritual person. What you say in your articles and comments speaks quite to the contrary.
Jill mentioned that they did this at the beginning, going without many things in order to build the business. Why not do the same now in order to not only preserve what you've already built? These aren't strangers we're talking about...they're dedicated employess without whose help you wouldn't be in the position to be enjoying these luxuries in the first place.
You have a lot of advice and very little knowledge on this particular subject. We are very loyal people.
