People never know exactly how they will deal with something until they are faced with it. I am pretty sure I would have a period of feeling sorry for myself in your position but hope I would overcome it. I am truly fortunate that I have only had minor health problems in my life. Well JeremyG, my turtle and frog have never peed on my carpet or clawed up my furniture so I will have to disagree. I would have to say the turtle is hands down the lowest maintenance pet.
