I'm totally with KarmaGirl on this one. It is entertaining to hear theories like this though. I generally think it is fun to imagine the faces and lives of the characters on the site. I have some faces given to names of course but it is also fun to let the old noggin take you on an adventure. I really enjoy imagining the crew of the Scurvy Buttercup I do think you are in a wa

When the title included "Adult Slumber Parties" I thought it was about a new home party that women go to to buy sex toys and related products. A friend of mine had one a while back. Pretty crazy stuff! I am okay with the fact that I am now a happily married woman with children. My days of slumber parties are over. I never did experience naked twister but I am okay with that one too <img src="../images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi

How could science possibly disprove it? I don't see anything short of Jesus returning that would prove or disprove anything.

One more thing, no mathematician or scientist of any kind will ever come up with a equation to convince someone they should believe God exists. Either you are open to existance or not. It is a conclusion that comes from within.

dharmagrl, here is what I think : Many who believe tend to have an undescribable feeling in their hearts which we call faith. Faith can't be forced even if you are threatened with damnation. If you don't believe in your heart that there is a God and there is a Hell, damnation really isn't a threat. Taking the leap to say that you have to be Christian or fear damnation is another thing that I don't think can be forced. Believing that Jesus wa

I think if they could find a legal way of preventing people from having children, they would already be doing it. The whole birth control issue is another one of those religious, moral issues that the law has a hard time justifying. I personally think you have to be sick in the head to harm any child but especially so to do it to your own.

jeb, I have never seen Brad even elude to not wanting to assist the needy. I don't think anyone here has. I just think we are all fed up with both the way the assistance is distributed and the mindset of those who abuse the help.

Just heard this and thought it was good enough to pass along: My husband decided he was fed up with my mood swings so he thought it would be clever to get me a mood ring for Christmas so he could tell what mood I was in. When I am in a good mood, the ring turns green. When I am in a bad mood, the ring leaves a red mark on my husband's head. Maybe next year the jerk will get

I feel a bit more secure about leaving our defense budget in the hands of US Congress than in the hands of a 20something yr old Australian thank you very much I am also not arrogant enough to propose that I know how to spend the defense budget in any better way. I will therefore decline the offer to write such a blog. I am skeptical that we could direct a significant amount toward pove

Ah, showing what Americans suspect all the time. On one thread you complain about the US, call us a bully and say that Al Qaeda should stick to bombing the US rather than pick on Spain or anyone else. On here you expect the US to watch your back while you put all your money toward fixing your problems with poverty. Could the US get the same deal in return? Not bloody likely! We go and put our military budget toward anything else and we're sticking

Good article! I heard about that case and felt sick. I look at my 3yr old and can't fathom how anyone could hurt him. He is a stinker at times but he is a baby. He is learning. Like you said, my kids didn't ask to be brought into this world.

NickyG, I think it is good for people to hear the way other people see things. I think everyone has an issue or two that they hold dear to their hearts and get defensive about. I think perception needs to be taken into account whether it is accurate or not.

Don, I don't follow your example with sports stadiums. Is "public money" the same as tax money ? I keep hearing about tax shelters for businesses. I have been a failure at finding them for our business. We even pay a CPA to find them but to no avail. I don't see the tax law perks for the rich so I disagree personally that they are more flagrant since I have seen first hand many abuses from the other end. When will the rich be paying enough in tax

My family has a history with obesity and type II diabetes. It is an appealing thing to blame your problems on others. When asked why I have a weight problem, I could blame it on genetics. Tests of my metabolism would back that up. Why do I really have a weight problem? I eat too much and don't exercise enough. I do have to work harder at losing weight than others but it is my decision whether or not to do it. I have decided it is worth it to do

I don't know about cars or cats but I do know I got smoke smell out of a leather jacket with the following: 1 part white vinegar 2 parts linseed oil shake together in a jar, apply with soft cloth and let sit for 8-12hrs then buff with clean cloth. The vinegar removes odor and the two together help clean and condition the leather. Hope that helps!

I can't/won't give up coffee. I tried black but can only handle it if it is flavored coffee. dharmagrl, 40lbs?! That is fantastic! That is about what I need to lose. I am sticking with it. I am not thinking of it as a diet because I know I can never "go off it" or I will be destined to fit in my fat pants again. Been there, done that. jmp, sounds like you have one healthy lifestyle! Eve your treat of choice is healthy since

Dynosoar, I think that some people hate Bush so much they would vote for the elephant man if need be. Ignorance is Blix, that is the flip flopping I was talking about. I don't mind a politician changing his mind as new information unfolds or changing with the times. I mind when a politician states things purely for political gain. Anyone who doesn't see Kerry doing that is being duped. AS for the people who think $200,000 is being

I thought I would share this with my fellow carboholics. I recently changed my way of eating drastically. I am a person that loves a cup of coffee and something sweet for breakfast. Not a big breakfast eater. The thought of eggs for breakfast didn't sound great to me but when I was told that up to 6 eggs a week was quite healthy and if I ate an egg for breakfast I would find I was less hungry and would burn more fat and less muscle, I figured I would try it out. I alternate an

I just got through it myself. Drained, achy, feverish, can't keep anything down, stomach feels raw, sound familiar? It took about 3 days of Sprite and dry toast before I could start eating regular food again. I got it from my own "plague bags" Hope you are feeling well in a jiffy.

NickyG, what would it serve a person to tell me their family recieved cars if they didn't? This wasn't my conclusion, it was something I was told by a group on a bus that I was taking to a doctor appt in college. I was talking to a group that lived on the reserve. I asked why they thought there were so many cars dumped all over the yards. That is what they told me. Maybe it was a state initiative since the reserve was such a distance from anywhere

It only took one blow didn't it? I heard Poland offered to send troops to replace the Spanish troops. What is Spain thinking?! They are jumping right into Al Qaeda's net. I am truly glad the US didn't react that way to 9/11.
