I buy the set-up theory a lot more than his explaination that he is just for people's freedom to be heard. I have heard him speak over others on TV plenty of times and I would bet good money that he wouldn't do the same to a heckler at a pro-Bush rally. Had to have been a publicity stunt.

Saddam in Mayberry, too funny!
Too funny! He said that prison food was better than most nursing homes. I believe that. Probably cheaper for tax payers. We get a 2 for 1. Pay for prison care and medicare in one swoop.
Zergimmi, I wasn't saying that cooking your food could protect you from mad cow. That is why I said hope for the best. Weird diseases are likely to keep surfacing as long as we feed animals to themselves. Why feed beef to cows or pigs or chickens? What an idiotic way to try to save money! I'm just glad noone has ever gotten a disease from chocolate
No, just wondered because we only used the crib for naps until the boys were 4 or 5 months old. We were cosleepers. I know, a lot of people think that is so dangerous but we were very careful and had those side supports, made sure no pillows or covers were near their heads, etc. It was nice. Didn't mean to make you feel judged. To be honest, my concern was about the cord to the monitor. What a beautiful little guy! Almost makes me want t
Mine is "Don't jog, blog" because I don't have cartiledge in my knees so I would be having knee replacement surgery if I jogged. Really, I am not saying you shouldn't exercise, I am just saying blogging is better ;) Maybe the best thing would be to get one of those little pedalling machines where you could pedal along while blogging! Thanks for the comments. Wahkonta, 3:30AM?! You need help! ;)
I enjoy blogging as both a journal and an interaction with an international group. I have found that I am learning much more than I ever anticipated. My husband even mentioned that he thinks I have been more witty, quick witted and have a larger vocabulary lately. I credit JoeUser with that. I think that just as you need to condition your body, you need to exercise your brain. It is so easy to get into a mental slump when you are home all day with a 3yr old. Some weeks I barely int
Zergimmi, please share your sources with me. I have done extensive reading from a dozen sources and am yet to find one that sites any birth defects or cancer in humans. There are studies that say that it might be linked to breast cancer as Soitair said but there are just as many if not more that say the same about caffiene. One thing about DDT as with every substance on Earth, it is the amount used that makes a difference and how and where i
Two things: 1) I can totally sympathize about the shower. I hate low pressure in the shower! That is one thing my hubby and I have always been sticklers about. 2) Be careful of battery operated mobiles. We had one and it got recalled because babies had gotten burns from battery leakage. The one we had had the battery in a compartment that was overhead. Looks like yours might be on the side which I am sure is much safer. Just tho
If you tried to make something legal for only those who own their own homes, you would have so many people crying discrimination that the idea wouldn't get off the ground. I just don't see any way of regulating it. I don't dispute the fact that alcohol and cigarettes cause a lot of harm. They tried outlawing alcohol here in the US. It didn't work out too well but I would sooner be in favor of outlawing alcohol and cigarettes than for legalizing LS
Imajinit, the world needs more people who share in your philosophy. Thanks for the great comments everyone!
I am with you Poi Dog. We have the same book by Bill Bryson. I believe it could blow at any time. I don't think I could dwell on that any more than the fact that I could get struck by lightening, have a stroke, get hit by a car, etc. You just can't live in fear of things you can't control. There is no way anyone can do a darn thing about that volcano. Does your Dr tell you every time you see him that you could possibly have a stroke at any time no matter what your age, BP or any
Junkscience.com has some good info regarding DDT. It was proven that DDT was not a carcinogen as was originally feared due to the claims of a couple of books in the 60s. They never even proved that it had an effect on eggshell thinning. We have the EPA to thank for the ban on DDT. I don't think we should give up on DDT. Just look at all of the diseases spread by mosquitoes. I have a bigger fear of getting some nasty disease than from po
I just tend to go on google and search. For example, I looked up Portabella Marsala the other night and it was pretty tasty. You can look up asian recipes, italian cooking, etc. Campbells has some good recipes for quick dinners using their soups. I often print out my favorits and keep them in a 3 ring binder. Good luck and happy cooking
I never said anything about the Bible. I think that if you weren't Christian, you wouldn't consider the Bible as a history book. Saying that it was inspired by God and therefore true is a circular argument. If you believe Jesus Christ existed, then you are paying attention to historical facts. If you believe that he is the son of God, you are a christian believer. If you have your doubts, that certainly doesn't mean you are unintelligent.
Muggaz, I know plenty about the abuse of alcohol and other drugs. I have family members that have flushed their lives down the toilet due to both. Domestic abuse can't be pawned off on alcohol either. There are many people that will get destructive no matter what they are or aren't using. So, are you passively saying I am rude by saying you don't think I read what you said? I read what you said. I just didn't see why you would bring up dr
GCJ, you are too funny!
Muggaz, again you didn't bother to really read what I said. I specified that if you used alcohol within legal limits (i.e. not driving with an illegal blood alcohol limit) you would be only effecting your own body. I am aware of all of the problems linked with alcohol abuse. If you have one alcoholic drink, it is pretty much gauranteed you aren't going to harm anyone. Noone can predict how someone will behave following a dose of LSD or excstasy.<br
I also agree in helping others. There are very simple ways to help make things easier on others. I often will get an item off a shelf or find an item for someone at the grocery store. It disgusts me how many people will pass by a poor little old lady who obviously needs help. If you see a woman/man struggling with a cranky tot, let them go ahead of you. Little things like that can make or break someone's day. I think what you did was wond
One thing is for sure about religion, it will spark an unending discussion. There are plenty of intelligent people on both sides of the argument and niether can prove anything. At some point, we all have to admit that something came from nothing and noone knows for sure how. Whether you are Christian or not, Jesus Christ existed and was a positive influence on men. Spreading ideas of morality like, don't kill, don't steal, etc. was a good t
I agree with unique. Go for it. Just tell him the truth about how you feel. Life's too short to play games. Best wishes.
I missed Tuesday night's auditions but caught last night's auditions in Houston, TX. I think they set a new record for worst auditions ever! Paula was feeling ill and ended up leaving about half way through. All of them walked out on people at different times. Both Simon and Randy walked out on a guy and he just kept singing...terribly! It still boggles me, and I love it, that these people think they can be stars. I have taped myself singing and listened to it. I am not bad for yo
The new gas log kits are awesome. They really fool you into thinking they are "real". Ours has this "magic ember" stuff that burns and glows like wood embers and lava rack that looks like coals. The logs are 8 different pieces that you can arrange however you like and it looks so real noone has been able to tell yet. I know of too many chimney fires to have another wood burning fire place. I love my "fake" fire <img src="../images/smiles/j
Are you twins? You certainly can't tell in the photo. I love the timelessness of black and white. You are lovely ladies.
We went through the building process twice in the past 8yrs. We learned a lot from the first experience and applied it to the second. Here are a couple of things I am loving in the new house 1)Central Vac system. I thought it cost way too much but my husband argued well for it. I am so glad he did! It makes my life so much easier! I was skeptical because I thought dragging the hose around to the different ports would be just as much a hassle as dragging the whole vac....it isn't
