I know I can't function with less than 6hrs of sleep. I had a night a couple of nights ago when I got about 3hrs and felt like a total zombie the next day. I think it was shortly after that I started feeling under the weather. I turn into a witch with a "b" too. I used to get by in college by napping a lot during the day (that partly explains my grades ). I, and I suspect you, can't n

Huge kudos on the second day of 1 cup of coffee. I only had 2 yesterday and a couple of cups of orange, jasmine flavored green tea. I haven't had anything but tea and water today since I have a really sore throat. I stayed in bed until noon since my 3yr old was happy sitting at the end of the bed playing on the GameCube. I should be doing some house work but my energy level is zapped. I think I'll have some soup and more tea. What does bl
Congrats on your anniversary! I am looking forward to American Idol too
I finally have a snow blower this year after 10yrs and I love it! I got up at 6:30AM, put oil and gas in it, plugged it in for electric start, pushed the start button and it started! I had the whole drive, our front walk and the sidewalks in front of our house and that of 3 neighbors done in under an hour. No back ache. No burning lungs and sore hands. No chugging heart. Just a nice clean driveway <img src="../images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0
I don't ever intend on giving up coffee but I know I need to cut back...way back. Coffee and caffiene in general is much worse for women than men. It causes us all sorts of fun fibroid type problems that give you cancer scares. I am only 33 and am about to have my 3rd mammogram. Luckily, it is a bump that the dr thinks is nothing but I have to keep an eye on it. He says I need to quit caffiene. I am addicted though. I have two small boys and bec
What a sad event. Those two survivors were lucky to have people like you and your husband right there. I just knew you were good people (that was in reference to the comments to my racism article). Hope the new year is happy for your family and theirs.
the only things that scare me when thinking about death are 1)dying painfully and 2) how upsetting and painful it will be for those who love me. Death is mainly sad to me since I love life so much. You do have to make realistic changes for health reasons some times and it sounds like you are making important ones. You go girl!
Capt, I read this as suggested by your comment to my article. Your article is actually in total agreement with mine if you go back and look. You mentioned all of mine was about the negatives. That was because, as I said, my article was inspired by an ad that was driving me crazy. Having children is by far a more wonderful than negative experience. You mentioned your experience with your sister's children. When you have children of your own you will see the difference. I don't mean
destiny, do you get rid of all your money? People who are wealthy get called greedy whether they are or not. Bill Gates is a good example of someone who will always be called greedy but he gives millions to charity. Just because you're wealthy doesn't mean you're greedy just like being poor doesn't mean you're not greedy.
I've been married 9yrs (10 in May) I have 2 boys I am a homemaker and am the Human Resources manager for our software company I'm 33 I live in Southeast Michigan Hey Superpsych, I worked in DDA (Developmentally Disabled Adult) homes while in college. Kudos to you for helping those less fortunate. TexasNurse, best of luck in your studies.
Norad has been doing this for at least the last few years. We show our son where Santa is so he is convinced he needs to get to bed. Christmas Eve, at about 10PM Santa was over Eastern Canada so my 7yr old trucked off to bed. Thank you Norad! They even had a picture of the jets flying on either side of the sleigh with Rudolph guiding the way. Very cool.
My Christmas wish this year was for the family to stay healthy so we could all be together. They are healthy still. We had a wonderful Christmas. The turkey turned out picture perfect. We enjoyed good food, the company of loved ones and thoughtful gifts. Noone could ask for more. The only low part is at the end of the day we got news that my 40yr old cousin was found dead in his bed Christmas morning. The initial report is heart attack. His mother and sisters found him and my hea
Good article. I totallly think it must be insecurity that makes people get upset about what others are doing. I saw a rabi on TV who said that he is secure in his religion, therefore he has no problem with others being secure in theirs. Whether you are religious or not, Jesus did exist. Most people even are aware that he wasn't born in December but the holiday is to honor his birth and I think that is wonderful whenver it is done. Anyone who objects to spreading the word of peace
I believe in keeping an open mind to all possibilities and gathering as much info as you can before forming a conclusion. I am afraid that this article, due to terms like "Bush and his thugs" presents info that is not so open minded. I also tend to get a bit turned off by conspiracy theory presentations. I am more open to the "here are some facts, what do you think?" presentation. One part I thought was just plain poorly thought out was saying that you couldn't have been investigatin
I know as a parent that I need to get more involved in scoping out what my childrens' schools plan to teach and see what can be done about it. So far, our elementary school seems really good. I do, however, think too much time and money is spent on things that the kids aren't getting much out of but seem to be trying to show the parents "See the fun stuff we do at school." I think parents rely too heavily on teachers and administrators to make sure their kids get the best education.
Well put JeremyG
My top most wish for this holiday season is for the family to stay healthy so we can visit everyone that we have missed the passed few years. We have cousins that we didn't get to see for the last three years so far due to either our ailments or theirs. The usual culprit being the flu. This year we only had one pre-Christmas get together which involved being exposed to only one other child. We figured that would be a safe bet for a germ free holiday start....wrong! This one child en
I am a subscriber to Woman's Day magazine. It professes to provide information to help women lead healthier, happier lives. I often enjoy recipes, tips and stories they provide. There was an article in the Feb issue that I just recieved that set me off though. The issue I have is women's unrealistic expectations for fashion. The article about maternity makeovers took the women out of tennis shoes and put them in heals...that's right, heals! On what planet should anyone expect a pre
You really do need a book for each one. Each child needs to be approached with their own individual methods of discipline. What worked with your first child might not with your second. Some kids have a natural sense of emapathy and responsibility. Others have to have everything demonstrated. I am speeking currently from being the parent of 7 and 3yr olds. Denniskaira, I don't know if you are a parent but I am assuming you were/are a teenager. You are saying that the only teens tha
Sounds more like a cold if you don't have a fever. A flu usually has 102 or higher temp. It is always scary to have anything when you have a newborn. You don't get the rest you need either so things seem to hang on longer. Stay hydrated, rest as much as the baby will let you. Best wishes for happy holidays.
All that timeline confirms that the President knew before reading to those school children was that a plane had crashed into the WTC. The President would not, in any normal circumstances rush to the site of a plane crash. I didn't read anything in that timeline that convinced me that the President had any chance to thwart the tragedy that occured. I find it boggling that so many people are quicker to demonize GW than OSB! I am informed. I still blame OSB. I will "move-on" w

Well said TexasNurse! Happy Holidays and keep up the good work.
I recently saw "The Last Samurai" with my husband and friends. It wasn't my first choice in movies because it really didn't sound like my kind of thing. I'm not the kind of girl that wants to see anything Tom Cruise is in. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Tom was pretty much as I expected but all of the other actors were at his level or higher. Even the little boy was a fantastic actor. The scenery was breath taking and the fights were incredible (gorey, but incredible)
