Those big inflatable lawn guys are the thing here too. One yard near our old neighborhood has close to twenty! There are snowmen, the Grinch, Santas, Pooh, etc. I think every inch of their yard is covered. The other big thin this year is those lit deer whose heads move. I haven't gotten any lights up outside yet but got a 12ft tree and a table top tree up inside. I love the warm lights at night.

Hey Toxic, what the heck was the rant about Republicans and thinking slavery is okay? What party freed the slaves here?.....oh...oh...Rebublican! This stuff isn't about being a Republican. A right wing conservative maybe, but none of it has to do with being a Republican. I am not religious but I am a Republican. I don't think it was well thought out at all. I think it is offensive to say that if you are Republican you have to support every conservative out there. Rush is a conserv

I love the classic closed eyes laugh. I have a picture like that of my youngest son. Too cute. You are wise to capture and enjoy each of those moments. They go by soooo fast! I can't believe my baby is 3!

As a parent, both stories make my stomache churn and heart ache. I have never understood violence in any form. I feel a bit angry at the parents of the 4yr old. If that woman had so many drug problems, I bet it was quite evident but they went ahead and left that little guy in harms way. I feel for the parents of the teen with the list because sometimes you just can't see what is going on in a teens head. They so often don't even understand it themselves. I don't complain about the

I thought it sucked like Revolutions. They both seemed to be going for "girl power". I felt like it tried to make up for unlikable characters and bad directing with shots of sex and gratuitous violence (snapping the babies neck). Sure other shows don't have characters snapping babies necks. You know why? It is totally unneccessary. How anyone could find the first 15 or 20 mins of the show entertaining, I will never know. It was slow, tried to introduce too many characters at onc

Sorry to hear you have the crud. Hope you are feeling better before any of your holiday get togethers are spoiled. How are hubby and kiddo? I am hoping to avoid the holiday season barf-o-rama that we got a couple of Christmases. We have a cousin to visit that we haven't seen in 7yrs. Last couple of times he was in the same state, either we were sick or the family members he was staying with were. Drink lots of fluids. That should help keep your lips from sticking to your teeth :)

Yesterday I had "surgery" to remove a huge vericose vein that ran from practically the top of my inner thigh to about 4 inches below my knee. I say "surgery" because I would call it a procedure. It was done right in the office and was very quick. I am back on my feet today! I can't believe that something that used to require a huge slit and major recovery time has been so far reduced in invasiveness. It is similar to the differences made in gall bladder surgery (which I had the oppo

Wow, sounds like the story I keep hearing over and over. I think you are right, it does sound like midlife crisis. A dear friend of mine is going through divorce right now. She has 3 little ones ages 1-almost 7. She found out that her husband started having an affair with a coworker back when she was pregnant with the now 1yr old. When she confronted him he claimed he still loved her and they went to counseling. She thought things were going great and then the day after they got back from

It has not been determined yet whether or not his death was a result of his injuries from the conflict. His heart was enlarged and he was on major drugs (which you made note of).

Please don't lose faith in the human race just because some bad people do some bad things. That is an awful thing to have something as important as a car stolen from you. At least noone was injured or traumatized. There was a carjacking near where I live the day before Thanksgiving. A poor woman and her teenage daughter were held at gunpoint. Their sense of well being was stolen. That can't be replaced. Car's can be. Just look at your baby and keep in mind how good humans can be.

Police officers in Cincinnatti are being investigated for possible misuse of force and people went as far as to say it was "another lynching of the black man". I see this as another example of people jumping on the Racism Card and waving before they think. Let us look at things from a police officer's view for just a moment. There is a 350 lb man (let's just assume for a moment the officer is color blind) coming at you and yelling at you. You tell him to put his arms behind his back and he s

It is too bad your friends can't debate instead of arguing. An argument is just a debate that people take to heart. If you discuss stuff by putting forth your argument then listening to someone else's with an open mind, you've got a good debate. About Disney stories, I think it is a tradition for the Mom to be out early on. Walt's Mom died as a result of fumes from an improperly installed furnace before Walt came out with his first movie (Snow White). I imagine that had a signific

If I were one of those people on that flight, I would want to track that guy down and pummel him! What a stupid thing to do! They should have at least fined him. Why didn't the CNN reporter ask why the guy wasn't punished?! I agree, crappy reporting.

I have had way too many bad experiences with elderly men on the road to not say something. Driving is another example of something we tend to think of as a right but it is definitly a privilege. Some people should not be driving! Examples: I was driving up the aisle between parking places in a parking lot and a guy who looked to be in his 70s comes flying across the parking spaces. He has to slam on his brakes to keep from t-boning me even though he should have seen me for some t

I'm with you. I love the lights, shows and music. I love the excitement I see in my childrens' eyes. I, on the other hand, look forward to the giving. I don't like the mob scene at the stores though. I do a lot of online shopping. I enjoy wrapping. I don't enjoy the lines at UPS or the post office to ship packages to friends and family. I enjoy making cookies with my kids and telling them stories of special Christmases I had as a little girl. You only feel what you allow yoursel

I am almost in tears reading this. I know what you mean when you say you can't imagine anything happening to you now that you are a parent. I think the Barbie is such a sweet idea. Best Wishes.

I do believe in spanking when it is for something that is dangerous for the child (like running away from you) or if you just can't get their attention any other way. Sometimes that is what it takes. It is effective too. I got spanked growing up. Only a couple of times. I am not a violent person. I don't believe in taking anger out physically. People who think that kids are physical because they got spanked are foolish. Kids that get beaten are a different subject. A couple of t

I am getting a little discouraged with some family members (I won't name any names because they may read this) who make gift exchanging almost not worth it. Personally, I enjoy getting stuff that people thought of for me. I really don't like it when I have to give them a list to go buy. I truly believe it is the thought that counts. So many people now seem to think of holiday shopping as such a chore. They have all of these people they "have" to buy for. Personally, if I don't hav

First of all, I have to help you with your spelling because it is cracking me up. Remember it this way, you eat "dessert" when you are stressed and stressed spelled backward is dessert. Your wife is in the desert unless she is in a big pool of pudding ;) About the gift, your wife sounds a lot like me. The only jewelry I wear is my wedding rings and a nice pair of earrings I never change. I am not a clothes or shoe horse either. My idea is to get one of those picture frames or album
