Having kids has been a great excuse for playing with paper and paste and paint. For getting excited about trick-or-treating and birthday parties. I had forgotten what fun it was to suck the helium out of a ballon and sing a silly song. Being a kid is great! My son is about to turn 7 and decided he wanted a Bionicle birthday party. For those of you who aren't familiar with Bionicles, they are Lego characters that look like robots but have this spirit world that reminds me of native A

Michael, Michael, Michael. What have you done to yourself? You look like a burn victim! Looks like your eyebrows, nose, lips, etc had to be reconstructed. I'm amazed you can get any kids to come near you!
I see love in a much different way. The way you can test whether or not you love someone is this, picture not being able to ever see that person again. Do you ache inside? If so, you love that person. This applies to all forms of love. Now romantic love, as I see it, is the form that people so often refer to as "chemistry". Therefore, I think your statement of romantic love only existing in marriage is false (in my opinion of course). I see romantic love as that force that draws y
I can't believe the pediatrician didn't clean his ears right then and there! My older son has chronic ear wax problems. The first time he had really bad buildup they did a thorough cleaning (he screamed the entire time). She wanted to make sure it was only wax in there. Besides that, if it wasn't clean, how could she/he tell that it wasn't infected? My son never gets a temp with ear infections so you can't go by that. Poor kids!
How exciting! I never win anything. I have only bought a couple of lottery tickets in my life to be fair. We get some as a gift every year as a friend. Never even won so much as a dollar. I did find a $20 bill on the ground in college once. That made me feel like I won the lottery :)
Abe, not that I would mind such a law but it is quite obvious it would never, ever fly in America. I don't even kow how many religions that would offend. I do know about Catholics though. Monty Python, every sperm is sacred, ring a bell? Sure a law preventing one from having sex before they were of age could get by but good luck enforcing it.
Before I started blogging I had a pretty low opinion of my debating skills. My husband and some of our friends are extremely good debaters. I would usually put my two cents in only to have one of them say something that made what I said totally irrelevant. I have since learned that I am a far cry from the worst of the debaters. I at least try to fully think through what I write down. I read through what others have said then think, "Do I have anything new to add?" If the answer i
Um, wrong article friends. I think you meant to comment on the ones regarding welfare.
A friend of mine just gave birth to her second child and were reflecting on how quickly we forget what newborns are like. They are like a completely different creature! Then I got to thinking about how once they get to be about 5 or 6 months old, they are this fun little cuteness machine. It is as if you have a newborn for 3 or 4 months, it is replaced with a new creature called an "infant". Your infant then gets replaced with a toddler, then a preschooler, then an elementary school
I get a lot of that spam and of hot girls that want to date me. I don't have a penis and I'm not a lesbian so they are barking up the wrong tree :)
I'm a dog person myself. I'm not a fanatic, matter of fact, I haven't even owned one as an adult but grew up having dogs all my life. I love dogs. Like MsShrink said, cats are conditional. They make no qualms about the fact that you are to serve them and they will do as they please. Dogs just love you. Some will practically crawl out of their skin to be with you. I don't hate cats or anything. If you long to be liked, get a dog.
julygem13, I did a search about the Purple Heart and it looks like the criteria to recieve this medal changed in 1988 to include "any soldier killed or wounded in the service of their country". Shoshana Johnson recieved the same medals as Jessica Lynch (Bronze Star, Purple Heart and POW).
That's right, run it in! I have done 9 loads in 2 days and still have another 3 waiting....argh! My husband seems to think he needs 2 or 3 fresh towels every time he bathes and my 3yr old keeps peeing on stuff.
Yeah, noone saw that coming!
I just don't inderstand how anyone with a functioning brain of any kind can't see that Saddam is evil! I guess he is just misunderstood like Hitler ;) I tend to think that those protestors do stunts like that merely for the media attention. Noone could seriously think that Bush is dangerous, could they?
Well, I called those 4 other places. 2 were all booked up and the other 2 said their average was $1200- $2000.
I absolutely love visiting people but have noticed a strange and sad trend amongst most of our neighbors/friends. So many people these days feel their house has to be all clean and perfect before they will invite you in. I wasn't raised that way at all. Matter of fact, I tell friends that they are welcome any time at all to come see us but if they want to see the house, they have to give forwarning. I would never judge another because their house is messy on any given day. We live i
I'm sorry you sound so unhappy at work. I am also sorry to hear your son is sick. Best wishes.
Calor is right that the government is there to provide services. So these rich people have to pay more than everyone else for the same services. Why stop there? Why shouldn't rich people have to pay more for all services? You want cable service? Well, if you're rich, you need to pay more. Electric, phone, medical,.....more, more, more! It is that confusion between the "government" being an entity that knows how to take care of us better than we do instead of being what it is, a se
I take joy in the every day things, well, every day. I'm thrilled when my 3 yr old says "Good morning!" I marvel at the fact that my 7yr old reads, writes, tells time, and even philosophizes these days. I should write an article of "Alexisms" some time ;) I'm prould that they are such sweet, happy boys. And I am thankful every night when I tuck them into bed safe and sound. My fears aren't just the typical worries about physical harm. With boys that is an imminent thing. I fear t
If you already think showering is a bonus, good luck finding a wife ;)
Watch it! I'm blonde but at least I am blonde naturally :)
The sun really does have a way of perking you up. Don't go tan though! Wrinkles, cancer, just say no. You should get one of those sunlight lamps instead. I have been thinking about getting one of those for my hubby. I am a generally upbeat person but he is a little bipolar. I'm from Northern Michigan so I expect snow in November. Heck, I've even seen snow in May! I don't mind snow if you have sunshine along with it.
I know you claim to be representing "sanity from the left" but I don't see it. So, if you are rich it is because you love money. What if it is because you love having some control over your life and, let's face it, if you don't have money, you don't have a lot of options. And when the government takes 50% (I know, boo-hoo) it takes a lot of money to have much control over your life. If you have money you can pay others to do things that keep you from spending time with your f
I hope they revisit the whole subject of how Lex was involved in his baby brother's death. I also suspect that Lex is well on his journey to the dark side.
