Alrighty then. My first thought when reading this was "What a bad place to be dissing geeks!" You should realize you are not only talking to male geeks but females also. I married a geek and am happier than anyone I know. He is my best friend. 12yrs later we still find each other extremely interesting and have grown to know each other extremely well. The beauty of the geek is that they are usually evolved past the influences of societal pressures. They are able to think beyond s

I find it mind boggling that our NPR (National Public Radio) station actually refers to OBL as an "alleged terrorist". Alleged?!
I am hoping that that wasn't an example of your worst injustice. I have know idea of how old you are but I am 33 and have had many harder cases toward the whole "people suck" mentality including having a furnace service guy going into my bedroom closet and steal things. Bad stuff like that seems to stick in one's mind more piogniantly than the good yet, if you try, you will see that the majority of people are good, kind people who are experiencing the same sorts of things you are. It only tak
I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. I have had times when I would tend to agree with you. Those times were generally when I had just been ripped off or lied to. In general I think most people are good. I enjoy people in general that is one of the reasons I read blogs. I enjoy hearing about other people's experiences. I hope people manage to change your outlook before you become that "bitter old man".
Just would like to extend my appreciation for both your wife's service to our country and for your having to sacrifice your time with her. Thanks to your family. Hope the blogging serves as a distraction for you while she is away.
You can always pick your audience to post to also. If you think something is boring or personal, just don't post it to everyone.
We need to kill the bastards and prove that they are dead. That is the tricky part. As long as those who fear them think there is a chance that they are still out there, they will still have a hold on them. Their followers, of course, will follow whether they are alive or dead but will be less effective without their leader.
Rodriguez, disability is based on the extent of the injury. Would you give someone with a sprained ankle the same amount of disability as someone who is quadraplegic? That is the exaggerated form of this case. Shoshana walked out of Iraq and Jessica is still not walking. Her bladder and bowels are quite likely permanently paralyzed. Her medical care will be vastly more costly. Even if Shoshana had to have both ankles replaced (not even sure they do that but I know they do hips and knees) i
What kind of gift do I get in exchange for a redhead? ;)
I, as a chronically overweight person, think the reason most Americans have problems with weight isn't that scientific. I think it mostly boils down to life style. Bad habits. Too much convenience. I say this because I am aware of my bad habits. I don't blame my weight on my matabolism. I simply eat too many calories and don't burn enough. I sit here on the computer. I drive around in the car. I eat fast food or fix quick meals. When I stay home, prepare proper meals, and take time to
Wow! That goes beyond not bright right into good old fashioned crazy. Scary thing is, if a guy could do that to himself, just think of the horrible things he would be capable of doing to others! That is one area where most guys get very weak. When my oldest came home as a newborn, blood from his circ had dried the gauze to him. Every man in the room instantly looked pale and ill. Luckily, my Mom was there and loosened it right off with A&D ointment. I reiterate, WOW!
My favorite was the Earth Day one. Thanks for pointing these out.
Yikes! You should be a nurse if you think you can help people and if you care about people. I have only been in the hospital a couple of times but nurses can make the difference between it being a hellish experience or not. When I had my first son, the labor and delivery nurses were fantastic. So caring, gentle, and made me feel like a real person having a really important experience. The recovery nurses were awful! It was the middle of the night, I had a physically traumatic delivery and
What a happy looking family! Congratulations! Sorry to hear you have to go back to work tomorrow.
I am SO glad to hear someone is enjoying their teens. I hear all the time how people would trad the "teribble teens for the terrible twos" any day. I have been enjoying every step of the first 7yrs of being a parent. I like to believe that I will continue to enjoy it.
The crud has run rampant here in our part of MI too. Poor kids have had a fever for a week sometimes! Ours had a croupy cough. Not fun.
I know what you mean about the fear factor thing. Our younger one loves to scare me. He never goes down the slide the proper way. I learned quickly to stifle my anxiety or else he ups the anty. Kids are weird and insane! If they get a reaction, it just feeds them. I generally don't react now until I hear screaming ;)
Draginol, I think liberals get off track when thinking any one group (namely them) can decide what "the right thing" is. The American society has gotten too far from the days when we took pride in caring for our own. Remember when it was humiliating to ask for assitance? Now people practically brag that they are getting away with drawing unemployment or getting welfare. I am not saying that we shouldn't have programs to get people back on their feet or to help those that don'
If I can't machine wash, tumble dry, I don't buy it. Of course we get the occasionally complicated item as a gift. They don't usually survive long unless they are dry clean only. I can do dry cleaning :)
How sad is it that it is now noon and all I have accomplished is feeding my kids, then my son, straightened up in the basement (destroyed since by the boys) and reading blogs. I am sitting here in my nightgown. I know I need to do laundry (cringe), breakfast dishes, make beds, etc. I at least need to bathe and get dressed! My main activities today will be getting the house in order so I can go out this evening. Going to go see Revolutions (I know, it's crap) and have dinner with a
Well put Anthony R.
Proud to say what, that he is dating his wife or that he should be getting laid 7 times a week? ;)
I am more than a little miffed with Weight Watchers right now. According to Entertainment Weekly, WW offered Renee Zellweger $3.2 million to lose her "Bridget Jones" weight with them. What are they thinking?! WW is all about making changes in your life style rather than just "dieting". It is supposed to be about dealing with why you have issues with food. Ms Zellweger doesn't have issues with food. She was payed to artifically change her body for a movie role. All she has to do to lose th
TexasNurse2, I like the snow until about Jan 15. If it could snow from 12/1 - 1/15, I would be in heaven! About midwinter I would gladly switch with you :) I was raised in Northern Michigan so I know snow. Are you a native Texan? I know Michiganders that moved to Texas and like to come visit the snow for Christmas but are quite happy to return to the warmth. I'm with you though. Christmas and snow go together. We already have an inch in Northern MI (maybe more in the U.P.). The
Zergimmi, "change for the sake of change, not good." Soooo true! I know so many people, when discussing political figures, that say "I just don't like that guy. At least this other guy would be different." That sort of stuff infuriates me! Different could mean more social programs that don't do any good, changes in the military, changes in taxes. The whole "Time for a change" platform doesn't work with me unless I am convinced it will be change for the good. These people can't eve
