Looks very good, Spellforce!
I think the most terrible torture scene I saw in a movie (in the sense that I felt it physically), is in Marathon Man, where Dustin Hofman meets that crazy nazi-dentist.
The book is even stronger. I remember holding my cheek as I read that part.
but what about just the graphics for the ship design? that is what se3 did once, you sent in your image files, and when they had enough submissions, they sent out an expansion pack with tons of new ship graphics to choose from.
They still do. You don't even have to submit them to Malfador. There are shipsets all over the web for Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, and some just made up altogether. You can even make your own race pictures and shipsets for the races in SE4
Hey, Spellforce, Mister Prime Minister Sir! Shouldn't the motto on your web page be "Come in peace. Or rest in peace instead of piece? It should be either peace or pieces for the phrase to work right. Just a suggestion, made most diplomatically (notice all that humble reverence type stuff when I addressed you ;))
Hey! All these bumps and not a single, "excuse me". Where are the diplomats? :)
se3 had a very neat game editor

Another interesting idea
Remember though, that most of SE3 and SE4 data for the game was stored in text files, which made them very easy to edit. You could even add facilities, components, races, abilities, and change graphics easily. I think the original poster's idea was to be able to design your own battleship for example, much as you do in the Space Empire games (and others like MOO, Stars!, etc) and th
I just got full marks on my teaching practice
:CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: Good job!!
my highest ever score
Another good one!!! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
What was that? I heard something! It went bump , really.... listen....
I hope it's nothing too serious
Not serious as in life threatening in any way. It is diagnostic stuff for my wife. We don't have a health insurance system like yours so we have copays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket costs. Some companies have better, some worse, and some have little if any. Big issue here...
dentist, I'm still paying for the later, 8 months after he finished the work... --ie turturing me on his chair
I have alway
Well i think you would all do better if you joined an empire with just one empire in its name
LOL LOL It is kind of silly to say Evil Empire Empire
I ignore it and hope for the best
This time it is unforeseen things, medical expenses, that one can't ignore :( Must prioritize :)
I don't now when there will be a next one Terl
The way paydays work out, I will be getting it either this week or two weeks from now (drengin.net that is). I am trying to stretch my year as far as I can :) I am not in a hurry anyway. I have enough problems with the races that are available now :)
You haven't gotten any snow yet Terl? I would've thought upstate NY would have been hit pretty hard by now. Or are you talking about more snow?
We have some on the ground of course. I am talking about the latest storm coming today through tomorrow. I think the city will get hit worse than us in the upstate areas (I am about 3 hrs drive north of NYC).
AP sounds pretty good. I will be signing up for Drengin.net soon. I am waiting for the later builds... I did not get to play last night :( as I had to do a bit of maintenance on my wife's pc. Hopefully the weather guys are wrong and the snow will skip on by so I can play tonight instead of cleaning up snow.
Fulgrymm >>> that was it?
It also dribbled out into another thread or two apologizing to Hurley and Jaws. It was all rather silly.
From KitWarrior: To combat frigid temperatures and declining morale, emergency shipments of booze have been requested. Please take a brief moment from your busy schedule to assemble all of your spare booze. Illegal alien pornography and delicacies would also be greatly appreciated. Message ends.... OK, we will send copies of Torian Tushy and Drengin Derrieres along with some watered down Bacardi and a couple barrels of Torian Tornadoes. Heck, we'll even toss
I'm sorry if I hurt anybody's feelings.
Not mine. I hope yours are not hurting either. Just to let you know, I am not a Europe basher at all. I have lived in Europe before, 4 years each time (twice total) and travelled a lot. I enjoyed my years there a great deal...
Is that a valid reson to go Euro-bashing?
I don't think it was meant that way. Sorry if it looked like it....
End of discussion for me.
Me too. Have a good evening and happy GalCivving :)
Oh and congrats, I didn't know the US won the 2 world war alone, I always thought, Australia, New-Zealand, Brits, Canadians and French in Exile helped. But then Allied meant as much then as coalition now I suppose...
No one said otherwise in any of the posts above. The poster qualified the statement made with the word: unassisted. And I doubt very much if any disrespect were meant in any way. I think everyone is aware of the sacrifices made by many, many count
Korea, Vietnam, Cold War, 1 Gulf War, Second Gulf war
Korea: Was multi-national, granted primarily US Vietnam: France first then us... Cold War: More than just US vs Soviets Gulf War 1: Coalition Gulf War 2: Sort of a coalition.... There is more to each of these I know. I am merely showing not everything is cut and dried with easy cookie-cutter answers. The first two are representative of the silly "domino theory" with the third a continuatio

You may be a Balrog and bigger than Gandalf, but please put him down!" "Strider! You are filthy young man! How do you expect anyone to believe who you really are? Well?" "Saruman!
I've also never played loose clusters
I find it easy, but then again that is all I've played. If you start out in a nice cluster with a few planets it is not bad at all. If you start out in a corner with the next good planets out of initial range it is a pain. I try to "play what I am dealt" and have actually one with one planet and one sector. It was on normal ai. I did everything I could to stay under everyone's radar, waited until all that was left was "close" wi
Any win is a good win! There are no paltry submissions.
You are right about more people submitting. I have noticed quite a few of our members don't post at all. My scores, numerically speaking are low compared to 60k, but, I don't like gigantic right now and true to the word, maso hurts. I tried one on normal and just thought it was too big. I would rather finish multiple smaller games that are roughly equal to time and scores of one larger one. What type of
