Theoden, is it possible Terl has had too many Torian Tornados?
Nope, just very bored at work today but creative (maybe?) in others.... :)
Here's the story Of a Lord named Sauron And his legions of evil min-i-ons And a wizard Name of Saruman And his army of home grown orcs And the one day that They came together And formed the Mordor Bunch! The Mordor bunch, the Mordor bunch.....
"Mr Melkor, I suppose you are wondering why I've had to call you in today." "Actually I am quite surprised. Little Sauron has been quite good lately. Have you had problems with him here at school." "Well, Mr Melkor, I am concerned about him a great deal. We have had several incidents lately and I have been tracking his work. Look, look at this artwork! I am gravely concerned that little Sauron has been dabbling in evil, sir. See the black mountains? This is all he draws,
Outside the mines of Moria.... Somewhere over the mountain Mordor lies Black birds and evil a flying We will surely die Farther over the mountain Skies are black And when all the roads are travelled There is the Mount of Doom Some day I'll walk a bit too far And wake up Mister Balrog who will slay the wiz With whips of fire and teeth the same The things we do for simple fame The wizard is now white! Somewhere over the mo
"Hello? Ringwraith residence!" "Yes, I'm calling from AT&T and we'd like to offer you an opportunity to join our Friends of Arda Calling plan" "No thank you, I am quite happy with the Call of the Ring Plan I have right now." "Well, may I ask, if you are the decision maker in your household, Mr Ringwraith?" "Well, no, actually. That would be a Mister Sauron. We kind of do his bidding, you know how it is, work, work, work. It is just so difficult being neith
Mickey Spillane writing LoTR: It started with a wizard. Every bad luck story starts with a wizard, or a dame. They are much the same though; both being subtle and quick to anger. This was no ordinary wizard though. He was Gandalf and he always came ready. Today he had a big 44 caliber wizard staff as he walked with a swagger into the little town of Hobbiton. That is when he walked into my office. Me? I'm Terl Hammer, private eye in this stinkin' little hole in the wall..... :)
"Smeagol", he said "Where's my Ring" Just to see if I would sing I just stayed still and hung my head He made me wish I were dead Oh, Dark Lord got angry, Dark Lord got mad Gave me a whipping like I never had He wants his ring back, I wants my Precious! Dark Lord, ouch, that really hurts, ow! it hurts a lot! The Dark Lord he did set me free To go beyond, to find the jewelry He did have once upon his hand I tried to say "You go pound sand

I am active, I just don't score very high :(
I haven't had problems either, but I do not use SDC except to get updates. I have my homepage set to GalCiv though :) Got to have the priorities right ;) Cool! I just noticed I have a medal I know I never earned, former top 25. I have never been higher than what I am now. I hope the Inspector General doesn't catch me :) [Message Edited]
I got KotOR (Xbox) for Christmas but still haven't opened it .... can't get away from GalCiv.
True enough. I have not touched my playstation for a while. I will be signing up for the drengin upgrade next week (payday, hurray!) so I can get AP. I also want to check out Corporate Machine and, when it comes out, Political Machine.
I'm so sorry! But you obviously got past it.
Yup, once I got GalCiv, MOO3 went up on half.com and currently sits collecting dust :) It is very good at that at least :) Theoden, c'mon, I know you played some Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds as you got me interested in it. Ah very relaxing to go home and kill Gungans and such :) Theoden, I hope you get your posting problem fixed.
Before GalCiv
As for me, it was Civ 3, Rise of Nations, and sadly Master of Orion 3 (oh so depressing :( )
he who knows when to fold lives to play another day
Very true :)
she used to stay up that late too. So she should understand...
Unfortunately, logic does not apply in these cases because our game is stupid while their's is not :)
Medieval or Shogun Totalwar
I saw them in the store. Are they good? What are they, TBS or RTS?
Personally, I don't answer the question.
Problem is, I usually don't even hear it until the third or fourth time it is asked ;) :D Too engrossed in the game....
I think time goes slow through the entire workday!
Quite true. Work seems like eons but when I sit down to play GalCiv I can be playing for two hours or more and not realize it at all...well, until I get the "Are you going to play that stupid game all night?" Oh, BTW, "yes" is not the right answer. ;)
That's a situation I haven't known in quite a while!
I got lucky and grabbed 2 tech resources which are now being mined quite heavily. That has helped quite a bit. I also sold corvettes and turbo phasers to the AI after I had battleships (some had corvettes but not all) for a good bit of cash over time which I think has helped keep them behind a bit. The Altarians owe me money for about six more months. And that will give me time to get my fleet staged :) Tim
I guess it's always nice to be on the top, even if it is page 16...
Considering I was way, way back at one point, I am happy. I know I will reach my "limit" after a while, as I do not play very often much above normal. I still make silly mistakes that seem to be hard to recover from at higher levels, which I would expect, no complaint, merely observations.
head over to the Pony for a very large drink. You with me Terl?
I would say I hea
Recalcs always cause retired players to fall in the standings, since they are no longer contributing scores. It could also be the reason we mysteriously lost a whole game's score.
I though of that too, but I am still new to the ins and outs of Metaverse Math. ;) I also have noticed going up a bit without posting a game as I missed a couple days....
How come now I'm 394?
Have you looked at the page you are on in the metaverse? You and I are fairly close in the standings. I noticed the scores are quite close, so it is possible to make decent jumps like that. We are both on page 16 right now. If you flip back to page 15 the top score is just over 40k. I wondered like you did and checked a couple days ago. The scores are so close where we are now that we can move up, but, once we get to a certain point we
mmm, penguin bashing.....
And another fun thing to do at work! This is great!! :D
Excellent Wombie, excellent! I hope you keep up with it. It is a nice counterbalance to the Metaverse Review.
That would be my concern, that it would just fade away again. :notsure:
