the routes you are allowed are Civ-wide, NOT per planet. (One trick to raise your total number of routes is to use diplomacy to get the AI to war with one another, then they have to find other trading partners - {there is no limit to the number of trade routes you can recieve}). :)

The anomaly's that produce the Space Shark (anomoly beast) are of two different looking types. The first is a grren colored asteroid, the other is a Sea Urchin looking thing (Lots of spines sticking out of it). You can simply steer clear of these anomolies, or as Peace Phoenix suggested lure them to another AI's area when your Survey Ship has enhanced its movement abilities.
If I read you correctly, there is but one slider for production... true... so how are the funds divided out between ship building verses social improvements?
On the domestic screen (the one with the Tax Rate slider and the Overall spending slider) you will notice on the bottom left a box which contains 3 vertical sliders. The one on the left tells what percentage of your spending goes to Military construction, the middle one is for Social construction, and the righ
I perfer huge tightly clustered abundant worlds. Gigantic are also entertaining but the length of time it takes is not worth the effort.
DF, try playing Gigantic, tight, rare...(and ctr-n until you get a start in the middle) then tell me how quickly you can whip out a game at gigantic!!! ;)

I'm not aware of any such Mod. I make it a point to check the foriegn relations board every few turns just to stay on top of the galactic situation. It is not neccessary to check the treaties tab to find out how the other Majors feel about you, and that is what really matters (unless you're getting ready to go to war with someone, in that case MAKE SURE you check the treaties tab to see who they're allied with, if anyone).

You can give them other things besides money; tech's, trade goods, wonders, ships etc. I frequently get improvements in relations by gifting tech's to other races. Be careful what tech's you give though (I mean don't give away a tech that unlocks a wonder or trade good that you want but haven't built yet).

Unfortunately you can't. The way I usually get around this is to have the planets I don't want to build anything (In your case 2 planets) build the longest possible project. For example, say you want to build a scout ship on your first planet only, and nothing on the other 2. Set planet one to build scout ships (say 5 months to complete) and planets 2 and 3 to build constructors (say 15 months to build). By the time the scout ship is completed you still have 10 months left before the

No, there is no multi-player. Think of the empires as a sub-community to the metaverse. The best advantage to joining an empire is the fun we have in our various forums. We also have strategy guides, seperate web sites, seperate forum sites, and friendly banter with the members of other empires. Click on the empires tab on the left nav-bar and scan through some of the empire threads. Feel free to post questions about the empire etc. in any of the empire threads.

I'd also caution you about using the cheats. If you choose to use them, don't try to submit the score to the metaverse. Also, I think it is better to learn how to play without them (thereby you don't have to RELY on them in order to enjoy a game). Most important is to have fun playing. If your confused, stuck, or just think your missing something, ask here, or join an empire and ask them. Either way you'll get plenty of response (as you can see!) ;)

Xoxotl, I don't think the troll references are directed at you, just the tenor of the posts the last few pages. As to the Question posted on the thread "GalCiv 2 = AP owners only?", I can only say what you've already stated...it's thier company, and they can run it as they choose to. I defense of Stardocks position, I must say that the value of the TGN subscription (through which I was able to get AP, at no additional charge) is well worth it. They currently have 13 games available to

Not one person here has yet mentioned the fabulous benefit of the mod's. Stardock has enabled its users to Modify the game and post thier Mod's on thier own site! Thanks to all who have added to my enjoyment of an already great game!!! Brad, I applaud you and your entire staff on creating a TRULY user friendly atmosphere here! WTG STARDOCK!!! As to the release of GCII, and the whole TGN thing, all I can say is...it's worth the subscription NOW, let alone when GCII is availab

The only thing I would add to the above comments is to post specific questions here (in this Forum) when you have them, and they'll get answered pretty quickly. Also, I would reccommend that you visit the Empire thread. Joining an Empire will really add alot to your GalCiv experience! Enjoy the game.
