Thanks, Seeker, but I already had that link. I am trying to avoid having to alt-tab out of my game to use this website. Does anyone know if this functionality will be added, either to Galciv 1 or 2?

I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered, but is there any plans to make more information on the technology tree available in-game? Don't get me wrong, the cross-linking of techs in the tree is great, but there is so much information that is not readily accessible in-game. It would be nice to know what all these techs can do. If this will not be available for Galciv, will this be incorporated into GalCiv 2?
Thanks for the input, folks! I was hoping to find a way to avoid either Alt-Tabbing to/from the game to look up information, or having 100 pages of documentation printed as reference. Oh, well. Maybe after playing for a while I will memorize all this, but the old memory isn't what it used to be. If any of the developers are reading this, more in-game documentation would be nice. Maybe an enhancement for GalCiv II?
OK, maybe I am missing something obvious, but I am having a major issue figuring out just what all this stuff I am researching DOES. For example, I research Advanced Trade. The ability of +1 Trade Route is self-explanatory, but the Social projects Galactic Stock Exchange & Economic Exchange, as well as the Military project Shopping District are just words on the page. I go to my governor, who lists all these social projects, but he doesn't know what they are either. I can go to an individual pla
I knew about the not getting paid part, which makes sense, but my experience so far indicates you still have to pay your tribute after you kill a civ, which would also make sense.
But if you stomp the civ, who are you paying the tribute to? I thnk the rule needs to be the same for both scenarios. If you don't get paid after stomping a civ, you shouldn't have to pay either.
the ship should move into the first available in range sector which they would not do. The message is misleading. The ship will not automatically move. You have to select the ship and right-click a destination that is in the ships range. Even though the message says the ship will be autopiloted, it will not move itself. How does this work? Are the mods that are hosted "Approved"?
:SURPRISED: 1.04! I will definately update as soon as my current game is over with. Thanks!
Sorry, folks, been away for a couple days. #3 & #4 - How do I tell what version I am running? I am running whatever was in the box when I bought it retail last week. (Forgot to update before starting my games :p ) #6 I wasn't trying to exploit a "free goodie". I was playing as I would in a real universe. If I am going to crush a civilization, I would promise them anything they wanted to get what I wanted before I crushed them like a bug. That is intelligent management, an
Want to finish my current game before updating. Not sure which empire I want to join, yet. Haven't decided if I want to play the light side or the dark side. Still learning.
I have seen several posts about eliminated races coming back, so I don't know if I am rehashing old news or providing additional information. I have eliminated two races culturally, the Torians and the Altarians. Their last planets have rebelled and joined my empire, they no longer show any influence on either map, and they do not show up anywhere in the diplomacy screens. However, if I go to war with one of the remaining races, I still get messages from the Torians and the Altarians sayin
So tell me, Admiral Mayito sir, why your empire is any better than another? Before I give up my Sovereignty to join an empire I want to know what is in it for me. I have billions of subjects who are happy with my benevolent rule. Why should I turn them over to someone who may be a despot? I am responsible for billions of lives! I must protect my people!
OK, I'll bite. Why do I want to join the Jedi Republic?
Thanks! :)
OK, I have played through almost twice - Getting the hang of most of this, but I have one burning question. Is there a way to tell how much influence each race has in a given sector without having to do the math? Is there a screen somewhere that shows "Sector 1, humans 30 influence, Drengin 40 influence,..." etc? I know you can show ownership in the mini-map, but it would be nice to know how much I would need to increase my influence in a given sector to take it away. Thanks in advance
