Windowblinds tip for LiteSteppers in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

Here's something I've come across in the last few days. I probably work work the same for everyone but it works for me. With past versions of windowblinds, it seemed neccesary to add LiteStep to Windowblinds exclusion list. If it wasn't, odd things could happen with windows when switching back and forth between virtual desktops (shrinking windows mostly). With the newest version of windowblinds, a Litestep exclusion doesn't seem needed and probably isn't a good idea. What

watch it almost every night now that we get the channel. Leo and the guys are pretty entertaining. A couple of months ago they even showed this web site as a key desktop customization site. Very cool. They even mentioned www.shellfront.org (a litestep and shell info site).

Sounds like a good one Russ. Time off the bike sucks though. Mind you, if I recall correctly, you're in an area that allows for year round riding so you'll be back at in 2 months or less.

hehe, sorry for the briefness of my earlier reply, I was at work. I can tell you the method I use. I have used it for both WinNT and Win2K so I presume it should work for XP as well. This method works for ALL users (running Litestep) and involves only one reg key. It allows multiple instances of windows explorer and hasn't given me any errors due to paths etc. The reg key is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE on local machine SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Ve

Litestep on WinXP is the same as for WIn2k or WinNT. That means that Litestep requires a registry entry rather than the system.ini. The easiest way to load up Litestep is to download one of the newer Distros. LSDistro is a new one and will ask you what version of windows your running etc. Then it will install and comes with a few preconfigured themes. You can find links to it on ls2k.com and shellfront.org.

*warning* wordy ramblings to follow I would say that Wincusto has probably seen the greatest amount of newly released themes over the last couple of months, with the one exception being customize.org. Customize was recieving a fair amount of previously released themes, people were catching up per say. I don't think the "Litestep Community" (if there is such a thing...hmm...there is, I guess
