Well, I am not sure that an entertainement center is needed if no farm are build. More, I don't really see why you want only factory on lower planet. You could only build ship. Not sure if it is really needed at the beginning of the game. It could be better not to build startport and build some labs instead. BTW, when I colonize new planets, the first thing I buy is a factory

I found some nasty bugs with the ship design and race selection: I have played with Thalan and decided to change the political party and some color on the ship. And I have designed some ships, some being with the Thalan starting techs. One of those ships being a simple colony ship with only a colony module to speed up colonization of planets in the same system. The following game, I played the same race, but it was appearing this time as a custom race. Not a real problem, I play it an

I had everything maxed out because every race was giving me hundreds every turn. I guess you weren't playing at maso level then since at this level, you won't get lots of money for tech.

Every strategy game suffers as the game progresses and civilizations get wiped out. How are they going to keep the game feeling fresh in GC2? I really love things like Civil Wars that split races in two, new factions moving in from another galaxy, or a race that everyone thought was extinct rising from the ashes. Have you played Galciv I? Because in

Unhappy planets that revolt should declare their independence and form a new minor race Well, something like that already happens: the I-League, that is formed of former colonies that have revolted due to a bad morale. And as long as the I-League is in play, you better need to watch the morale of your planets.

i agree... the extermination phase of a military victory is severely hampered by the lack of obital bombardment to destroy a colony. Well, you can always destroy a colony you own. And some invasion tactics have great impact on Planet Quality.

When you send a fleet of constructors (at least 2) to a starbase to upgrade it, 2 things can appear: - if for the first constructor, no extra fees are required for the choosen improvement, then you will have automatically the window for choosing the improvement associated with the second constructor. This case appears for ressources mining modules - if for the first constructor, extra fees are required for the choosen improvement, like it is generally the case for cultural modules in c

Are these designs PURELY aesthetic and functionless Well, it is purely aesthtehic but allows you to have more hardpoints were to put engine/attack/defense/ various module. You have the extra that cost nothing to add and take no valuable space. All others things (engine/attack/defense/ various modules) take space and cost something, And the

My only concern is that for all intents and purposes, a mutual defense pact will still get triggered if the attacker attacks someone with a mutual defense pact, just by indirect means. I guess the whole point of defense pact is that they are triggered once. You can have the whole galaxy at war at a point. But this won't last as soon as some peace ar

The Altarian have came telling me: "We have laid claim over some territories you now occupy. Therefore, we require some rent to continue utlizing the planets you're on. Hand over [CashValue] bc if you wish to live". And in the bargain screen, they are asking for 2562 BC. And the funny thing is that the altarian zone of influence doesn't border mine: there are others races between us or even space without any influence.

1) I don't think so. It is purely rolled dice(s) based on attack(s) type(s) against rolled dice(s) based on defense(s) on a ship to ship basis. The fleet effect allows to have all ships in the fleet attacking the same ship

Well, I am not sure about your screenshot: If I see it correctly, you have selected the altarian battleship. In that case, the range limit, as shown by the white line near the Torian influence zone is the range limit for the selected battleship. In that case the battleship is clearly in its range. Don't forget that range limits is based on planets and starbase, and not on influence zone
