Fonts shadows and colors are ported over, or at least they should be. I would suggest that you indeed try to compare the msstyles to the WindowBlinds rather than (or despite of comparing them to) Snidely's port, since they are essentially SkinStudio ports on steroids (top class steroids though). A lot of good can come from a detailed evaluation of those elements. I tried to transform all of them perfectly, but I'm sure there still are glitches here and

One more thing, the differences in the preview in the WB config dialog are not a problem with the skin but rather WindowBlinds bugs. As you can clearly see, neither of them is proper. [edited] Where I think this article is of immense value is how it talks about details. I;ve seen a quite a bit of poor, poor porting going on in here. Click, slap a first big image you find in a folder as a logoff dialog and send away! That is not how I

Very good and detailed article. I really like it. However... in your next series parts you might take some things into consideration: Snidely's ports are for the most part SkinStudio's ports with his fixes and missing WindowBlinds bits. Snidely does not convert all parts of his skins by hand. And the differences in the frames images (except for the pink which he removed) are simply a cause of his us

Blog Navigator 2005.01.26 (1.1.0 Build 221 - Internal) - redone the locking mechanism - now the lock will only be made if it is free to be locked, otherwise the thread will sleep and wait patiently for it's turn, to try 100 ms later. - fix for Ctr+Tab not always working to close the current browser. - dragging the tree nodes over one another (when ordering) is not sluggish any longer. - fixed the crash on "New article" on a blog account that does not have any subblo

Hus and Woodbridge made an excellent point. I did a number of ports, some manually, some with help of SkinStudio, heck I've made the porter and converted thousands of msstyles in the process and I can tell you there is no such thing as a perfect one click port and there never will be. Yes, the port is currently accurate and it transforms all msstyles details to a WB skin but... All the ports I've made so far and those I'm about to upload soon

I use Photoshop Elements 2 and Photoshop album and have to agree with Byron. Only that I have a worse experience with 3.0. I installed it on my daugher's computer because I did not want to mess my collection in case I wanted to get rid of it. And it looks I was right. This thing is incredibly slow. The computer is not a speed demon but is not incredibly outdated as well. It's an Athlon 1700+ XP and the apps are crawling on it. Just maximizing t

The memories are written in stone. In the digital age those are multiplied thousands and millions of times. I do not feer those will be lost, what I fear though is that with the last breath of the last witness the twisting will become more frequent and more aparent and there will be no one who were there to stand infront of a weasel like the unfamous Mark Weber and confront and ashame him.

Today is the 60th anniversary of liberation of the Auschwitz concentation camp. Probably the last round anniversary with so many witnesses still alive. Auschwitz was a German Nazzis' camp of mass murder which took the death toll of about 1.5 million people. Most of them were Jews from Poland and surrounding countries, Pole

I think you ran a skin that schrunk them. Then running a skin with regular ttlebar height does not cause them to restore to the proper size properly.

I think the site is simply in the works. I've just recently lost all my admin access to the site. Please be patient while Pat and the gang take care of the advanced fetures. Mailing Pat would be more on track of solving it than posting here.

This was indeed a problem with an older version of SkinStudio. The skin you've created is most probably in USF. You may try to either update skinstudio or select UIS2 as the working format in the oobmbo while creating it.

FAR - http://farmanager.com/ whetever I do - it's plugin system is so extensive that it's almost an operating system for them. Incredibly fast and lightweight. I guess I'm tainted by the DOS times though - not everyone can stand console apps any longer. Photoshop Elements is the other one - I cannot afford and honestly do not need all the things in regular Photoshop. I like Firefox - but would do with any browser with tabbed UI. Yup, we've dealt with the problem right after PS CS went out. it's done completely automatically, and user may not even realize it in most times and most certainly does not have to care. AFAIK the translucancy in PS CS is just gone. also PSP does not have it enabled by default. and you have to perform some magic to enable it.

I have partially answered it on your blog - some more follows... If you're using the SP2 on XP you should be OK. Blog Navigator brings all IE SP2 shields up the moment it starts. So unless you click on one of those "Yes please infect my computer with lots of malicious spyware" buttons, I would think you should be relatively safe - all the sercurity features are enabled by default - including ActiveX warnings and popup blockng. I hope you will enjoy BN as much as we do. Should you hav
