25 minutes on the treadmill, THR (124) workout. Machines: abs, calf extension, back extension, leg press. 2 eggs, 2 egg substitutes, salsa... Protein bar... But then, the Air Force was having a spaghetti lunch fund-raiser: all you can eat for $3. The spaghetti was donated and there was a prize for the dish that earned the most votes, but it wo

I did a 13:46 mile!!!! I know that sucks for most people, but for me that's HUGE. I usually do TWENTY minute miles! That is a huge improvement... Shaving off 1/3 of your time! Good job. If you made that same improvement again, you'd be at a sub-10-minute mile. Minimum passing time for the Army 2 mile run for your age is 20:30. That's a doable goal, if you're looking for goals. Whatever your goals are, keep up the good work!

Oh. Fruitabu is an organic brand fruit-roll-up kind of snack. These are strawberry, but they also have grape and raspberry. Basically, it's a cheat snack. I don't really need 10g of extra carbs in my day, but they're tasty (and they go away real quick-like, too). My consistency is fine... on the weekdays. Generally, I get too crazy on the weekends and it takes me until about Wednesday to settle my weight back down to what it

He says he's resigned to it but I can tell it hurts him (the knee AND the fact that he won't graduate). Your husband is kind of a "tough guy" and Raven is one of those "high speed schools." I know a Sergeant here who had a similar joint injury that washed him out of Sapper school; he wasn't an Engineer

And we all know how I feel about military hair cuts. I've gotta get a fresh high-and-tight tomorrow (I usually leave the bangs a bit longer, though). Doing two color guards on Friday...

I've been going grey for about 5 (or more) years now. It's not supposed to be stress induced... but my divorce sure seemed to speed it along. Still, I'm thankful for it. 1) It's almost kind of dashing, since it's all pretty much right up front in my bangs, especially on my right side away from my part (which isn't really a part when I keep it military length). 2) In my family, it's early grey or early balding. Hooray for grey!

What, no calorie totals? I've avoided it on the weekends. I mean, large popcorn with butter? I don't know if I can count that high. What movie did you guys see? </T

Bacon and onion sandwich on wheat with extra bacon, mayo and a side of bacon. Lean Cuisine for lunch. Large popcorn and a coke at the theater. Popeye's for dinner. Apple crisps for a snack.

On my long drive to Fort Hood yesterday, I was of course assaulted by the variety of roadkill omnipresent on Texas's highways. I had cringe-worthy near misses with birds, mostly of the scavenger variety as they left their sun-baked feasts just in the nick of time. I recall thinking, "Fucking bird!" and wondered if he must have thought, "Fucking car!" I sa

I used to think that I didn't have a good work ethic. On the drive home today, I imagined a conversation with someone I had never met. (Six hours in the car does this to me.) I was talking with her about kids and motivation. I said, "I didn't have a very good work ethic when I was younger," but then realized that wasn't totally accurate. At the time, I was descri

Today wasn't as bad for me as I thought it might be. Vitamin water before I hit the road. Beef jerky (160 cal) and the new carb-less Rockstar (in the blue can) (20 cal) on the way. 1/2lb buffalo burger with tomato, extra onion and mayonaisse with onion rings and a beer, and another carb-less Rockstar. I was going to be good today, but I wound up in a foul mood almost right off the bat. One BIG encouraging bit this morning was weighing myself at 216.0 lb after PT, but things continued to pile on me all morning. I didn't have my mid-morning snack and wound up splurging (big time) at the new BBQ place on base. 3 eggs, salsa for post-PT breakfast (PT was 25

I was 219.5 this morning, which is barely lighter than I've been lately. I'm having problems getting below 220, which is a shame, because stripping the next 14 pounds should really rip me up. Yes, "force adjustments." Stressing that this is not related to "that surge thing we did," the Department of Defense announced yesterday the identities of the next 10 brigade combat teams that will deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. These units consist (or will consist, if they become fully staffed) of approximately 35,000 personnel (where have we seen th

IT'S A CUNSPIRASY!!!!!!!!!! It's spelled "conspiracy." There's a reason: cons = NeoCons and piracy = well, piracy. You know. Arr, and shit. Seriously, though, I'm missing articles stating that the three were brought over in that political amnesty move. Could you cite a source, please? (I'm finding that the three brothers were brought over the Mexican border at a young age, but not the other bit.)

1. I'm not sure which definition of terrorism you are using. Yes, many of them talk about civilian targets, but certainly not all of them. While Wikipedia is more and more suspect as time wears on: Link 2. The military is full of "people" who exhibit "good old vigilance and patriotism." Please don't rule them out.
