What software do you already have?  If you have Windowblinds or another OD software, you should buy the Object Desktop suite. For only a little more money, you get a lot more software, including DesktopX, IconX, IconPackager, Windowblinds, WindowFX, etc :) I'm not sure if just the Desktop X software still includes IconX. I know it used to, but not sure it still does.  Nevertheless Object Desktop is the way to go.
So, what is it you don't like?  The fact that your emails are scanned the way a spam filter does, or the fact that you are served avertisement, as you already have just about everywhere on the web? Jafo, what is the difference between a spam filter "reading" your mail or a "advertisement filter" as this could be called. There IS a big difference between a software "reading" your mail or a humain.  It's like the difference between pulling your pants down in front of the TV or doing it in the subway...

What Icon X needs is the ability to skin the icon and label backgrounds. Not make it look like OSX. I just tried IconX right now to see what's new since I last tried it, and I really think something needs to be done with that rename icon feature. It's probably the only reason that stops me from using it (I change file names all the time). Don't use PSP, but I noticed a few programs indeed that don't work with Windowblinds (or work but not quite right). For example Avery DesignPro won't open at all, and File Maker Pro's buttons don't work.  Also some issues with Macromedia Fireworks (for some reason, the options in the side panels are something like 30 pixels shifted - you have to click some 30 pixels below what you wnat to click on - really weird). Anyway, I have those apps in my exclusion list.
Frogboy: if you have Photoshop, select your line tool, then click on the Geometry Options (a little arrow pointing down in your top toolbar). You can choose to have an arrow at the beginning, at the end, and choose the length, width and concavity of the arrow. And yes, Icon X still needs to have a bit more custom options. Open Task Manager (Control-Shift-Escape), kill the Litestep and Explorer processes (if they are still opened) from the Processes tab, then from the Applications tab, click on the New Task button, and write "Explorer.exe" in the dialog. I think this should bring back the Explorer shell.

As for Object Dock icons, I must say that I like it when they are uploaded seperatly. It makes it much easier to find what you are looking for. Typically, if I need a Photoshop icon (for example), I will type "Photoshop" in the search box.

As for Object Desktop, it's a yearly subscrition that gives you access to all the Object Desktop software for a full year, instead of only buying a one time software. You know, most of us started skinning because we had something specific in mind we wanted as a skin, and the best person to do exactly the skin you want is nobody else but yourself.  Take the time it takes, in can be a few weeks or even a few months, but if you put enough work and patience into it, I'm sure you will accomplish something you will be proud of.
