I will take a look Lucky Jack. I have not done much with the printable reference recently.

Thanks for the feedback behin. Nice to know someone is looking at the site. Site updated. Hitpoints added to ships. Good and evil tech lists. abilities pages re-arranged to stop overflow. http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/
A lot better entry for bump. I might steal it :)
No one else willing to step up and share their secrets :)
After doing a re-install I lost the ability to set the advantage factor. Tried a few things by editing the prefs.ini but does not seem to help. Any suggestions ?
Jean-Claude look for a temp file called Space01.pt_ and delete that file.
1. Set the spending to 100% at the start of the game 2. After your second colony ships has left increase your tax rate to about 40% as everyone should be happy 3. Use your survey ship to find anomolies esp ships 4. Get manufacturing capital as soon as possible on your highest class planet 5. Use this planet to produce ships and trade items. But don't let the morale drop too low 6. Research things off the beaten track but give you good bonuses then use the trade items to
I am using Windows 2000 professional and I am getting the same. Galciv just exits. Nothing in the debug file no smartexception or anything similar
I do but it does not seem to catch these exceptions. Might not be installed correctly. I have redownloaded it. Hopefully it will work.
See the download errors post. it might help.
The file you have to delete is in a temp folder somewhere. On windows 2000 this is in C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Temp Think this is the same on XP. Give this a try. If this does not work or does not apply try search for the weapons.md_ file on your harddrive and then delete that file Hope this helps
Got a crash to the desktop. Nothing in the debug file but I cannot restore the last save. Caan zip it up and sent it if the developers are interested.
Finished downloading and started a game. Beta 3 is amazing. Great job guys. Overall feels a lot faster. Still trying to get a handle on all the new tech's and star base options. Again great job guys.
Just finished updating the site with all the new goodies in Beta3. The tech tree's are a little confusing at the moment I will be doing some work over the weekend to try and make them easier to follow. I also plan to add the new Alignment Category to the Research pages as well as put pages up about the resources. Enjoy http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/
finally got galciv.ex_ now just had a problem uncompressing startup.mt_. deleted it reloading it and that fixed it. Got the base going for the multimedia now :)
galciv.ex_ is still giving SDS0004 errors. Annoying as it looks like the last download for the main update. (:(
Looks like Planet20.bi_ is ok now. Could just be the server timing out. I am sure there are a lot of people downloading b3 atm :)
I am having trouble downloading galciv.ex_ and Planet20.bi_ both give SDS0004 errors after a few minutes of trying to download them.
today :)
I would not expect anything tonight. A Friday release date is more likely to be Friday afternoon/evening than early Friday morning from past experience. They are probably doing a final build tonight and will be working out the packing tommorow morning. (This is not an official statement just something I would expect them to be doing being a developer myself)
Morale is based on the population. The higher the population hte lower the morale unless you have tech's to counteract. At the moment this needs some tweaking. I think we will see some improvement in Beta 3
Your second question is a known bug. The first question is answered by have the second constructor be moved onto the first and you will asked if you want to upgrade the starbase. For possible upgrades and effects looks here http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/sbmodules.htm This will all change in Beta 3 by all accounts and the starbases become a lot more central to the game. Hope this helps
Minor update. More changes after the beta3 is released http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/index.htm
One way might be to drastically reduce the influence of culture when you are at war with a race.
