FWIW the comparable lists in GC II were in fact restricted to planets one had discovered. [e digicons]:)[/e]
True. I forgot about that. It was very useful that it was presented that way. It made choosing a planet for a colony ship easier.

That may be it. I only just discovered my 4th and 5th major (out of 7).
Does anyone know what is required to get the UP started? I have discovered 5 major races and can not open the Diplomacy -> United Planets window.
One feature I liked about the GC2 planet list was all of the ways the list could be sorted. There were a few ways I used more than others, but I think I used at least half of the sort options regularly.
Emmagine, you make some good points and suggestions. Thanks for your observations.
Save games can sometimes become corrupted, so whenever a new update comes along I tend to start a new game. They certainly might work, but I find it easier to start over to avoid any issues. It is getting a bit late in the
This game is one of the first to be programmed to take advantage of 64 bit addressing, which is quite new to the game entertainment industry. This gives the game more room to keep track of objects in the game, which takes more CPU cycles to process. Add to that the tradition of GC using all of the processors available and GC3 will use more of the CPU resources than any other game. GC has also traditionally processed some of the AI functions during the human player's turn, which results in
The Govern -> commands window has the same problem. The snapshot is at https://www.dropbox.com/s/adqo4iahrja5f4c/Screenshot 2015-04-01 18.14.12 Command upgrade window.png?dl=0
Something just doesn't look right with this upgrade window. Why are there over 125 entries for a "scout", all of them identical? You can see a snapshot at https://www.dropbox.com/s/6aevw0gvnllmwul/Screenshot%202015-04-01%2017.57.38%20upgrade%20window%20screwy.png?dl=0 I have submitted a ticket.
I just discovered a class 25 planet that soil enhancement works on. The snapshot is at https://www.dropbox.com/s/vy5opzlyhfao9lt/Screenshot%202015-04-01%2017.09.28%20soil%20enhancement%202.png?dl=0
Lars, did they actually say that this is the way it was going to be???
Since you haven't completed the exploration of your Galaxy, could it be there two stars with the name "zilpha"? Maybe the star name generator is malfunctioning.
While what you both say sounds possible, I think the terraforming techs should always work on all planets. After all, that is how it worked on GC1 & 2. If this is not the case, I am sure the devs will tell me so in their response to my ticket, and I will post that response here,.
I was trying to add a usable tile in the planet screen with the Soil Enhancement project, but it failed to display any tiles for the project. Instead, it selected the tile that had the "colony capital" already built on it. It also failed to show the "soil enhancement" project as selected in the "available projects" list. A picture can be seen at https://ww
I see you have listed tile types as "square" and "hex". I am now trying to remember if the main map tiles on GC-OS2 were the same as on GC1 (arranged horizontally). With that in mind, would it be reasonable to call the horizontal ones square and the diagonal ones diamonds? This would make GC-OS2 square, GC1 square, GC2 diamond, and GC3 hex. It is also a good view into how one aspect of the technology of 4X games has progressed over the last two decades.
And I am playing a custom race I based on the Terrans.
Thanks, Lars. I didn't think to look there.
Thanks, I'll try that, but it seems wrong to me that the survey ship that I created with weapons should lose them when analyzing an anomaly. In the battle viewer it shows that the weapons are not there.
The column for research has a manufacturing icon as a header, the income column has a research icon, and the manufacturing column has an income icon.
I am continuing to lose survey ships, even ones I have designed to have weapons, to pirates hiding in ship graveyards. It seems that the weapons totally lose effectiveness when they try to analyze the anomaly. No other war ship is able to get at these pirates because they can't analyze anomalies. So how do I kill them?
On drops previous to Beta 5 (0.80) the main map had a list of the resources your empire was mining (same place as the list of planets). Has that list been moved to somewhere else or was it removed? I found that list useful and would like to be able to refer to it.
After saving a game on Beta 5 and reloading it hovering the pointer over the research field at the top left of the main screen shows "NA turns remaining". Since the game is recalculating the turns remaining for planet project queues, shouldn't it also recalculate the time remaining for research projects?
While this did happen on one of my battles, it doesn't always happen that way, and when one of my other ships gets selected the camera moves to that ship and the location of the battle is no longer apparent. Also, if there were two or more enemy (in this case, pirate) initiated battles the location of only the last battle would be shown. What we need is a log of what happened during the EOT processing.
After processing an end of turn where I have been attacked, I really, really, really need to be able to go to the location of the battle.

Am I to understand that this time of tribulation will soon be over? In other words, is this the n
