I was running through my library of widgets (I assume they are widgets. The files all end in ".exe". Maybe they're gadgets?) In any case, when I clicked on a file to activate it, nothing shows up on my screen. If I go to task manager, it says that the program is running, it just doesn't show on the screen. If it's relevant, I recently changed monitors, and went from a 1280x1024 resolution to 1680x1050. Is it possible that has pushed the widget off the screen somehow? The bas

Quickie question, and if it will addressed later, please ignore it. Once you have an image up on the screen, can you resize the image? make it smaller or larger? And another question: is it possible to mix states in an object, i.e have the mouse away state be an image, and have the mouse over state be text?
In one of my periodic attempts to rework my GUI, I have been using ObjectBar, version 2.00.009 which is the latest non-beta version available to me on SDC. While I have several questions to work through (such as how to get a working start menu button incorporated into the bar) the problem of the moment is that this version of OB seems to be running afoul of XP Home Edition 2002 SP2; specifically the Data Execution Prevention program, which geberates an error message and shuts down OB.
Sir Bichur, Your comment made me go back and look. I had never noticed it (mostly because I didn't know what it was), but pre-release was checked in SDC. When I unchecked it, version 5.49e.026 disappeared from the "available" column. From the restore function I noticed that I had been operating with version 5.00.001. With pre-release turned off, the update version offered was 5.10.009 so I tried stepping up to that from 5.00.001. Unfortunately, 5.10.009 gave me the sam
I am looking to improve my machine's video performance. I use a Dell d8400 with 1.5GB Ram and a 3GHz Pentium4. The card I have now is an ATI Radeon X300 w/ 128Mb which I got orignally because I wasn't overly concerned about video performance. In general, the current card works decently, as I don't place huge demands on my machine in terms of video. However, I will occasionally watch a movie, or a video through iTunes or WMP or another player. What I have noticed, especially in iTun
I just wanted to post a quick comment about the latest build: 5.49e .026 for the developers. I had downloaded the build and found that it worked very poorly on my machine. (A dell d8400 w/ XP SP2, 3 GHz Pentium4, 1.5GB Ram.) Inevitably, when I tried to change a skin, the process would begin, "please wait" would pop up on my screen, and ..... nothing. After rebooting my machine about 15 times, I restored the 5.00.001 build, which works just fine. I might have misunderstood,
To Cavan1: I followed your suggestions and, although the preview shot in Window Blinds showed no change, the changes do show up in actual use. Thanks for the help.
I was looking through DevianArt recently and found this visual style: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/45968310/ Called Sh4rp by The Greenhouse Troll (TGT Design) I did not find a Windowblinds versioni here on the site, so I downloaded the VS and converted it to WB format in SkinStudio, for my personal use. However, I didn't like the taskpane color in the Shell, as it was a dull, flat blue which didn't really seem to work well in my opinion. So using SkinSt
Interesting. Out of all the posts do far, mine is the only one that mentions McAfee. That tells me something. I neglected to mention that I do run Ad-Aware and Spybot (although the goal I assume is one day not to need all these separate programs). In any case, I have a bunch of names to check and programs to evaluate. With a little luck I will be able to ditch McAfee and reclaim some of my memory sometime soon. Thanks to everyone who responded. All of it was q
I was curious to find out which anti-virus/firewall programs people liked and used. Over time I have tried a couple of different programs, and never been extremeley happy with them for various reasons. I used Symantec/Norton for a while, and it had a tendency to crash my machine every time an update came out, requiring reverification with the company, unloading/reloading the program, etc. At the moment I am using the McAfee Security Center Suite, and while it works reasonabl
I have been playing around with the new Objectbar 2.0, and I have to say it is working much better than the old version. I think that it may replace ObjectDock in the grand scheme. However -- I can not seem to find a way to change the font in any way, other than to change the font color. Is there any way to substitute a new font for the default? This would be a very nice feature and if it's not possible now, I would hope that it would be in the next build. Thank
I am using WB 5.01f .010, blind VistaAurora 5365 (and its shellstyle) I have downloaded the 1.00.002 version twice now and have had the following problems: 1) After downloading and rebooting the system, there were no changes to any of the screens. I called up My Documents, Explorer etc, and saw no changes 2) Operating on the assumption that the program would not simply load automatically on startup, I went in and started the program manually. This
"1.29[b].003 dated 4/11/06 has all the features described" Sorry, but according to Stardock Central, that is the version I now have on my machine and NONE of the described features are present. And for Mr. hherbzilla, he of "Fairly easily found under Positioning", when I say "I don't see it as an option anywhere in the menus either in Dock Settings or Tab Settings" I would hope that people understand that I have examined all the s
I guess I am in th esame position as Mr kin. Although I have paid for a full subscription, Stardock Central is still downloading 1.29[b].003 dated 4-11-06. All I can figure is that this is not the new beta release. What is the new beta;s build number? Does anyone have any idea why it is not showing up as available for download in Stardock Central?
What/where is "Automatic distance from edge"? I don't see it as an option anywhere in the menus either in Dock Settings or Tab Settings - I made sure to uninstall the old OD before installing the new OD so I should have gotten a clean install, but this option doesn't appear anywhere that I can see. The command file shows as ObjectDock.exe. If this isn't correct please let me know. Also, re "When mouse activation is checked, d
Since the new release is now out in Beta I suppose that this is a little late, but when you folks start working on OD 1.31 (or whatever you choose to call it), could you FINALLY do something about OD's (lack of) theme managment? Could you please do us the really simple but incredibly important favor of having the active OD theme name load when we get into the "save theme/ load theme" options? If other folks are like me, they might have 10 or 15 differe
I guess I need to try an uninstall/reinstall - I see no such option on any of the menus in the "Configure IconX" popups
I just downloaded IconX - I thought I would give it a try and compare it other programs like Avedesk etc to see if it would become part of the suite of programs I use - I just want to know if I am missing something really obvious here - Is there no option to select within IconX that adds it to the normal suite of programs that activate at startup (the way Windowblinds or ObjectDock do)? Before I go through a process of trying to p

I went to download a wallpaper a few minutes ago and got a nice long message about how I needed to buy a product or subscription to continue downloading because I had exceeded my 50 MB limit. Since I have given Stardock quite a lot of money over the last year or so, and am a level 4 customer and theoretically entitled "to unlimited file downloading on WinCustomize", I am assuming that the recent upgrades to the Wincustomize computers has scr
In more screenshots than I can count, I keep seeing a DesktopX widget which I believe is called "Cornered" - It contains basic machine info (CPU, memory, etc.), weather info, date & time, in a layout that sits in the corner of the screen. I have searched the WinCustomize site as many ways as I can think of, but I can't find the widget. Is it no longer available? LOcated on another site? Thanks to anyone who can point me in the righ
Master Kol - Thanks for the help - very easy once you know where to look.
Newbie here so take pity. In Kol's details about his most recent VistaXP style he says: "To install the horizaontal shellstyle go to SkinStudio. Then on the file menu go to Tools > WindowBlinds > Import shell style file" Which sounds simple enough. However, when I go to Skinstudio and follow his instructions, I get a "Open" command box which asks me for a file name - First, is it asking me for the name
Another one I am happy with (Image removed by moderator) WB5 is Aura Icons are Alienware OD is Aero No.3 again I found the wall at Deviant Art (don't remember the author) Widgets - OMNI slideshow and Clear Meter Bar All else is Samurize
