Thanks for the reply Neil, very enlightening, the workaround you provided worked brilliantly (I thought for sure I had already done that, musta been the wrong damned .exe I tried with) and my machine is back to the way I wanted it, I don't mind waiting for the Winblows "please wait" for a few seconds each user login. I look forward to the day when I can once again be a fully functioning customer & I don't have to screw around with old freeware nonsense

Well I sure did enjoy my "free" trial of WB5 but if I had known when I installed it that I'd never be able to run my paid-for (albeit expired ((but working wonderfully nonetheless)) version after 5 flaked out I NEVER would have gone anywhere near the damned thing... hardly worth it at all. I KNEW that I wouldn't be able to purchase 5 for quite some time but I figured (foolishly?) that I'd always be able to go back to my previous version in the meantime
Same as everyone else probably, machine can only boot into safe mode, when attempting to boot "normally" the machine goes into a restart loop... there are a LOT of people with this problem, seems nobody's ("officially" anyway) talking about it.. nothing from Stardock.. pity. smooches, » Phy³ . . .
So.. no "official" response then? Nothing from Stardock at all? Wow. Strong work. smooches, » Phy³ . . .
I noticed a LOT of people had the no-start problem after installing BootSkins, like myself. Some said they even went as far as re-installing their OS.. me I just uninstalled BS in safe mode & voila! My PC started up just as it always has for years.. why did BS make my PC unbootable? Can you tell me that young fella? smooches, » Phy³ . . .
A good friend of mine has recently taken his photography online, he has made a few nice wallpapers free for download, take a peek here: http://www.paladin-photo.com (goto the "gallery" drop-down to the Desktop Wallpapers section) I hope I''''''''m not accused of spamming, I just really think his wallpapers are awesome, real-life can _sometimes_ be a nice break from crazy digitalblasphemy-type walls (not that there''''''''s anything wrong with those.. O) smooches, » Phy³ . . .
I guess this means no, huh? smooches, » Phy³ . . .
Still no news? Wazzzzup? smooches, » Phy³ . . .
Much thankies Jafo! You da man! ;O) smooches, » Phy³ . . .
Sweeet Jafo.. now where's the bootscreen & Logon? Pixtudio??? Pbbbleeeaase????? Hello??? smooches, » Phy³ . . . (yes, many thanks to the Zippo corp for an amazing suite!)
The rest of the suite looks just awesome, great work, I love it. Just needs a Logon & a BootSkin to be "complete" then I'd be a happy camper. What are the chances of these 2 things getting done? Pbbleaase??? smooches, » Phy³ . . .
I dunno if you can do that without using the registry editor, here's how to do it with the registry editor (stolen from TweakXP.com): In the Registry Editor window, locate the following registry key: HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop In the right pane, double-click SCRNSAVE.EXE. In the Edit String dialog box, type the name of the screen saver that you want in the Value data box, and then click OK. For example, if you want to use the Mystify screen saver as your logon screen saver
Too bad that Windowblinds theme can't be found anymore.. "Alexandrie's Aquarium" can anyone link it for me? I've been looking all over for it, the stupid thing is that I know my Mother-in-law is running that theme right now on her desktop, I put it there for her, now I can't find it anywhere, can anyone help me? Please? smooches, » Phy³ . . .
Aha! "New Theme" then I just started Importing objects.. lookit all the fishies! Very cool! I noticed that the newer (downloaded) fish objects actually turn around when they get to the edge of the screen, unlike the ones that just "flip" to reverse. I am so impressed with this. All the fish just look so awesome, excellent work all you fish object makers!!! Keep 'em coming. smooches, » Phy³ . . .
I found a PERFECT one here: http://images.countingdown.com/images/countdowns/movies/573360/1013/3075674_large.jpg Now if I could only figure out how to unload the TOON-XP theme (that does not list in DesktopX's configuration - shows "nothing" as current theme) I could get some fish objects happening. Anyone else have this same problem? How did you fix it? Thanks, smooches, » Phy³ . . .
I sit corrected, thanks Hippy. smooches, » Phy³ . . . (p.s. get a haircut!)
It's just taking up space, I mean sure it's cute'n all but hey now... Winkey + M Now take back that valuable little piece of real estate in your Quick Launch! smooches, » Phy³ . . .
Thanks knatzz & goodmorphing, it was indeed ObjectBar that took it over, fixed it all up now. Hippy, I knew it wasn't DesktopX, I stopped running that awhile ago because it slows down my startup horribly & I got tired of waiting and looking at that "startup manager" dialog all the time while waiting too long for my machine to start, also even though it looks great I never really ever used it much at all anyways. smooches, » Phy³ . . .
I'm not quite sure which program replaced my right-click pop-up, I never had a reason to complain before, it was nice & skinned with some different (than default) links & so on. But now when I right-click (anywhere, usually on the blank desktop) the two parts aren't together anymore & I'll be a monkey's Uncle if I can figure out how to put them back together again, I don't think the two parts can be dragged anywhere either. I realize that I may not have described the "problem" very well, so here
I hafta agree with KarmaGirl, they USED TO be the shiznat, now they're just shi... er.. crappy. I gave up on them when I fired up Napster one day & got the message "you have been banned from using Napster by Metallica..." etc. That very day I unsubscribed to their newsletter & vowed to NEVER give them another thin dime outta my pocket. What clinched it for me though was Lars' answer in an interview when asked if we wasn't afraid of aliennating the fans & he said something to the effect
By gum it's dang'd near the weekend... I'm gonna pop waiting! Oh well... at least I have Postal 2 to kill the time.. and boy howdee does it! Truly depraved in each and every disgusting detail, I love it. Those blamed "loading zones" though, they can REALLY drive you nervous, if it weren't so horribly addictive a feller wouldn't be able to put up with 'em, consarnit! How's it plum possible for me to both
Yes, that's why I put the winky smiley in, cuz I know that the only pay you get is all of us showering you with praise & compliments (which ain't enough consarnit!) smooches, » Phy³ . . . (thanks again!)
Heya mormegil, I'm not trying to bug you, I'm just curious when the ETA of the FauxS-TOON Logon is? I'm loving this theme combo SO MUCH and I'm just aching for it to be complete. Also, thank you VERY VERY much for everything that you've done so far, as you may have noticed I've stopped whining about Toon-XP since your extra goodies came along. I don't know how much they're paying you but it ain't enough dag gummit! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 AL
Using FauxS-TOON with all the goodies, thanks to mormegil for all the extra goodness. Now all I need is a Logon & maybe (hopefully) a WinAmp skin, then the look will be complete! smooches, » Phy³ . . .
The first ascii art I tried to post was a Happy Birthday teddy bear but when I realized that it wouldn't work here I edited it out and tried a more simple one (the one you saw) which was just a housecat with 3's for eyes. If there was any way to use 'pre-formatted' text here I could post a BUNCH of lovely ascii art, I have accumulated quite a collection. Oh well, they say it's the thought that counts I guess. Hope you're having an excellent Birthday! (they don't have you working, do
