I run at 1366x768 fine on my laptop. Reducing the UI scaling is necessary. After you set the resolution, and restart the game, the UI scaling value does not automatically change but can only be set to a lower maximum value (70%). If the UI scaling is set to this value or lower you should be ok.

Game 1, 2v2, was pretty awesome. Game 2, 3v3, was effectively a last man standing as everyone started crashing one by one.
I will only trust that, when multyplayer synchronize files that, when there is a diferent file to a cheat player will say [x player is cheat] or just crash before start.
If it runs off the server then they won't be cheating, so there is no need to crash or brand people. Some people might use mods for single player and forget to turn them off.
The video was of the benchmark, which is always different since its playing the game and the AI makes different decisions. I'm guessing you didn't watch the comparison video linked in the original post either.
I have, the camera work in the video was not magically better than the still captures that were taken from it. If you look at recent benchmarks (not from the pre-alpha) you will see th
dude ......... can you not tell those are pictures of screens.
Agreed. This does not look like a good comparison. Also, the scenes compared were not identical, so different effects are happening at the same time. Example: Fig3. Firing main cannon on LHS, and secondary railgun on RHS. The additional bloom could feasibly be due to excessive brightness on one monitor compared to the other. The RHS
I like the Turing test experience that the bots bring. None of the bots have passed this test yet though. I live in NZ, and there is almost never anyone online when I am playing, of the ranked matches that I have played only one was confirmed to be human. Without bots the game would be unplayable for me at this time. I would be more than happy to dedicate processing time to running AI vs AI simulation matches if this would help the AI programmers.
I wonder if it has something to do with Into CPU's. People who have amd say they do not crash,
I have an Intel i7 CPU which is getting old and has recently put both feet out the door (unstable BCLK fluctuating between 90-98MHz), which is constantly running at 100% video encoding in the background. AotS hasn't crashed for me yet.
They already have sprites coming out.
Everyone's eyes are different. Some people see frame rate as more of an issue, while others want to see finer details. It is your choice what you prefer. Increasing the resolution typically makes aliasing less of an issue. However, it is still an issue. Some people might find they can get away with 1x or 2x MSAA at 2160p, but may need 4x at 1080p. Others may find 2x MSAA sufficient at 1080p. Increasing your resolution 4 fold results in a big hit to frame rate,
I added my name to the credits, do I win the competition? The game is highly moddable, if you want to be in the credits, just add yourself in (file location: Ashes of the Singularity\Assets\UI\FrontEnd\credits.xml).
We have the rank ladder. Those who want to gloat can climb it. FRESHSpaghetti-Gandalf is currently ranked #1. DI purple monkey isn't in the top 100. There are multiple "theDude", none really stand out. wasa (not Wasa) is ranked #5, below Asad. ASAD should be Asad, currently ranked #4. Asad came out as a painful AI bot not too long ago. The devs have stated elsewhere in the fo
Inexperienced players are always going to be at a disadvantage to experienced players. No amount of tampering with units will magically resolve this. If you play on reasonable sized maps, this minor potential issue is solved.
Was it 'ASAD' or 'Asad', these are different players. https://forums.ashesofthesingularity.com/475133/page/1/ You should capture a nearby node with your engineer before the creeps spawn, this will boost your early economy. Are the cheats that you found for single or multiplayer?
so just to confirm, you agree with that, right? The default is going to be the right-mouse button. Let it go
If one resource depletes, and there are tasks which use both resources, then the rate at which both resources are actually being used drops. However the rate at which the other resource is actually being used does not get recalculated yet so it displays what the rate would be if the other resource had not been depleted.
I would still recommend rerunning memtest. Components wear out, even though your computer may have been fine over the last three years, it could have developed an issue over time. AotS can use large amounts of system memory, which might be using muscles in your PC that hasn't flexed in so long that it forgot that it had them. After you have confirmed that your system does not have any hardware or driver related issues I recommend saving your games regularly, until y
It sounds like you're moving your mouse and/or holding right click too long or perhaps your performance is low and your system is lagging?
Of course the mouse is going to be moving. If I put energy into accelerating the mouse towards the target, I do not want to waste energy decelerating the mouse prior to reaching the target location as this will only increase the time to get to the destination. Bringing the mouse
Yes, unfortunately you will never have everyone happy with the right/middle mouse button debate. I would personally prefer the middle mouse button to move the screen, as many times when using the right click to give a move order, it doesn't register due to a light mouse movement which instead moves the screen. This is something that I would like to reconfigure. It is very rare that I find it necessary to rotate the screen to get a different angle view, so having this easily access
It would make sense for players if 100% was scaled to each resolution (not as it would appear scaled to the original 1080p assets). The beta introduced several issues with the scaling particularly for screens higher than 1080p, I hope this is resolved in the next patch. The sky cleanser does need a rebalance. It, looks like it would be better as a squad of 3 units instead of 1. Although I would expect that these units should not be the staple AA, and Dominators and Blos
What resolution and UI scaling are you using? There might be an issue with your configuration file having a UI scale setting that is higher than the resolution can support. Set your UI scaling in the game options and restart AotS, if it is still outside the screen try decreasing the UI scale setting. If I change from 1920x1080 resolution to 1366x768, then restart, the UI scale stays at 1 (100%), and all of the menus push out of the screen, and it is unplayable. However,
Substrate feel quite different to me. I do not think that factions need to be extremely diverse to have a good enjoyable RTS. Turinium/victory points have been in the game a while, it seems odd that this is the first time you have come across it. Victory points can be adjusted or disabled in the game lobby if you prefer to have only an annihilation victory condition. If you mouse over the victory core HUD, it gives a description: "Capture Turinium
There is a limit to the number of units that can be selected at once, and there is a bug which occasionally prevents the selection rings from disappearing when deselecting units. This can be perceived as non-responsive units and can make controlling armies larger than ~1K at a time difficult. There is also an inconsistent delay with using the drag box which gets worse as the system gets under heavier load.
Have you read the Official "Can My PC Run This" Thread under the support section? https://forums.ashesofthesingularity.com/470503/page/1/ You should meet minimum requirements. I personally wouldn't recommend purchasing a new graphics card to play an early access title. There are still performance issues and bugs with NVIDIA cards which should be resolved by release, at which time i
There are many RTS games that use the engineer model, and others which do not. Either way there is still base management in both situations, which does require time spent managing it. Early economic victory improved the odds, however it did not guarantee military victory in Supreme Commander. You could play AotS with a resource mod if that is your cup of tea. It is a simple process tweaking a couple of csv files.
Using firefox on my system, the youtube icon is missing as in the above picture. However, mousing over the location next to the ab icon where the youtube icon should be highlights the invisible youtube icon region and gives a "Insert Youtube Video" tooltip. Clicking it brings up the youtube video embedding prompt box.
