But tone is hard to convey via textual communication. The internet is terrible for sarcastic people like me. I meant nothing by it. I apologize for any miscommunication. I certainly appreciate Bandit's work on icons, as well as everyone else working on them. I appreciate everyone who contr

Yeah, I've had a lot of problems too. But I'm hoping that it will all be resolved soon by moving to the new servers, or something else. Is there any way to know when things will get back to normal?

I think it's better for things to be a bit screwy for a week or two, and to have things done properly. Apparently, they're redoing parts of the site and dealing with new servers, and selling the new game which all benefits us at WC. It's better for them to do things well and take their time, than to rush and half-ass everything to appease people who are complaining. Remember, your subscriptions aren't just about uptime, but all the behind the scenes st

Once in a while when I try to load up a game, I get an error that says 'Unable to initialize DirectDraw.' I can restart my computer and it works, but I'm wondering what's causing the error. When I go into DirectX Diagnostic and test DirectDraw, it does the first two steps fine, but at the third I get an error with these results: DirectDraw test results: Failure at step 17 (SetDisplayMode to 640x480x16): HRESULT = 0x80004001 (Not implemented)

Is there a way to add an icon to hide in TweakUI? I don't want to disable 'Show Desktop Items,' but there are some folders on my desktop I'd rather not move. I have Avedesk shortcuts taking their place, though. Hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread, sgand.

Heh, why do people who steal the programs always get mad when the crack screws everything up? You got what was coming to you, in my opinion. And don't get attitude when people try to help you, even though you were stealing. Be grateful.

I think the problem is that some people have unreasonable expectations. Rather than taking an update of Apogee as being a good thing - something that we're doing well beyond what we need to do, we get treated as if not having significant FREE updates to it out instantly as being a negative. If you g

When I'm surfing around, I ignore all the myspace and blogs and whatnot. I find it all pretty annoying. But when people bring their online world into reality, that just creeps me out. People talk about myspace like it's a real place. They 'meet' people and have ten billion 'friends.' People have started to use internet shorthand in verbal communication. Can you imagine someone making a lame joke and adding 'Oh, J-K.' Needless to say,

This situation reminds me of when Konfabulator was bought by Yahoo and became Yahoo Widget Engine. All people did was complain about how the name changed and how they were so outraged the name changed and they'll stop using the program because the name changed. They didn't like how there was no direct download installation and it was the worst thing anyone has ever done in all of time. Back in reality, Yahoo's aquisition allowed for further

Point being? Are you saying the opinions of non-subscribers aren't valid? You pay $20 for one year. I bet the downtime was maybe .1% of the year, if that. Meaning 99.9% of the time WinCustomimze was up. If you are buying server space for a website, the host will usually guarantee 99.9% uptime, never 100%. So there was no big loss, or ripoff, or blow to your lives. This was an isolated incident, which seems to be fixed now. As I sa

It looks like nobody has a problem letting the Stardock people in, as long as they're not judging their own categories. Makes sense to me. In the real Olympics, countries judge athletes from their own country, and most of the time they do it fairly. I see no reason not to trust you all. If it were done by Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, there would have to be strict criteria, so an Advanced person wouldn't enter Beginner and

Vista is a word in English. And according to dictionary.com, it's of Italian roots. I always found it ironic that vista means a wide or panoramic view, and many of the desktops offered are highly zoomed in photos of grass or leaves. I guess they're trying to be ironic. I think it's inevitable that people will find a way to eliminate DRM and encrpytion from Vista, whether it's hacking or whatever. But I don't want DRM or a hacked OS on my com
