Windows has a specific 2GB page file that you cannot alter/delete affect in any way on C:. This is fixed Keill, that is a bit of interesting information, can you point me to where I can read more about it? I have never heard of this "hidden" page file before, and I have been working with PCs for a good long while.

I don't know about you, but I generally have the occasional influence starbase within my own borders, it saves me having to waste land on influence-generating planetary installations. "The universe is a big place, perhaps the biggest" - Kurt Vonnegut P.S.: Donteatmyface, I recommend you read up on the history of Hong Kong. Not just the recent history, but all of it, going back to before British colonialism.

GalCiv2 maps are not quite as random as you might think. There is a lot going on "under the hood" to give each player, computer and human, a fair chance.

That's more of an issue if the game is set to a higher res than the Windows desktop. RaggaB, you have Award BIOS v6.00PG, that (base) BIOS is 5 years old (obviously yours would be newer, but may still not be the most recent available). You might want to go to the website of the manufacturer of your motherboard and look for a more recent BIOS, and then of course update your motherboard drivers to match.

General Mobius, what world do you live in? The one I live in has things called copyrights and intellectual property. The one that the people at Stardock live in does too. Stardock would be sued right out of existence if they put in anything from Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, or any other intellectual property. Only the player community can make anything that copies, imitates or even resembles too closely any copyright

Perhaps you have created your page file improperly, or created the static page file but forgot to delete the dynamic one? Perhaps it is just a reporting problem, due to your very small, non-standard page file? before you go on a bender over it, run a Dxdiag report and check to see what is really going on, then check to make sure you don't have multiple paging files. There are also settings in Windows to tell the OS to govern memory in specif

GC does not fit the MP mold. Do it like dozens of other companies have done when they wanted to change the "flavour" of a game - make it into a completely new game, an offshoot of the main game. Take out all of the elements that make GC2 a slow-paced, relaxed (relatively), turn-based game and make "Galactic Battles" (or some less cheesy name), using the GC style, but playing more like Total Annihilation or Command & Conquer. Have battle maps that include battles "out in space", battle

They will still always go to the same place. Building scouts is pointless unless you want to manually move them. Personally I start games with Stellar Cartography and build custom Colony ships right from the start with higher move points, and let them do practically all of the exploring, although I still set the flag ship to autoexplore.

Simple solution: Turn off autosave! Sheesh! I would also recommend looking for a BIOS update for your motherboard, 1.0 version BIOSes universally suck. Make sure you back up your BIOS to a floppy before you update it (very important!) You could also use a video driver update, but at least yours is reasonably recent compared to some I've seen posted here, although I recommend an ATI or SoftMod driver Omega. They are effective, but extremely e

I don't bother researching much in the way of weapons or defenses until about halfway through the game, jsut enough so I can build scads of small and tiny ships to get a perceived military strength so that I get to choose when i go to war. By the time I need to research weapons, I will be looking at who I want to attack and seeing what their specialties are, then I can build a bunch of transports and base hulls while I race up a particular b

Your video driver is outdated, download an updated driver from ATI, SoftMod or (if you like to take risks) Omega. Windows XP SP2 should have absolutely no effect on GC2 whatsoever.

Good, now if they'd just clear out all the old scores so that everyone is on a level palying field, the metaverse might actually be close to respectable as a comparison of player skill.

I usually put 3-5 engines on my ships. The more engines you have the more movement points you have. That means range. And the more movement points you have, the more enemy ships you can take out in a single move. That's fine, if you have room left over for enough weapons to seriously overpower your o

RODY it says "all your base are belong to us" i have a screenshot of it, and its not bad grammar or anything, thats the way it should be. Actually, it is horrible grammar, and it also is how it should be, because it is based on an example of bad translation in an arcade console video game. </font
