I have a save game of a 4D game, which is REALLY screwed up. I noticed some time ago, that the "turns to completion" nomination was way off. Now the research screen music plays over the normal music, the research doesn't pop up after research anymore, and sometimes my ships won't go when I click a destination. oh and how the blazes did the enemy suddenly gain so much influence???

damn,I should read my posts before posting them - sorry about spelling and syntax :-)
Solitair said: "You would think that in reality people would be upset if their loved ones were all carted onto huge transports to invade other system (or even worse, to be killed by being disbanded)." That depends of course, on who you are taking :-) Since morale rises, it could just be all the malcontents you take and stowe about the transports. And since no-one likes to hear complaints all the time, the people left on the planet will become happy, and the malcontents who where bitc
I was starting a new game the other day, and suddenly noticed that there is room for three more buttons besides the "new civilzation" "restore civilization" and so forth. Does anyone know what they are for?
dont' remember if anyone posted this before, but the tax slider is somewhat...quirky. When sliding downwards to make better morale, the morale sometimes decreases. Also, I've experimented with moving it 2 steps down, 1 step up ,and my morale increases? The tax collected doesn't always seem to be right either.
Arturus, why in the world is that a problem? I guess it's a technical issue then? I've noticed that shortly into the game, I DO colonize with more than 800M, and I DO tend to at least build Soil Improvement as the first thing. Habitat improvement also as soon as I've researched it. But not a third item, which I haven't even seen yet :-) I'm more of a "diplomacy and fast ships" kinda research guy :-)
How about two alike resources, are they cumulative?
"How often are new minor drops posted? " I assume you mean updates? Brad has mentioned there will be about 1 more betabuild before the beta closes entirely, probably in the end of this week, or beginning of the next.
Master Lame wrote - "why don't you list all your actions turn by turn, then we can see what you are doing wrong" wow - now there's a time consuming task :-)
Hi Simdream, you only need to connect to the game for downloading the game and patches. Of course, when you have finished a game, you can get your score on the "Metaverse" for all to see, and for that you have to be connected to the net. As for taking the files home, I seem to remember hearing about the possibility of just burning the files to a cd and set them up at home, probably at the exact same directorys but it should be possible, although I havent tried it :-) ho
Hi, 1) It's single player only, so basically you are in luck, since all development goes towards making the most enjoyable single player experience. 2)Nope - play the game and download the patches.thats it. 3) IT's very stable, more so than many "finished" products I've tried and also very very enjoyable. 4)Dont' think so- sorry If you want to buy the beta, you should hurry.Brad mentioned that the next build will probably be the last beta build, and then the o
YES I'm 99% sure it will be the same, but hopefully someone from the dev team will se this :-) Hmm, they should clarify EXACTLY what it is one gets in the BUY section, since I had the same doubts (fears?) when I bought it online. /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com
Eh - I could make up some witty remarks and a pretense to "legally" answer this thread, but instead I think I'll just go "Bump". I REALLY think the whole community would benefit from a forum upgrade of some sort.
AI Empires tend to be less agressive towards good empires, whereas evil empires probably "has it coming" hehe
CariElf, does planet value has an impact on morale?
Those "flashes and sounds" are probably the AI ships fighting it out, you just happened have the screen set close to where they where battling. You should be able to see your own battles /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com
Magus, well that doesnt have to be the case - you can check out my post (here http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?id=13199) and see that I've experienced exactly the same, with 102 BC income and over 2000 in treasury. I even had my tax set to 0 and still darn populace complained. Perhaps some Nerve-stapling of the population could be included to the evil side? hehe ;p /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com
Hi Pyromancer, you can find the manual on the top of the page, under "Encyclopedia" and the "Galciv User Manual" about the whole morale thing - I've discovered the same myself, but one thing that helps, is to use the tax slider under your empire status. The lower the tax, the happier the people :-) also, spending points on the "Details" screen from the planetscreen, will help you keep the people happy. Hope it helps /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.
Thanks a bunch Periz!!
I've used auto survey a bit, but after seeing my survey ship pass anomalies several times, I gave it up. /Flemming
Jack, hmm hadn't thought of that one - good point. /Flemming
hehe, won my first game today!! and VOILA I could email the score to the multiverse! but behold, when I had to enter my email adress the "at" sign didn't work?? it's to be said, that I have danish language winXP with danish keyboard, but "alt-gr" and "2" should still work, right?? /Flemming MAdsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com
LOL well, but since I'm the lucky owner of the vessel, I don't think I'll try that ;) My point is, that it's perhaps too powerfull?
Jack, got the reply from Brad - Review of beta is ok - I'll contact you within a day :-) /Flemming
Once more, I have a Survey vessel with extreme ratings - Att: 25 Defense : 95 I suggest that perhaps a rating cap based on level of ship? Otherwise you will get the Übervessel that cannot be killed at all it seems. /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com
