I've read somewhere, that starbases are NOT cumulative - what happens when the resources are in the same sector? Do they both count then if one builds starbases on both of them?
Is the diplomacy victory going to work through the UP council ala Master of Orion 2? And if so, is it already implemented? I have a hard time seeing how this is done. sigh, havent managed to complete a single yet, perhaps I shouldn't play on Huge and Gigantic maps LOL /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com
as far as I understand it, the 1 year subscription is for Drengin.net, and not for GalCiv. My best guess is ,that all upgrades are free afterwards. /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com
Jack, hmm good one - say I've been playing around with an idea for reviewing stuff lately, a "second opinion" where after the review (or in the middle) little boxes appear with a "second opinion" making it a bit more nuanced. If you wanna be a part of that, send me an email ([email protected]) btw, how does one become "commander"??
Jack, yes those points weigh heavily in my mind for what I plan to write - I REALLY like the way Stardock has handled this, especially compared to QS and their Moo3 game, which Galciv unavoidably will be compared to by most people. I'm also especially pleased with Stardocks announcement, that they have budgetted with 1 years full support and continuing upgrades. This is IMHO what makes the difference between good and bad developers these days :-) A great example not unlike Stardocks
Master Lame said: "those forums look pretty good, but people won't go there unless the Forums link on galciv website takes them there " yeah, there is that, but if the developers want easy acces to the wealth of info they can find here, I believe it's the only way to go (making new fora) /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com

Beta previews are pretty common today - displays the general gameplay, with it's strenghths and weakness's. General gameplay is not given to change , after developement has been underway for some time. Would require massive amount of documentation to be reworked. As for audience, anyone who is interested in 4X space strategy games, and would like to know what makes this one tick! /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com
Hi, since you stated frequently, that no beta testers are under NDA, would it ok to post a review of the Beta online? /Flemming Madsen VP Lidium www.lidiumonline.com
Arturus wrote "This is because there are two different Virtual Reality improvements. Virtual Reality Machines is a social improvement, and Virtual Reality Modules is a trade good." Whoops - (*looking slightly embarresed*) eh sorry about that :-) Didn't see the module/machine name difference /Flemming
Arturus wrote - "If you can get morale to settle around 50%, pop. growth should slow or stop entirely, but large planets can have high enough population that +30% growth can result in pop. growth in the billions of persons. At that point, moral can jump from 70% to 30% in one turn. " Hmm, that makes a certain kind of twisted sense ;-) Although it happened almost empire-wide to it seems. But as I see it, there is absulutely NO way to control Morale then? I mean, we all go fo
Ah - I think I remember now - Virtual reality machines, they appear twice in different research topics.
hehe, sorry didn't make that very clear. Since I don't remember the details, I'm going to give an example. For instance - fusion reactor can be built after researching a certain tech topic, but...can the same (i.e. fusion reactor) appear in two DIFFERENT research topics? I ask, because the do :-) And I don't know whether it's a bug or not :-) I stupidly didn't write it down, but will pay attention to it the next time it appears. /Flemming
Hi, I've been playing this great game for about 1 week now, and posted a little here on the forum. I think the public Beta testing idea is great, but think you are hindering yourself in getting the maximum profit from it. A forum is a great way to get feedback, but my guess is, that you lose a lot of potential good threads here, due to the nature of this forum. I suggest a forum specifically for the beta testers, with all the pomp and might of modern day forums Searches, mult
I recall seeing the same item in two different research topics, a buildable thing I believe. Are there multiple paths to the same stuff? I was "good" In the game, and this might have an impact I guess
I researched Alliances, and there is no option for this in the diplomacy screen, all I have is the option to make attack pacts.
Jack, I had +102 BC each month, and in excess of 2000 BC in treasury every time :-) I can see absolutely NO reason for them being unhappy, unless they are too many on the planet, and THAT I can do nothing about?
Nope, I have the first new government type available, and every possible morale increaser available to me - I just had three Galactic wonders, giving respectivly, 5, 10, and 15 percent increase in morale - but DOH nothing :-) Planets overflowing??? I never thought of that? How do you stop that from happening - it seems silly then, that A LOT of galactic wonders and research topics give population booms, doesnt it? /Flemming Madsen VP lidium www.lidiumonline.com <br
Hmm, having played a game where I was second after a ENOURMOUS empire (Dumb?? quite good at the level, appearently) I noticed my morale was low all the time. I even tried to lower taxes to 0, and still it was 48 percent - thats kinda strange - bug or not, balance issues er here :-) /Flemming Madsen VP lidium www.lidiumonline.com
When having ships/planets in corners, the text can be difficult to read, especially in the right-lowest corner, since the "gamescreen graphics" covers some it -this would be nice to have fixes :-)
LOL - thanks for the list - good to know :) unhide influence dialog?? What the blazes is that? Now I gotta try it, hehe
Thanks both of you - should have guessed as much :-) /Flemming
Probably because as they just added the warning feature in the latest build, it recognizes that at SOME point in the game you have had the low level of BC's.
I just installed the latest patch, and loaded my old savegame. after pressing "NExt turn", the game showed a mysterious screen with lots of graph options and all the races on it, I presume this is the endgame screen? After this, I pressed 2-3 keys to see what had happened, and it crashed. Are the savegames between builds not compatible?
