Brad, thanks that worked for me :) (Outside North America, btw hehe). Quick question here - I've had "cookie issues" before with the forum, and heard of others with the same trouble (not being able to post and such) - is this a problem at my end or at your end? Anomalyst, what??? thanks /Flemming

This reflects closely an idea I had earlier, about a win situation based on UP council decision. If you are mightty compared to all the others, it should be a given you will win, and as such you shouldn't be forced to play the last 8-10 hours. /Flemming

You'r right!! It IS a question of perception and I can tell now where we went beside each other, hehe. I'm looking at the influence wars from a somewhat nationalistic and dictatorly(is that a word?) point of view - i.e. foreign influence threatens my rule/dictatorship. Of course, If I was a benign leader (HA) I probably wouldn't mind, because peace and unification would lead to greater glory of mankind and ehm - alienkind LOL /Flemming

Brad, 1) Hmm, good point - didnt know that 2) Not sure that will affect anything - again, how much do you use the keyboard playing galciv? 3) Well, for our generation yes, but remember the teenagers have mutated, and their finger dexterity is amazing from both SMS'sing constantly, and from playing games with strange controls. Other than that, it would probably not be a problem to add a mouse to the console 4)Ok, didn't know that either :) But will both Gal

Hi Steve, or is it Steeve? Hmm, no - I mean I build a starbase in the middle of alien empire sectors, and I do it with the sole purpose of gaining more cultural influence, since I've discovered to my horror I seem to be a cultural Imperialist and loves to win via the cultural victory. So,, since that is the sole purpose of doing this (building the starbase either at fringe or in middle of alien nation empire) is to win their population over, I would think it DOES constitute an

Tandis - why??? Why do you need a PC to play a strategy game?? Why can't Galciv run perfectly fine on say, an X-box? It's not like we use the keyboard in the extremes, and there are ways around that. Most games today use the mouse, clicking icons no matter HOW complex they are. I'm not for the decline of PC games, hehe don't get me wrong - but the industry should probably realize that there could be a real danger of this, and most of us PC owners today probably wouldn't like thi

Steve, well, when I place my Starbases in the middle of enemy territory, to cover as much as possible, and start broadcasting how good the human culture/race is, I'd damn well take it as an act of war if I was the enemy. Of course, it could lead to diplomatic repurcussions instead, i.e. no diplomacy deals with that empire, trade embargoes against humans, alliance's break off, relationships cool and so forth... :d

Well, on the outside, nothing is different, except that if you look at shelvespace in stores, at least here in Denmark, you will see an increase in Console space, and a decrease in pc game shelve space. I believe the technology is catching up on PC's, making console's just as good, and in some cases perhaps even better to play games on, and thats beginning to show. Of course, this is a personal opinion, not backed by anything by some observations and a few talks with shop owner

Arturus, My oberservation is based on number of new games released recently, compared to a few years ago... Also, I've been talking to quite a few store owners lately, asking about their shrinking pc'games shelves and increasing xbox, ps2 and so forth shelve room, and they agree - more console games, less pc games. Again I ask, how many decent pc games where released this xmas??? that should be a nice indicator. /Flemming

Unfortunately, it seems that not only is TBS games a dying breed, but PC games in general seems to be in serious decline. Take a look at how many PC games where released for christmas, and compare it to just 2 or 3 years ago. We are entering the "Age of Consols" unfortunately, as I see it, since there some things the PC does A LOT better than any PS 8 ever can. Enough threadjacking... Galciv and Moo3 is two very different games - hopefully I will get my review copy of Moo3 i

Hmm, it seems I have assigned projects to 1 governor, but not assigned the governor to any planets - perhaps it's my newly colonized planets that have these numbers? I've NEVER used governors before, and is a little unsure on how to deal with them technically :-) /Flemming

Rubberducky666 wrote ""Pre Scriptum: Make a reply if you change your mind or know someone that'd be in. If you wanna support this, make it take expansion by fansites, friends or else." I have practically no idea what you are talking about here??? Or else?? As for the rest, I have a vague idea what you want - we should market this an entire day, where we work or live, right? by carrying a sign, and some gimmick (your banana???). Whats up with the 0.57 dollars though

I've been focusing a lot on the whole "influence wars" areas, since I find it higly entertaining and a very very good idea with the concept of influence. There are a few things I think SD should look at though 1) Increasing influence in an alien empires sectors, should constitute an "Act of war" - at least in the sectors with either planets or starbases. This makes sense since it's basically what I use the starbases for in mid-end games. 2) Influence warnings from plan

Well, I have neither a governor assigned nor does it happen at all planets, only 2 or three of them, and neither of them has been assigned governors I still have to manually insert what to build next. But those numbers must be those priorities - strange... /Flemming
