1> You would need to download/install ObjectDock https://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/ which is currently freeware. 2> I think that's just the way the artist made the skin...although you might be able to make adjustments (for your use only) via Skin Studio. Not sure on that, as I've never done that myself.
Does anyone know how to open (or extract) an icon from an executable program, or its .dll file? Also, how would I know which file to look in? Thanks in advance!
this had been driving me crazy! Someone else asked this question, and I couldn't remember where I had seen that!
Have to agree with Fuzzy...PSP (especially 8) is an awesome program! I have version 7 and 8...as well as PS7. Still trying to learn PS7, but I find I usually open PSP8 to do most of my graphics.
I didn't even realize that option was there! Thanks yrag!
I prefer quality wp over smaller file size. On my work puter, I have a nice collection of walls to cycle through...either from WC or my own photos. At home, I have used the same wall for years...just a simple tiled bmp that makes my desktop look like a tapestry. As far as connections...at home it's 512 DSL...at work it's T1, which incidentally is slower than most dial-ups (for web browsing), mainly due to the fact that most of the bandwidth is dedicated to data transfer <img src="http:
Sorry, misunderstood you...I don't use DesktopX, if that's what it is. The bar at the very bottom of the screenshot looks like OD.
joe...Axialis website (makers of IconWorkshop) have a pretty good description of icons, including the differences between XP and 9x icons. that page is here: http://www.axialis.com/cgi-bin/tutorial?id=whatsanicon
What browser are you using? If you're using IE6, (I think) you can go into Tools > Internet Options...then near the bottom of the first tab is a button labeled "Fonts"...try making the change there. Hope this helps!
just click on the blank spot, it opens another window with the wallpaper.
If you haven't already, you'll need to download and install Object Dock...it comes with some default docking bars, but you can get some from the WC library (as well as icons).
If you mean the compact Start menu...I'm pretty sure you'll need WB version 4 to use that feature...and it would only be available on skins that offer the compact menu. As for how to enable it...uhm, I haven't tried that myself.
It's difficult to believe this person is old enough to have a wife and children.

hmm...I just uploaded my very first skin (ever!)...unfortunately, it's not for WB, but for an Object Dock background. I can't quite get my head around the WB skinning, so I'll start with the basics first. So, IF it's accepted...then I will no longer be a "Skinning Virgin"... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/s
I did it!! Sorry yrag, I didn't "directly" change my registry...I did a search on Annoyances.org, and found a program that makes it easy to do (I think someone posted about it at the start of this thread)...it is called TweakUI. After installing, I just opened the program, clicked on "Desktop", then unchecked the Recycle Bin. Thank you SO much for your time and help! I really appreciate it! I
I'm not using the Classic Start Panel...am using the regular XP Start Menu...but I don't understand how making adjustments to items in the Start Panel folders will remove the icon from the desktop. Sorry for turning this into a pain!
Well...in the Classic folder, this is what I have: Name: {871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}.default Type: REG_SZ Data: 0 will give it a try...
For each of the four files, under the heading DATA , it says 0x00000001 (1) it looks like the value (in parenthesis) is already a "1".
My NewStartPanel folder has already 4 REG_DWORD files, and the Classic folder has none...but none of the current four file names match the one you mentioned.
If you want to lose your 'Registry Virginity' over this then here goes I'm not touching that with a 10-foot pole!! Does this mean we can go steady? <img src="
