Thats freakin amazing :) Just checked the email and it's right there. Stardock rocks!
In addition, next week we will be sending out a second coupon that will give users 20% off of any game or application on Impulse.
During the week of the 50% off Demigod coupon, the above was indicated in the same email. I'm wondering if this is going to come to fruition or not. I've received no further emails with this indication and have been waiting eagerly.
Last week I installed object dock for the first time to try it out. Everything worked fine (save for the clock displaying the date on roll over... but thats another post), but now the weather docket is no longer updating. I've done nothing to change the configuration of my machine since I installed things. It was like, one minute it was working, the next it wasnt. My connection to the internet has not changed nor have I had any updates installed recently. Perhaps the server that the doc
He's a pirate. He does not have a legal copy of the game and is complaining because he cant get the pirated beta copy to work correctly and he thinks stardock owes him something. He is just trying to stir up trouble and rip off anyone he can by putting up the "boo hoo" sob story. Ignore him and he will disappear to another site to complain about something else.
Demigod was one of my most anticipated games of this year and yet in it's current state I would even call gamespot's review generous. Giving demigod anything higher based on assumptions things are going to be better would be far worse IMO.
I would be inclined to agree with you IF the review had not been release moments after the game was officially released. Further, I would agree with you if other
Maybe that'll be a project I work on over the summer. Making a new mod of the clock feature that does what is wanted. It's not a difficult thing to produce, I just wasnt sure if it was already in the code (as it would seem a logical thing to have). But for now, its finals week so the clock is least of my worries :)
Hey all, I was bored and decided to try out the free version of the object dock. So far I'm liking it alot. One thing I was wondering is whether or not it is possible for the clock roll over text to display the time rather than the date. I already have the calendar to display the date (as well as the temperature forecast). It's not a major issue, but would just be nice. I did try to mess around with other clocks that others have made, but most require s
Two different groups... Either Newb to genre or Lazy, not necessarily both. Note, I didnt say Noob, I said Newb as in new to the particular play style, not noob as in childish ignorant people who refuse to necessarily learn the game (which I guess I did elude to later in the post). So I suppose there are 3 distinct groups of people iterated within my post.
the learning curve is ridiculous
Ridiculously easy. I think the only people who would have trouble (or claim to have trouble) learning this game would be complete newbs to the genre (and gaming in general) or lazy people who lack imagination and cant seem to grasp simple concepts like playing an easy single player match and rolling over all powers and abilities (which one would have to do anyway regardless if there is a tutoria
Yeah, I haven't purchased a Lucas Arts game in ages. I rented force unleashed for the wii which is a fun and well controlled game, but its not worth $50 to me so I'm waiting for it to hit the bargain bin before I get it (which, knowing money grubbing LA, it wont happen for a decade or so... similar to most microsoft game studios and blizzard games... not even a sale on them even 8+ years after the release... WC3 is just not worth $40 in my opinion at this stage in the game) <p
Man, that quote without the smilie seems really harsh lol. I totally didnt mean it like it sounds. Anyway, you can look at it as you will probably have a 2nd comp someday that can run DG (especially with how cheap decent quality computers are now-a-days) so all wont be lost :)
The review is supposed to give you an idea what you are about to face when you buy the product NOW and not a year later after it is patched.
Which Gamespot's review doesn't. It spends most of its time on the negative aspects of the game, spends no time on how the engine itself performs in the single player nor how well the game is balanced. I agree that a game should play right out of the box, and DG does. I h
I've seen alot of problems with multiple aliases in that a player will make 2 or more aliases, practice on one, then go to the other "clean" one to bolster their stats against noobs. Especially in the games where rank matching occurs, so your alias looks noobesque, but in reality your skill level is master of all things . So, the rank increases artifically because the noobs are being dominated at an extreme rate. Now, perhaps, if all of the aliases on the ac
PC game reviews are about as biased as you can get. Companies pay for positive reviews or at least to postpone the review until their initial sales are capitalized on. Gamespot is notorious for this. There were big name games that didnt have a review on GS even 2 weeks after the intial releases because the games were abysmal, but the publishers (*cough* EA *hack*) paid for them to postpone the reviews until after the majority of their sales had been met. The reviews on Gamespot themselves are
I think that so long as EA's products improve in quality, their support makes some cosmic leaps forward, and they start listening to the customer base instead of or in addition to their investors, EA can still be forgiven for past infarctions. I myself have much hostility toward EA over how the CnC series turned out in terms of game play vs how westwood used to handle it. They slap pretty graphics on a halfassed game and over advertise it until they've tapped into your subconscious an
All I have to say is that I am impressed and gladdened by the recent news that Bioware is not going to use any DRM beyond a disk check in their upcoming game Dragon Age: Origins. http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/dragon-age/979591p1.html <a href="http://pc.gamespy.com/p
AI seems to suck at dominate. I played a pantheon game where everyone on my team disconnected 2 minutes in so i was left with AIs who never did anything to cap flags. I spent the whole time scrambling to cap flags while my team mates went for the little armies that spawn. Meanwhile my human opponents went about holding all of the flags and ultimately winning by a steep margin. Maybe its just the AI's that need some tweaking or controls, especially in MP. They n
Considering you're like 10 years old, you havent seen much in terms of rip off products and therefore you're opinion on the matter is moot. Anyway, Impulse does have its faults, but considering steam for the past 3 months has been F'in up left and right, I dont have a whole lot of love for that company right now. As for impulse using more system resources, its because steam looks like something that would be found on windows 3.1 (which clearly predates even you) and therefore ther
Game companies could start making a vicious virus and embedding it into their software that, if the exe is changed, the virus releases into the machine and shuts down all those who attempt to crack it. That would be an effective deterent... illegal, but effective. Granted the pirates will crack the virus file itself, but I suppose if it uses the system files themselves, it'd be far more difficult to track down. I would personally not purchase a software that had such measu
I wish other companies would have status reports like this as frequently as you guys have given them. I'm still waiting to hear back on a few problems with games on steam (mostly 3rd party) that worked fine previously but are no longer working on the steam side of things. EA gives one status report every 3-5 months at times before they leave a game broken, unbalanced, and just in poor shape while releasing a brand new game (command and conquer series namely... CnC3 is still horrib
It would be nice if the ping of other players was on the main UI so that you could see it at all times. The tab screen usually takes a moment or two to open and close which is valuable time lost during a match. Also posting a player as CPU would help as well. I've gone through games without knowing that my allies were computers until the very end (when I lost miserably... hmm I wonder why... oh thats right cause I suck! lol).
There really ought to be a surrender button after a certain period of time during a match that the whole team can vote on so that it doesnt take an extra 10 minutes to "lose".
I mostly only chat when I am losing by a huge margin and just waiting for the "clean up" to take place. There really ought to be a surrender button after a certain period of time during a match that the whole team can vote on so that it doesnt take an extra 10 minutes to "lose".
Yeah, I'll agree that the "AI" needs some more of the "I". I was playing a 3v3 with everyone as human and about half way through both my partners got dropped or disconnected, so I was left with "normal" AIs. Well my 3 opponents took great advantage of that fact and I was left sitting there with nothing to do but grab another hand full of chips and a swig of dr pepper. My AI allies would run up to defenses one at a time, get beaten by the 3 human players, respawn and repeat.&
This was true on Monday and part of Tuesday when they were still using the beta servers and the pirates were trying to log in, but after tuesday stardock got their official servers operational and the update within impulse linked the game to log into the new servers leaving the pirates on the older servers. The problems at the moment are that they are still playing catchup with server setup due to being black balled by gamestop last weekend. This isnt to say that the coding of the
