Boy, it was awful bad timing for me (and you too ICO), my friends VERY first online RTS ever last night when your server went down during the game. He was sooo frustrated and confused. But I told him these things happen sometimes online. I just hope we can reload the MP game again, then he'll be happy :)

We were disconnected from ICO last night around 9pm here; neither of us could get back on all night (tired till midnight). I just tried, and now I can.
It's about 3 hours later, neither of us can log onto ICO still; is it offline or something?
We are having the same problem. My friend that got the game for his BD finally said he thought he was ready for Online play. We got him logged onto ICO fast and easy, and were playing in minutes. We played for an hour, then both our games froze. We were both unable to log onto ICO after that; we tried dozens of times, but it said "Disconnected From Ironclad Online" for both of us every time we hit the "Log In" button. We gave up, for now, but we sure hope we are able to continue his very fi
Ya, it's been there since I can remember. If you reselect the fleet, and tell it "Form Fleet" again, it seems to solve the problem. And luckily, it's just one ship that get's homesick ;)
Yes, it's been a known bug since the early beta release, but for some reason (and it's been OVER a month) they have not even released a quick-fix for it. It's making testing MP near impossible too, so a fix was needed long ago.
Thank you Vinraith, I agree SO much. I've been playing on a 5 man team with Wow for over 2 years now, and the ONLY reason I stay in the game is because the other 4 guys would hate me if I quit on them after "all this time"; first it was to get to lvl 60, now 70, soon 80, but nothing in the game changes much; I'm so board most nights I could play after taking Night-Quill I think. When we go up a level, they seem to raise our hitpoints 2%, the monsters hitpoints 2%, and increase everyones damage/
Dec: I'm interested in this Mod (I have NEVER use a Mod before in any game), but I can't figure out what I'm suppose to download or do??? I download those 4 files and unzip them, then read the readme file?
I do love the fact that bombers/fighters are now a big part of the game, but it's soooo obvious that about the only counter now to SC is SC, and I can't see why a quick patch giving Flak some teeth again (and crushing the SC scuttle bug, which is making it impossible for most to even playtest this beta in MP) is'nt comming out so we can continue to playtest. I've stopped playing the beta for now, cause it just ends up being two huge "clouds" of SC in every battle at the time. I'
Where ARE all those mods anyway; when I've went in the past (and just now) to the Dowload section, I don't see most the Mods I hear people talking about?
Darn, I was going to play some mods (for the first time) while waiting for some kind of beta update. But it took so long to have Impulse to update Sins, I'm affraid to go back to 1.5 and try mods.
That's a releif; now I can go back and relax more about 1.1, IF, it's not the last update. I have a Mod question for this topic: I know almost nothing about how to mod, but how difficult would it be for someone to make one or two simple changes to Flak ships, put it into a mod, and let us all test it out ourselves? Anything, like increase range 50% and/or damage 25% or something like that. . .
Thanks Kit. It is 1.1 friendly, cause I'm "Beta'ing" now :)
Our tentative date for the final version of Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1 is mid September. Did I missread it?
Well, I was all set to be really patient, and wait for the next beta update. And have fun testing that for a while. Knowing that over the next several months, we'd all help create the best 1.1 we could. But, did you guys read the latest on the Home Page? They said 1.1 will be the last update for Sins, and that they will release it around the middle of next month. That's about 3-4 weeks, and we have not even got any info or messages (that I've seen) from the devs about another beta update bei
Kit: If I put that (or any other) Mod on my Sins, do I have to reinstall Sins to get it "back to normal"?
Basically, most Carriers are twice as strong now; Advent 3 times as strong, and flak, one of SCs counter, nerfed. Time for another version of the beta so we can test some leveling of this. Not much else we all can do (if the Devs have seen all our posts) but to wait and see what/when they put out a new beta patch. . . .
Nope, see below, Anna had it: Annatar11 Member No.2,632,777 Karma+73 OnlineAugust 18, 2008 08:07:32 That's in one of the option tabs too, called something like "Show mesh colors"
Thanks Annatar! Now I have purple striped Advent again. Boy, those colors sure do make the look of the ships for me (Varasi got'a be red. . .)
Another color question: Is it just me, or my computer, or is there no longer any player colors on the ships themselves in the beta? I could have sworn the Advent ships looked great with my purple player color highlights???
If you make Flak do more damage to bombers, we'll be back to 1.5, where flak is everywhere, and there is no need for fighters again. If Flak did more damage to fighters, then you would need both fighters (to destroy bombers) AND Flak (to destroy fighters); a mixed fleet and combined arms. Of course Flak should damage bombers too; it just should'nt out-do the fighers; and if Flak was able to have a chance to shoot down some the the missles from LRM frigs, I'd sure as heck have t
Yes, I played a 1v1 against the AI last night, and carriers are expencive, and 20 cap to boot. But still, Flak I made to help counter the AI's SC seemd to do nothing, I eventually just stopped making it.
Same thoughts here Cpt, if flack killed fighters (not bombers), it seems like an almost perfect play-balence. Has anyone heard from the Devs on the beta imput? I don't read all the boards, but with all the imput everyone is giving them, I thought they would have left some message somewhere about new beta changes. I thought for sure they'd have a quick-fix for the fighter/bomber scuttle bug by now at least. They must be busy with Impulse I guess.
Yes, zoomed in, or zoomed out, you can turn both colored skyboxes on/off. Anybody else notice that the player colors don't appear on ships in the beta? With the skyboxes off, it's difficult to make out the ships. Who knew that bit-o-color on each ship made so much difference.
I'd like to hear the music outside the game too; and maybe put in some of my own. Guess I'll look for a .00g player too.
