It sounds like some clarification needs to be made here. Our return policy for Demigod has been temporarily relaxed due to the issues that the game is still having. We all know what they are, so it is not worth discussing them here. So, in that light, we have been providing 100% refunds to anyone who is still having trouble. Here are the four possible scenarios. 1. If you purchased the game from us as a download, we have been issuing full refunds right on the
If I can have a complete blast playing SP, so can anyone else.
To play devil's advocate, you may enjoy single player but for a lot of people, it's very underwhelming. The main draw of the game is the multiplayer and to say something like "just be happy with the single player" is like selling a toaster that's pretty but always burns the bread.
I work in the video game industry as a software engineer. From a work point of view, I totally sympathize with Stardock and their employees. However, from a consumer point of view, they drop the ball and that's pretty much a fact. They're nice enough to give refunds which many game companies don't but regardless of that, their product didn't quite work as described - at least in the first couple weeks. While the OP seems to have gone a little overboard in his raging
I've never played DOTA but that doesn't mean my opinion is invalid either.
Actually it does. If I've never played chess how could I make a comment arguing its merits/failures? I'm sorry, but armchair game analysis/truthiness is no substitute for actually playing and learning. Until you become good at a game (ie. win most of your matches and compete/play at a high level), you really cannot comment on a game's level of depth. Most people on th
I would rather see say 12 Demigods and have their abilities and options expanded on so that they play much more differently than today.
If the abilities can be truly expanded so that they play much differently, then I completely agree with this. Basically, I just want less momentum in this game. Having to choose abilities on the fly that are fit for the situation can help reduce the impact of momentum. Reducing the amount of gold per d
Oh I hope they allow you to change the keys. Also, is there a way to change the pitch of the camera? I really dislike how the view is at such an angle. I'd much prefer a more top-down perspective.
On the other hand, because you get so much gold from killing heroes, once you get a large leg up in kills, you get a large cash advantage. Assuming the team with the cash advantage uses it properly, you're pretty screwed. Once they get the critical citadel upgrades + gear and start really pushing you, there's little you can do to stop them except hope they do something stupid.
Haven't checked this thread in a while, but all i can say is THANKS! nice investigating! I'll give it try later on
Agreed, the AI is really frustrating. Having AI on your team is honestly worse than not having them at all because of the amount of bounty you get when you kill another hero. The AI tend to do stupid suicide rushes. They also buy the dumbest crap for citadel upgrades. "Thanks for buying priests early.. now the enemy will outlevel us." =/
Quoting Kitkun, reply 22 I wonder why the isn't small gold income for killing creeps. There is. It's just very small. 4 per minotaur, I think. Coming from dota I felt that the bounty for killing creeps is a bit too small but at the same time its not like they're hard to kill either, 2-3 hits at the start of the game. On top of that the towers offer 300'ish gold which benefits other heroes, like Reg (with
Good stuff. Are these active right this second?

I don't know too much about typically returning a boxed product (whether you need to pay shipping or not), but if it's true that the returner has to pay shipping, then Stardock is being pretty lenient here. Most companies, when they release buggy software won't give you a refund of any kind. Frankly, I'm impressed with Stardock.
Personally, it's been working fine for me. Granted I've only played 3 games, but during those games not one person dropped. Connecting to games has also been pretty quick. The game's also easy to learn and not stressful at all to play, so you can jump right in there withouth having to really figure much stuff out. That's just my experience though.
Interesting... I also thought Stardock gives 100% refund. Do they give 100% refund to a digital purchase or is that also partial refund? You have to admit that he does have a point. Stardock's bill or rights thing was put in place as an EXPLICIT promise to consumers. Partial refund != Refund. For those who will argue that 10% of the cost isn't much, you're missing the point. It's about the principle of paying for something that isn't working.
There's not really al load screen at all... it's just some huge text saying Connecting to Lobby with that animated loading image underneath
I'm not here to bitch about multiplayer working or not. In fact, it's been working perfectly fine for me :) However, for a lot of people, they're having issues with the game. Calling them whiny bitches and having a general sycophantic behaviour WILL NOT encourage new people to come and play this game. In fact, it will just create a sub culture of uber-fans where the rest of the mainstream people will not go. Seriously, by apologising and chasing away complain
Demigod actually does have juking. But it has some game breaking bugs that make it unplayable competitively. The major one is that if you use a skill that is a single target clicking(most demigods have 2 of these.. like sedna's heal and her pounce) it often makes you stuck in place. The skill doesn't go off, you can't attack, you just sit there. To 'fix' this you have to give a move order. <br
if DotA is so balanced, why is Icefrog kicking out updates mainly for fixing balance issues in the game? the next map coming out is 6.60, which will include many hero remakes and nerfs/improvements, because players asked him to change certain stuff that was imbalanced. of course you can blame the players (or n00bs - actually the most commonly used name for player on bnet, especially in DotA) for not knowing how to handle, let's say a troll p
I know this post is a little out of place, seeing as I barely played DotA, but I just thought I'd give an opinion of someone who enjoys the game.
This is really a key post. I've been spoiled with DoTA and I have very high expectations when there's a new game of the same genre. I have the same high expectations of LoL, whenever that game will get released.
I used to play DotA rarely, but enough to remember the controls. Demigods
Wait wait wait. Let me get this straight. They first release the Gamer Bill of Rights asserting that they won't release buggy software and that it'll have a proper QA pass on it. Fanbois cheer. Then they release Demigod which has a barely working multiplayer, and a host of exploits and bugs (http://forums.demigodthegame.com/348780). Fanbois Cheer. They then say th
One thing I really want is for the game to AUTOMATICALLY END when the enemy team is all AI bots.
Think of it as Dota-lite. The game's easy enough even my wife can play it. It doesn't have any of the twitch elements from DotA like last hits, juking, creep denies, lane control, etc. There's also less skill selection and item selection, giving it a much lower learning curve. They did add some things like purchasable upgrades to your army/exp/gold-per-sec/etc and those are kinda nice. A lot of people who say they play dota a lot don't even know
What's there to connect to? This is just single player so I can test the demigod's skills and items. I waited about 5-10 minutes for that "connecting to lobby" to go away but it never did. Also, the screen never froze, but there's no way to cancel it so you have to alt+f4. Again, it's strange that I can play multiplayer fine but single player gets stuck on a connecting to lobby screen...
Somehow I'm able to play multiplayer (just finished a game) and single player tournament. However, when I try to play single player skirmish, it just gets stuck on "Connecting to Lobby" and stays there. There isn't even a way to get out of the screen so I have to alt+f4. Any help, suggestions? (Note that I've been having this problem both before and after I forwarded the ports as per monk's guide. I have never managed to play skirmish yet)
