Ah, no, if you have 0 moves left you have 0 moves left, but if you have 1 or 2 moves left and can reach the square just next to the starbase with those moves, then you can click the starbase and it will ask to upgrade. So your right, might be a small bug there ;) /Andreas
Nidaros
Actually in my game 2 races has Diplomatic Translators, havent tested with 1.02 yet, but I will shortly. /Andreas
Actually, when you move the constructor manually and only have two tiles left to the starbase, you can click on the starbase instead of in space on the last two moves and you will also get the question to upgrade, so it gets a free move on the last move even if you do it manually.. /Andreas
I think the game was submitted before Metaverse was capable of seeing how the diffrent games were won :) Thats what I think anyway..
A Star Trek mod would be nice ;) /Andreas
Sorry you feel that way, I for one love the game. But every game isnt for every person. Hope you find a game that suits you mate! /Andreas
I would actully think the game would be less fun with tactical combat, I have always enjoyed the Civ type of games where the focus is on strategy and empire building and not on just combat. The way combat is handled in GalCiv is great, its quick and it gets the job done and give you time to focus on more important things... Like trying to figure out how feed the 64 BILLION people of my class 46 planet Andersona... (*sigh* Kondoms people, kondoms!!) /Andreas
Well spoken Rusty. I dont know what more to say, or maybe no further is needed except silent reflection. /Andreas
Just be nice to the civ you want to ally with, give him ships if he is at war, trade tech and so. It takes quite awhile to become allies, its nothing that happens on two turns due to massive tribute... It like in real life, noone becomes allies overnight! ;) /Andreas
Actually the UP meets even though you only met for example one race, I have had several UP meetings with just me and one other race. I like to think of it as the UP is a human invention and civlizations join it when they are "discovered". :) /Andreas ~SDC~
Try logging out of www.galciv.com, delete all cookies on the computer and log in again. That might work! /Andreas
To my knowledge the AI do NOT know where all resources are, I had a tech resource outside my terriotry for about 30 turns (it took that long for me to build a constructor and get it to the resource) and the AI left it alone, I had a scout there to "guard" it and I saw no AI ships near it. This means that the AI had not discovered it and therefor the didnt take it. Simple ;) I have also seen it on many other occations! /Andreas
Metaverse checks for any types of editing in the file, it also checks for trainers and unatural events in the game, say for example that you edit your save game to recive 100 000BC, the metaverse then sees this as a cheat and your score will be posted, but with the namne "Cheater" after it. So its quite risky to do, do you hope that Metaverse wont notice your cheat? Post and risk getting "cheater" after your name isnt that funny :) /Andreas
French: Yes it was a real planet, you could clearly see the solid surface and the huge atmosphere surrounding it. It was a very cool picture :) It was the first planet with atmosphere ever discovered! Very neat ;) /Andreas
No its not ;) /Andreas
Sorry, just re-read my post. The word "decided" is not quite accurate, its more like that they have "agreed on" that Pluto is not a planet. Cheers! :) /Andreas
btw, your right about Europa and Titan, but I think any real production/colonization of these moons would be to small to notice. Jupiters moon Europa for example is about the same size as our moon, and Titan is about the size of Pluto, and Pluto is not even a planet. Small notice :) Here in Europe the scientist have decided that Pluto is acctually to small to be called a planet, its more like a larger asteriod in the Kuiper Belt. /Andreas
moi-meme: I never said the game shows all planets. I am just saying that there actually exists planets besides those ho are earth/mars/venus like, you must also think of the planets/colonizing out of a gameplay perspective. French: A planet does not have to be close to the sun for the temperature to be that high, the inner core temperature of a planet also effects temperature and the atmosphere (as you said). In a lecture at my Astronomy class here at the university they r
If you press the "menu" button on the main screen you will see at the bottom how close you are to reach the four diffrent types of victory. The closer you are to winning all 4 the higher score you get. I had: 89% culture victory, 92 % conquest, 50% Alliance and 100% tech when I won on a gigantic map on intelligent dificulty. I got about 3700 points I belive. If you also have the strongest military, a very high amount of social projects contructed, this also add to the score, <br
Well, the reason that it exists planet below 12 in GalCiv is becuase.. well it ACTUALLY exists planets in space wich are very hostile of nature and with no use at all, how fun is a space game where you can colonize every star and use it? It would hardly be re realistic. Humans may be a race capable of enduring many hardships, but land a colonyship on a planet where the surface temperature is 1000 C and I bet they wouldnt survive long, and planets like that exists in our universe. <
I belive you must research all techs before it can end in a Tech victory, th Final Frontier is more a "And here it ends" tech :) /Andreas
I actually think the cinematics in GalCiv is quite cool and well made :) /Andreas
I also see this quite frequently, but I have no explanation for it.. maybe a dev has? /Andreas
Try pressing ctr+r, that might help. /Andreas
Yes, you can set both computer intelligence AND personality at random! ;) /Andreas
