I think that any TBS or RTS has alot to lurn from Rise of Nations. All is in the balance of different types of units. If you go morethis side, you'll try to push a particular strategy, and so on. Control of air, sea and land, on defense, attack...

Something that needs not to be forgotten perhaps, if we bring such classification of sheeps, is to have ships for science. Like all these exploration ships we send for science these days: they really bring something, but it's knowledge, not money, enemy protection nor anything like that.

Just one thing... if you ever feel obliged to include engeneering of the vessels, please evade any micrmanagement and "upgrade-fter-upgrade" type... Let's bring some intelligence to it. For exemple, you could make it simple, so that it really becomes a strategical choice, instead of a nightmare of options and whattever else. It has to bring new possibilities instead of just on path: upgrading. A lighter vessel will be faster, if you put more money on armament (heavy vessels

Perhaps these things could be made so they would really have some good effect, even if they would be worth mostly in certain situations. For exemple, propaganda is ALWAYS useful for other things than against an enemy. Like to make bad situations look better or making so that certain things are not known (so less problems with Fundamentalists, the League...). More morale... (?) [Message Edited]

Then it should imperatively be known by players!! It should be written somewhere, anything! Besides, wouldn't the computer deal correctly with it if the money was simply trnsfered to reserach? In such a case, it simply brings a higher % in research, which the computer already deals with. But I guess someone already thaught to it so I'm wrong?

I wanted to know why money that wasn't used by social and military fields went to nihil instead of going to your free money or even to your research. Why is that?? I know there were debates, but I never got the conclusion, never was informed why absolutely nothing was done...

Erm... one strange thing. The fundamentalists took my best system. (I was trying the dark side, for once...) The problem is that when I took it back it had like... incredible population (EXACTLY the same number on the three planets, and wasn't changing with turns). When it gets something like 10 times (don't remember the exact number) its population in a few turns, it's weird.

I don't care, as long as it gets the fastest it can LOL Actually, I'm very contented with what I have now, as I was with Civilization II in its time even if Civ3 was coming years later. But I guess Brad doesn't intend to make GalCiv2 next month...

I'm sure decisions were taken with serious reasons, but the point is not "being ahead of the AI" but "making a coherent game". Why exactly is it like this?? Wouldn't it have been better if the money went back in the bank, simply?

I'm pretty surprised to learn it is wasted. Why was it decided so?? Wouldn't it be more coherent if it went back to treasury or to the 2 other sectors?! :( PS: That would be an interesting thing to add in the manual, if it's not already. [Message Edited]

I think there could be some simple things to be added that would diminish technical micro-management of trading. 2 parts are forming trading: - information gathering - making the exchange About the information gathering, well we could have a list of what we know the other has, stuff like that. About making the exchange, we could give some instructions on what type of exchange should be done and how it should be done. This would form some kind of "governor" and

We all know what's micromanagement. I thaught it could be nice if tech exchange would be done in a few clicks. How? Well you click on "fast tech exchange" and you'll just click which techs you wanna get money for and to which civs, and it's exchanging it to all civs you asked by maximizing the exchange with "How many month" you've put for them to pay. What do you all think? I know that my play style means to exchange techs constantly to all civs and minor civs, is it same for y

I really wondered... How much time does it take to program something like the "Integrated Technology Navigator"? It really looks like a simple feature but so many games do not have encyclopedia and stuff like that, so I wondered.

I've started many debate topics yet, but they all go down and BEBYE. And I'm not alone so it would easily be a forum in itself, with activity: brain activity, constructive and intelligent activity.

My cousin is daltonian... Is there anything to change colors so that he sees the difference? It's espescially bothering in diplomacy where he doesn't see any difference between green and red... :notsure:
