I propose we add a GalCiv debate forum, which would make a 4rth forum. What is it useful to? Well it is mainly to debate... ;p Should it be what could be ameliorated, or how it could be better, what could be nice to see in a patch/XP pack or if Kowabunga is a better turtle name than Twitifwiti, this would be the place. I'm saying this just after I see that if I put the debate I wanted, it wont stay on top long enough to bring anything USEFUL... PS: In my case

What I'd like? I KNOW!! I KNOW!! 1- The possibility (optional or not) to customize our society more: type of government, repression, difference between rich/poor, whattever Brad thinks it adds depth. 2- Something that would have the same function as MOO3's ethos (which may change with time). Customization of CULTURE, somewhat. It is soooo important in mankind's history... Some game has to permit this someday!!
GameSpot anounced a GalCiv demo to download but it's only accessible to members. My cousin wants to get the demo but isn't gonna subscribe to GS. How does he get the demo?
Maybe we should be able to pass over a freidly vessel, having the same tile. Some sort of concept of layer would do this perhaps... This stops wall of scouts or elsw.

If you ask anything on this forum, you'll get answered, should it be by Brad or else. Brad very often communicates by the forum too, to answer or anything. There's also a email link on the left of this page, but I have no idea who's answering.
In fact, I have in mind that we could get a few fans grouped eachother and write a Gamespoting text for their weekly Gamespoting. I think they'd be enough content to talk about. Not just to acclaim, but really it's genuine in gaming places. There's alot to say about support after a game is released. Any1 serious would cooperate to write something serious, a page or 2?
Joining to this :CONGRAT: And I consider this the best TBS of all those I know (I played many many TBS so I can evaluate...)
The times I stole techs, my spying was top notch. I got all the techs from Arceans like this once ;p
erm... we can move SB?!?!
I tend to keep some ATTACK ships. When some enemies are coming, I don't let him come very near... He gets my mass attack. Sometimes I keep these attack ships out of reach of the enemy, just one tile after the system in opposite direction from where they're coming. So they don't reach my attack fleet/s. :D
"Good" and "bad" are determined by random events but could (should?) also be consequent on other regular moves: who you attack, if you were attacked first, what did you used when you invaded other planets (chemical weapons??), and so on.
Other cheeze: We can buy some AI's tech and sell it to other AIs. An AI isn't concious that you can sell it back everywhere, it doesn't sell everywhere as you do or consider that it could get it from its friendly AI. AI isn't concious as much as players in tech trades, it could: 1- Decide to sell it to everyone (or its friends) at the same time it sells to you (so you wont sell everywhere) 2- Ask a tech from its better friend to which you just sold it 3- Ask for
CHEEZY: I let the AI battle fight one another and I just bring a constructor next to their endangered SB. It stays there until the SB is destroyed and takes the ressource. The AI doesn't see it! The one who destroys the SB should be able to take the ressource at the same time with a constructor near enough.
Apparently, it entered when I closed ALL and clicked on a different shortcut. BUT it actually closed... after 4-5 hours of playing :) I was on a diplomacy screen and it just closed without warning, the same as if I'd have clicked "quit".
More customizable political and socio-economical systems!!! :notsure:
I have enough free space (3Gig). From what I know, it's not windowed version since it goess full screen. Other software running: Microsoft Word 2000, Mozilla (one window each)
Since 1.02, I'm entering the program, it's showing a part of the starting animation and brings me back to my desktop. I click back on GalCiv and it shows me another part of the animation and... nack to desktop. Click again, does nothing, I close it and it the program does an error, I have to "End this program" so it closes. I have WinXP, Athlon 700, 256 SDRAM, 3Gig free out of 20, I downloaded GalCiv from Stardock by clicking "update" on each place (manual, BonusPack, GalCiv...). <b
I think all this depends on how you play. In MY games, the most powerful are generally the Yor...
Look at www.gamespot.com and, if you want, you may vote for GalCiv as the game you want to give you some more. :)
I made a search on eDonkey to see what was out about GalCiv and found a crack LOL GalCiv doesn't even have such protections from what i recall ;p
Well when we download from Stardock, it automatically installs... So not zip, no exe. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't need to ask.
What are the licencing that comes over MP3? Is MP3 created for pecuniary reasons or is it GPL?
Oh besides, Vorbis developers would hit me... It's .Ogg, not .OGG. So it's pronounce "Dog" without the "D" :p
.OGG are known for not being as large as .MP3 and to be of better quality for same bitrate. And .OGG is under GPL. http://www.vorbis.com/ Is there a reason why GalCiv's music is in mp3 format? Was there a problem to put it in ogg? :notsure:
