Sick. Very sick. Vasudans ftw.
That seems to add needless management, since a unit left to its own devices may not move closer to deal more damage. It's trivial to close the distance between yourself and a target.
But, it doesn't have to be trivial. What you call needles management, I call dynamism. "Dancing" units is a pretty common theme in many RTS games, it's often what separates the good players w/ micro skills from the junk players (in mp). Also, It w

IMO... increase turn rate of the LF, and remove the free Cap Ship. You really should have to research something to unlock Cap Ships. Having this huge super-beast of a ship when you are a fledgling empire with one world under your belt (even if the TEC is feeding you schematics and what not) is sort of silly (especially since you can have a cap ship BEFORE a heavy cruiser - makes NO sense). This would make the opening stages of the game just as exciting as the rest of the game
The best defense is to not commit to any one particular ship type. Bring a balanced fleet. At the point you've reached, there is no "practical" option, it will be a fair pain in the ass to readjust - the question now is one of speed. You might have to stop your offensive to adjust (I'm sure your defenses can handle their rather inflexable fleets while you rebuild), giving them some breathing room that you don't want to give them - which means their strat payed off. Your arguments are rather vague, and you give no proofs to any of your statements. This comes off as a whine thread, more than a legitimate complaint thread. Elaborate if you want to make your points!
Because the TEC fighters look dope.
It seems to me that where the tale is really told... is in the statistics screen. Cykur had an actions rate of 400. Second place was at 60. Which seems disturbingly odd... either the statistics screen is for some reason wrong, or everyone else was really slow. Actions has been broken for a while. Also, when you watch a replay, I think it shows YOU'RE actions, not the original ones,
Edited for resolution.
Thanks, Sza! I'll check it out... I could never bring myself to even touch the cgi thing that came out recently.
Wait, what? There is a good Clone Wars cartoon somewhere? What the hell? How do I find it :-P
One of my larger problems with online play, is sportsmanship. Quite frankly, it seems to be lacking across the board. Many players only care about victory, and accordingly, play to "crush" their opponents. Often times players like this will be quite rude/insulting along the way, as well. I also agree with Darvin3 a bit, from post 12. The game length is hard to manage, especially when you are playing with strangers. One good thing, you can save the game and resume it later. But again,

Jix is right, it'd screw up the Advent pretty bad (the fleet dispersal thing). If you did something like that, you'd also have to introduce an option to change the formation of your fleet (ie: position of what genre of ship goes where) - just one pre-set formation wouldn't cut it anymore. While this would make for some nice/interesting variety, it would also unfortunately fudge the balance of the game right out the window (not to mention drastically increase the need for micromanageme
Be extremely aggressive and expansionist early on in the game, because you will suffer in the mid game (your economy will lag). Don't worry if you get stretched a little too thin for a while, it's normal. Also, if you are put "on the defensive" - that's the first warning sign of impending doom. The Vasari need to stay on the offensive! Even if it means you have to bypass an enemy fleet and raid their worlds while they encroach on yours, just hold firm - they will recall to fight you!
Akkan Battlecruisers are support vessels. I don't really know what else to say... I mean... it's solo performance is pretty much irrelevent. The Akkan, like any other capship, is capable of clearing out nearby neutral asteroids and poorly defended planets. If you have progressed beyond this point, you should have a number of frigates, a second capship, and hopefully a couple of cruisers... Thus rendering the solo performance of the Akkan entirely irrelevent. TEC streng
You might be playing on an older version... try updating if so... In that case, more power to you! Good luck with it all :) -Itharus
Bit confused here... Hegemony and Clans Remnant... Star Control 3 and Mechwarrior? Are you adding other fictions' races into a SINS mod, or are you developing something new here that just shares some names? Not trying to sound nasty, just curious as to how it's going down. Models look great, btw. -Itharus
I must be the only person on these forums who doesn't think that any capital ship is over powered. Why the hell would you fight a superior opponent with equal forces, anyway? As much as I have in previous forgotten days grumbled towards CenturionJixra's elitist arse, I have to agree with him this time: "I think the goal of the game's design was to balance out the races as a whole and not necessarily the ships they have in each class of ship" That really nails it.
I find your claims highly dubious, Mooster. -Itharus
The way I see it, this can be 'fixed' pretty simply. 1) Make the missile barrage effect more obvious (or is it just my screen that makes it look like just a bunch of javelis firing?), a shinier effect would be nice.... mebbe a larger fire spurt blasting out of the launchers or something. The sooner you notice it the sooner you can stop it, so less beaten people whining. 2) Buff the Vasari Marauder's combat abilities so that you aren't shooting yourself in the foot taking one e
Killer gallery you have going on there at Deviant Art. The Tau ones are awesome; it's always great to meet another 40K fan! That said, your pitiful little firewarrior will be nothing more than a blood stain upon the arena floor come the next exhibition of my Archon's pet Wych Cult. :-P Keep up the killer art, man! -Itharus
Bro, I think if you mess with the mass settings for ships, it just makes them turn/accelerate/decelerate differently.
