Not really... Tbh, the big bright light going back and forth around the equator of the Advent Star Base makes me think of the Cylons (their stupid little red eye thing [e digicons]:cylon:[/e] ). Although, I suppose I can see how you would come to the above conclusion, as both the Cylon Baseship and the Vasari Orkulus sort of look like a big Star of David from the top. -Itharus

In that case, IgnusDei, killer job! I'm glad they let you post things around... because it seems that far too often the artists who come up with the ideas that get modeled into the game don't get enough credit for their work, because peeps are too busy congratulating the people who put the models into the game instead of the creative mind(s) that made it possible :(. I'm curious... did you do the artwork for the people (the avatars you can select when you set up a character fo

To be honest... the research on the Vasari dreadnaught that increases the amount of damage done to structures is pretty pimp now - because guess what? It affects structures - AND star bases [e digicons]:O[/e] (and for that matter it's actually working now, lol)! So no, you don't need an Orkulus on assault... but they really go help quite a lot in the end game if you can get one set up. It allows you to have far more survivability in an extended meat-grinder like assault (fuc

You can just put the star base in the best position relative to the most likely direction of attack from incoming phase lanes... and then scootch the star base a little closer to the PLANET than you would think you probably should - and then it can defend the planet QUITE well. Especially when you support it with a good mix of tactical structures, and are ready to call in a fleet when needed. Further more, you can deploy mines - intelligently - that will, as someone mentioned be

Also, don't be afraid to spam them around! Yes, each extractor can only be hit by three refineries, but there's no reason not to make sure that each extractor you have can get this coverage. When you have solid refinery coverage, the little .4 ticks REALLY add up! Especially late game when you have horrid upkeep values. (For TEC and Vasari Refineries) -Itharus

I don't know what to say to that Steve. I fired the Kostura, watched it traverse the map... scrolled over to my Starbase, popped the ability (SPS) as soon as it was done upgrading to it, watched the Kostura shot impact the world about 4 seconds after that... scrolled back to the starbase and told my fleet to ship out about 6 seconds after the kostura shot hit (so we're talking 10 seconds after the impact)... and it gave me the aforementioned ass-backwards flightpath. I tried re-clicki

Nice artwork, I wish there were more floating around. I always love the Vasari pieces ^_^. IgnusDei, I'm curious, who are you in relation to the artwork? Are you the artist? A IC team member? What? I just want to know, so I know which props to give ;) And the big turrets on the TEC Starbase being Rail Guns makes way more sense (and looks more appropriate) than them being Beam Cannons - by far! And it's friggin' killer finally knowing what the big ass pod under the Vasari SB's

Hello all, I've noticed recently while playing some games of Entrenchment (at latest patch), that there's a problem with the Phase Stabilizer ability of the Orkulus Starbases as it concerns LEAVING the (SB stabilized) system to another stabilized node. The problem is: While you CAN leave from any world with a Phase Stabilizer (tactical) TO any starbase using the stabilize phase space ability.... you CAN NOT LEAVE a grav well where an Orkulus is using stabilize phase spac
It's not very realistic (why would an annihilated and unpopulated planet care about culture?), but it's a nice way of slowing down an advance into an enemy stronghold.
Sure it is. Instead of thinking "unpopulated" think "taxation and other governmental infrastructures annihilated". Those population points aren't really people (although the population are figured into things in terms of potential), it's more

I'm digging what Deflagratio is saying. Trade should have some additional benefits other than just credits. Infact, all of his ideas are pretty good, but they need some flavor rubbed on them to ensure that it's unique for each of the races, but still balanced... could be difficult though, keeping balance with that - as the TEC already has a pretty big advantage on the trade front. +1 Karma, bro.

Hhhmm. I like Medieval 2: Total War... When it's all patched up and the difficulty is set to hard or above the game is pretty sweet. The only mod I use is the Kingdoms Retrofit Mod for when I want to play 'normal' M2TW, Kingdoms I leave just patched up, no mods. All I can reccomend is that you guys turn the difficulty up? Also, try not to be a 'save game monkey'. Go ahead, accept some failed assassinations, and never auto-resolve a battle, no matter how one sided - and stand by the re

Personally I think that it's a pity that Fleet Supply (or whatever the hell it's called) doesn't behave sort of like research stations... Ie: If you have maxxed supply, it hits you for the full upkeep... but if you are suddenly reduced to less than the minimum supply of a bracket, it would scale back your upkeep %age to the appropriate bracket... and then just rev it up a notch to the appropriate bracket when you have enough ships to get back into the higher brackets. Would ma

Yeah, you can get a prepaid visa card at Wal-Mart. They charge about 4-9 dollars (depends on what version you get) to activate it and what not. And yes, it's reloadable... but be prepared to wait about 5-10 minutes because half the cashiers at wal-mart don't know how to load the damn things.

I think the Vasari starbase looks fine... Except for that little empty space between the ball and the rest of it... It really needs some sort of particle effect or something... or maybe just the missing segment of hull, because it just seems... silly, somehow. Although I suppose if you look closely on the Vasari Hangars, they have non-connected pieces too. Oh, and what IS that ball on the bottom? What's it supposed to be? Is it the engines or something? And props to th

Wait... Dawn of War 2 forces you to install the Steam Client... and use it... just to PLAY? That is fundamentally freaking wrong. This is like some kind of screwed up video game totalitarianism bullshit right here. Guess I won't ever be playing DoW2, which is a shame, since I'm a fan of WH40K (the tabletop game) and have all of the previous DoW games. Needing another program (such as Impulse, heh...) to access the patches and what not, is one thing - and I can accept g

You can buy it in a box, right? I thought Steam was just for digital distribution shit.

I don't get it. Just play.... EVE Online? You can already amass fleets and do battle with eachother... this makes no sense. Unless... the people supporting this are incapable of founding a corporation that has a lifespan of more than two weeks. Burn!
