This would also allow for the implementation of siege weapons. Either as a means of reducing the fortification value such that the units in the city can be attacked (if an actual siege system is implemented, per se), or the construction of siege weapons used to assault the defenders (ie, it takes 3 turns to build siege weapons when attacking a city (once the appropriate research is completed)). On a related note. Another method of making attacking cities mor

I'll second the suggestion for considering putting the dynasty system back into the game. I though this was a really great idea, and was disappointed that it never worked very well in WOM. Cheers, -tid242

There is no indication that the WOM tree will be worked on or updated. FE is the new game and further expansions will likely be solely for FE, or standalone. FE is a much more enjoyable game than WOM was to play. You wouldn't know it from the descriptions of the game or screen shots, but WOM's elements never really came together and it leaves the game with a slightly unsatisfying dynamic. FE has been a much tighter build and while WOM did not have the replayabi

there are a couple of other threads on this. If it produces a dump or is reproducible from a save game, the team wants to know about it. Thus far (to the best of my knowledge) this issue hasn't been tracked down... cheers, -tid242
They are not back, they just never went away.
Agreed. I've had one C++ error, and one BSOD forcing a hard restart since 0.96. No dumps either time (nor a windows dump for the bsod). -tid242

Honestly guys, If you recall, the previous two mods started in the $30-40 range each, and came also as a prepackaged deal to get the original game/mods at a discount level to make the entire package in the $40 range. Rebellion is no different. People happily bought Diplomacy, or Entrenchment for $30 (each!, I bought Trinity for $30), so I honestly don't see what the complaint should be for buying Rebellion for $30 as well. The "stand alone" desig
really it seems to me the only common denominator is the zooming process.
Yea, I haven't necessarily found this, per se. It seems to be true only insofar as I find myself zooming in or out about 60% of the time while playing (the game does involve a lot of panning and zooming). Although, I don't know that I've had a crash while zoomed all the way out - not that I'm zoomed all t

Still an issue. Sorry I haven't had time to put into this game x1 week or so, but it crashed to desktop with a nebulous C++ error message and didn't leave a sins dump. this was after about 2h of play. I did turn down all of my texture/shading options to their lowest level (the ones that are available on the default vid options screen with the resolution settings and all (although my resolution was still 1920x1024). My system event viewer did log an en

I think that the pirate raids are a good "random" event. Besides, erratic human/AI behavior can be random enough (you notice the entire tech tree and strategy devoted to mitigating both of these). Cheers, -tid242

Don't be a dick. That said: I haven't played enough to know the ins and outs of strategy/tactics, but I think that people would generally need more detailed information or a game-replay to show
Re: Titans. The one thing that I may not like about titans (unsure as of yet) is that if they have to be rushed to keep you from getting crushed, then it limits one's gameplay style. They currently have enough damage and life that they can kind of run over any sort of early-game defense. I say "maybe" because I need to play more games before I come to a decision on this (I never played all that much Sins o

Re: Titans. I actually really like the titans. I used to think that cap ships were kind of lame and I'd rather have a big fleet of ships instead, then I decided that caps were a necessary evil. But I actually really like titans (or at least the TEC rebels one anyway). I think it actually looks pretty awesome and gives me the confidence to steamroll systems early. My first game with 0.90 I neglected to build a titan and then ended up losing because everyone
I'll also be sure to mess with creating squads by selecting on the empire tree as I test, and see if that can repro something.
btw, this latest crash happened while placing a hangar or something (autoplace "off"), or moving a ship or something, so I don't think that squad creation caused it. As far as I can tell it's completely random. Also, if it's a video issue, it might be useful to know t

Hehe, didn't read these forums today and the same thing after about 2.5h of continuous play. It's a MS Visual C++ "quitting in an unexpected way" that leaves no dump. Tomorrow I'll crank down some of my texture settings and see if I run into this again. As I said before, I did turn one of them up a little bit from default, so we'll see. In any event, crashing is always a good incentive to go to bed. :) &nb

Still a pertinent topic for 0.90. I've had 2 crashes to desktop both without coredumps. The first without any sort of notice, the second with the same C++ "application quite unexpected way" message. two different maps/games. Both single player, w/ 7 "hard' random AI, 1920x1024, all default conditions, everything else default, large map. The second game crashed while trying to build squads from the left side-bar menu.. &

I assume that you've seen "Game of Thrones?" - this is THE miniseries, at the moment... I'll have to check out Grimm and Terminator (the original movie was my favorite for a long time). Agree about "Firefly" - absolutely compelling. "The Wire" is perhaps the best series ever made (and it's entirely not my genre and still say this). "Rome" was a 2-season HBO miniseries that allegedly was too
