Are you forcing the Nvidia GPU via the Nvidia Control PaneL? Normally games don't see the AMD/Nvidia mobile chipsets unless they are explicitly forced via their respective tools. It likely means the game is using your Intel card, rather than your Nvidia one.
All of those fixes with so little code?
Steam does 'delta' patches now. So it only downloads the parts of the file that changed, not the entire file itself. So while the 13MB GalCiv3.exe is updated, only a small portion that changed is compressed, and transmitted to you. At which point the system re-creates the new file from the delta and the original. As an extreme example.
On a more serious note, the gc3_wipe_prefs.exe seems to 'stall' on my system? I see that process and a .tmp process from Stardock DeskScapes running. I might wait a few more minutes but I'm tempted to kill it. nm seems to have finished. though i was closing out iTunes and Word at the time. Maybe related? Maybe coincidence. Actually also IE was doing something funky on my system.... so maybe just disregard? I figured out it was

You can definitely build buildings where you want to. However, right now there are a few things that are slightly uninuitive which results in confusion 1) Yellow tiles require specific improvments to build on them (arid/swamp building improvement). So if you try to build a research building on an arid tile for the research bonus, it will 'boot you out' if you don't have that specific improvement researched. 2) There are also a few bugs with specific improv
Your driver version is veyr old for the Intel card You should go to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx Use their automated tool to get the latest Intel drivers for your laptop. The game should work on an HD3000 (I think)

Many such overlaps will be addressed in the next patch You can submit a bug report to Stardock https://forums.galciv3.com/452855/page/1/
Yeha I thought coersion2 was just kind crazy. I mean just wait for awhile then BAM suddenly 100 ships pop out of no where? That's terrifying.
Since the game is 64-bit, the game can expand to as large as however much RAM you have. The more RAM you have the more 'stuff' you can cram into the game. Want a gargantuan galaxy with 100 civs fighting it out? That's absolutely possible (though the game may run REALLY slow if you do if you don't have enough RAM). The game is basically designed for you to, in theory, expand it to as large as you could possibly want. Note that Adobe's virtual page fil

I have to admit, those lost battleships constructing a starbase is hilarious. The only thing I can think of is maybe did you 'eject' a constructor into that fleet, then move it out later? Maybe the 'construct' flag was hung into the fleet because a constructor was part of it previously?
Steam generally sends crash reports to Stardock automatically. However if you have a reproducable crash, you should submit a save and a crash dump to Stardock directly. https://forums.galciv3.com/452854/page/1/ This sticky at the bottom has instructions as to what to send, where to find it, and where to send it to. Again when doing so, definitely give as much information as possible. What were you doing? Did you c

I'd like to see some tie-in with the the Ideology tree. I think that it would make Benevolence tree a bit 'better', if it contained bonuses to reduce the penalty for extending resources to ShipYards. Like 'hey why do I need Influence I/II?' Oh wait influence means I can build my ShipYards out farther? well then that's actually something useful. Especially to counter Malevolent which has a ton of production and money bonuses. That way building out influence or c
