Eeeeh, I think mines are a greater asset than MotB, as I try never to be by myself and thus don't always need a snare, and in all honesty I find the damage component more useful than the snare. Nonetheless, I try to have both mines and MotB, though mines are a higher priority for me by far. And the shrapnel mines have a very beefy snare to them as well.

But early on, the 3 important upgrades in order of priority are: 1st building health, 1st gold, 1st xp. Other people mentioned the first two, but the experience one shouldn't be overlooked: it can make quite a bit of difference. I try to be

If you guys actually played with 3 v 3 as is intended for the map rather than 2 v 2, it would have been much more effective for the Rook to have concentrated on holding the middle since it would have left the two of you to team up on the other flags. Also, the best Rook players I'm with know when to move their tower emplacement to another flag and when to stay put. So, in the end, you're incorrect: just because the strategy wasn't effective in this particular instance doesn't

If we're talking about a "normal" game here, then holding all the flags on the map should be the #1 priority. So what if they get a few more archers and soldiers for potentially a little more XP when it increases your own war score significantly? Remember: the winner is the team that fields catapaults and giants first.

The OP is a good post but is for all new DG players, not just Regulus players. On the other hand, this is a good post for newbie Regulus players: [quote who="Busdude" reply="11" id="2190495"]I really can't stand noobs who are epic fail with snipe. Here's a tip to new players. I can't see this build being very good at the beginning or even middle of the game without any utility burst damage like mines and snipe, and how often do games really last long enough for a "stat-stomping" Regulus to get beefy enough to be effective? Well, at least you get Sniper's Scope I early on for tower destruction and MotB I for some snaring and surprise burst, but even still...

[quote who="XSive_Death" reply="17" id="2182677"]My current avenue of approach is that because the game is p2p and uses TCP/UDP as soon as you transfer to 5 other people, your ISP is flagging you as a filesharer and hitting you with a DoS attack (which then prevents you from sending any information at all, hence the spiking). May I ask a silly question? People seem to get more consistent, though still imperfect, performance with GameRanger and Hammachi than they do with Impulse. I, for instance, must still use GR since my ping is through the roof with Impulse. I'm guessing it's because my university is de-prioritizing P2P connections, though I'm then not sure why GR still functions well. Why are these 3rd party applications more succesful than the native netcode? I'm just hoping p

Last night, I was playing this extremely exciting 3 v 3 game where both sides purchased giants and catapaults nearly simultaneously: it was heading very quickly to an exciting conclusion, and honestly it wasn't clear which side was going to win. Then, suddenly, the game froze, a Desync window pops up, and the heart-wrenching announcement "A PLAYER HAS LEFT THE GAME" boomed forth from the speakers: THREE players had been kicked out. A team mate accused me of being the

I just find it amazing that game developers still obstinantly refuse to learn their lessons regarding scaling for spell casters vs. physcial damage dealers, given that this issue seems to always come up in almost every RPG-style game.

Yes, I agree that Impulse should have this. Impulse should also: 1) Be a games system purely and get rid of the stupid utility programs which no one cares about and which gives the impression of an amateurish "shareware" operation. 2) Along these lines, add more functionality which solely aids gaming, such as friends, gaming groups, etc. 3) Streamline the interface. It seems like there's like 4 or 5 different lists of the exact same games: one for upda

When it comes to 1 on 1 fights, every general has an advantage over every assasin. Assasins simply don't have the staying power that generals have due to a lack of shields and healing. It's that simple. I really don't know Sedna that well, but I could imagine a yeti build with only relatively moderate healing abilities plus monk or higher priest minions would be an absolute pain to solo for UB or any other assasin.
