K, thanks.

I must say I agree here. The audio has a ways to go and the suggestions and comparison seem valid to me. On a related note, I don't hear much, if any, sound at certain zoom levels. There is a certain zoom level where all seems quiet and a single click takes me to a higher audio volume level than I anticipate or feel comfortable with. It's a bit jarring. I would like to see the scaling of the audio level on zoom level be more smooth. I hope that makes sense!
So there's no visible setting or "rally point" line to see? It's all just implied and behind the scenes?
Forgive my ignorance, but how does the reinforcement mechanic work? I simply set a rallying point for each factory type and then manage unit movement to an established army, un-form army, re-form army, etc. Thanks.
Well, I've not played a single multiplayer game yet. I'll have to do that. I imagine life won't let me participate this particular day, though I'll be trying! Thanks.
Just to follow up, I had more time yesterday than I expected and focused on making the Easy level as do-able for me as possible. As I've said many times here, I'm lousy at these types of games but really enjoy them as do some gaming friends - who are very good at these types of games. I simply lose track of all that's going on rather quickly and can't execute on plans I come up with for just that reason. Anyway, I turned off creeps. It just takes way too long to make a
I've not played in a number of weeks. Fired it up last night. Had to turn creeps off to have more of a chance. That gave me a few more minutes of life, anyway. =) My goal's to be Easy before the weekend's over!
How does one get signed up or involved in this?
And here's the takeaway from Sweeny's op-ed piece in the Guardian which alaknebs posted for us, above: Microsoft’s intentions must be judged by Microsoft’s actions, not Microsoft’s words. Their actions speak plainly enough: they are working to turn today’s open PC ecosystem into a closed, Microsoft-controlled distribution and commerce monopoly, over time, in a series of steps of which we’re seeing the very first.
The article linked in my OP explains that their post isn't really about AOTS but what they found when trying to chase down better benchmarking and getting a better understanding of how AMD and NVIDIA are each handling DX12, etc. Here's the takeaway from that first article, IMHO: What we are seeing is the first implications of a new pipeline for graphics and compositing. WDDM 2.0 (Windows Display Driver Model) is a very big shift from what e
For anyone paying attention to this issue, there are two more pieces of news: Microsoft Comments on UWP Games and Full Screen Capability http://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/Microsoft-Comments-UWP-Games-and-Full-Screen-Capability?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter &nbs
Had a similar problem. Turns out, the northbridge was overheating from not receiving air from the stock fan now that i'm Watercooled... Rigged a small 60mm Fan with tie-wraps aimed at it and the crash problem is since long gone! Didn't knew chipsets were overheating that much... Mine is a X58 BTW!
Yep, VR & northbridge need cooling on many X58s. I'm running an i7-920 at 3.
PC Gaming Shakeup: Ashes of the Singularity, DX12 and the Microsoft Store http://www.pcper.com/reviews/General-Tech/PC-Gaming-Shakeup-Ashes-Singularity-DX12-and-Microsoft-Store "This is clearly a discussion that is just at its beginning. My gut tells me that Ashes of the Singularity is just the tip of the iceberg, even if th
If you've checked heat then try software - drivers to be exact. Check for the latest drivers from your motherboard mfr, etc. Then use the DDU ( http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html ), followed by installing the latest driver for your GPU selecting "Clean Install" in the options during installation. Good luck!
I'm looking forward to seeing benchmarks of older with newer cards, such as a GTX 670 with a GTX 980, etc.!
Thanks for all of the continued hard work!

Here's what Microsoft has to say about it: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff557408(v=vs.85).aspx Something's getting corrupt in memory. Were it me, the first thing I'd do is check with my motherboard/PC mfr to make sure I have the latest chipset, LAN, audio, etc. drivers installed. After that I'd take a har
Yep, that's odd! Good luck!
The winner of SLI/Crossfire vs. baked-in-multi-GPU DX12 will be an interesting thing to see once it's running.
Interesting. But I would guess that different GPUs, amount of video memory, etc. may find other settings are their achilles heel. And there is certainly more optimization coming to the graphics. Otherwise, were I you, I would start saving for a GPU upgrade.
While you're waiting for any other answers you might download and run DDU ( http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html ) to uninstall all traces of drivers. Then re-install the latest GPU drivers using the clean installation option.
Confirm all drivers are up to date with your PC/motherboard mfrs. Especially if you did an upgrade to Win10. then download (without installing) the latest GPU driver. After that, I would use the DDU ( http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html ) to uninstall all traces of video drivers. Once that's complete I would install the latest GPU driver selecting Clean Install
I ran the benchmark at full screen a couple of times with no issues. I cut my resolution down to 1600x900 (I think?) and ran the benchmarks - both DX11 & DX12. When complete there is no way to scroll down to click on the Finish or Return or Main Menu or whatever the name of the button is. Am I the only one? I've tried mouse scroll wheel, click and drag, right-click and drag, arrow keys, PgUp & PgDn keys...
