Awesome! If your BIOS can save copies of configurations, I'd have it make a copy. Otherwise, get some kind of document that delineates your BIOS settings that work and PRINT IT OUT for use when the PC won't even boot! [e digicons][/e] Enjoy the game, you're right!

I find the whole G-Sync setup to be loose, at best. It's hard to figure out how to set it up and harder to tell if it's working. I'm running a G-Sync monitor myself. Still unclear to me what I'm getting from it because I wasn't really having trouble with anything with my old monitor. *Shrug*

Well, the next recommendation is the old, standby, shotgun approach. And, if you did the Win10 upgrade you DEFINITELY want to doublecheck you have the latest drivers, anyway! 1) make a verified backup of your data 2) check motherboard's mfr site for latest BIOS, chipset, audio, and network drivers for your OS & install as needed 3) I'm not an AMD guy, so check on that GPU to see if it has any BIOS updates and, of course, the latest AMD driver

I posted about this in another thread and thought it might be more useful as a standalone post. Changing the channel your Router/WAP uses can give you a cleaner WiFi signal in congested areas (apartments, dorms, denser neighborhoods). If you're concerned about wireless congestion, install Acrylic's WiFi Scanner and Analyzer on a wireless PC/laptop, fire it up, and take a look! No, I'm not affiliated with them in any way: <a href="htt

I was of the impression G-Sync was something controlled by the GPU driver and monitor, without any need of per-game support. It's something set up in the nVidia Control Panel. Make sure you don't have V-Sync selected in your game's video properties, of course. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/g-sync/faq Q: Does NVIDIA G-SYNC work for all games?
Follow these steps exactly Step 1: create a T2 or T3 unit Step 2: click on the T2 or T3 unit Step 3: a the bottom of the screen there is the build UI where you can queue units. You may think this is the factory UI, but it's not. It is the reinforcement UI. Click some units to order them as reinforcements. That is literally all you have to do. Do it in a test game first and observe what happens a

A couple of thoughts: You mentioned your video card. Can you supply the details of the rest of your PC build? An error reading a texture file could be a file corruption problem. You say you've installed multiple times. Does this include "removing local content" before re-installing? Also, right-click the game in your Steam Library, select Properties and go to the Local Content tab. There, click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache. Good l

Many good points/ideas here. I must strongly agree that the right-mouse-button panning is a negative. In trying to pan I've changed move orders accidentally requiring me to move back to the last unit(s) I gave orders to and have to re-issue their move correctly. I've taken to left-clicking a clear area after giving move orders in order to de-select the unit before using the right-mouse-button to pan. Perhaps WASD or pressing and holding the mouse's scroll button? Just a couple of

I used to play SC and SC2 with friends vs. very tough AI opponents. Since, again, I suck at RTS games, I spent some time in single-player trying to optimize my early-game economy. I got it so I basically boomed out of the gate. Almost every time the AI would head for me first in order to cripple my economy. My friends would use that to their benefit, going slow and building some nasty firepower in whichever form, and chasing the AI off my back from time to time. By end-game they would have th
Based on 533Mhz ram and it being a quad, his board should be one of the earlier LGA 775 chipsets, by the time they started using 2.0, the minimum DDR3 was 800Mhz. It would have to be a non-standard memory configuration that someone filled in with much slower ram than was available. Don't under estimate the load on the CPU either, under DX11, I burn almost 50% CPU at game start, and I'm running a 250

At the end of every game I can look through the summary. Each time I do that and get through to the Turinium chart, there is no graph. I'm on Win7 which means DX11. I've seen still images or videos of games played that showed the stats so I'm wondering if it's a current issue or something unique to me? Thanks!

I'm assuming a PCI-E 2.0, that's true. AoTS is very, very GPU dependent. It's more about how much work the GPU can do than the CPU. If you can run a GTX980Ti without too much bottlenecking by the CPU and bus the game should be playable with shadows, etc. turned down/off, etc. I'm by NO MEANS saying that's a way to play the game. Just that, since you know you're investing in a new platform, you could probably get a new GPU, slam it in the current b

LOTS of games played - well, started and surrendered or quit-to-menu. But I finally was able to win on Normal! I know. Whoopee. But for me, an RTS-challenged player, it's a big deal. THANKS! [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons][/e]

You could start with a new, near-top-of-the-line GPU if you want to at least run the game until you can get all the cash together for a complete replacement. Then you can just move the new GPU to that new build. AoTS is VERY GPU dependent. So I'd reach for the stars there. And if you want to SLI wait until you get the new build put together and then get that 2nd, matching GPU. Good luck!
