In October 2197 I got the dreaded event that I had a rebellion (playing demonic, of course), and lost a large number of systems to the "Terran Theocracy". It occured to me to check how this affected my trade routes. I had 10 trade routes, all of which were from planets that had rebelled. Despite this, the domestic policy trade display listing the trade routes showed 7 of the 10 as normal, with 3 having values of N/A. Selecting each of the routes in turn showed that all of them had a value of

I'm running on a 1.2G Athlon with 768M. On a 24x24 galaxy late games really slow down for research completions, survey ship wormhole events, and whatver is going on after clicking done after a successful invasion of a system. Seems like none of those events should be video related, so it might be something else.

In addition to the Bible that the Israeli astronaut carried into orbit, he also carried a drawing of the earth as seen from the moon, drawn by a 14 year old in 1942 before he died at Auschwitz in 1944. The drawing can be seen here: http://www.yad-vashem.org.il/about_yad/press_room/press_releases/ilan_ramon.html

The poem quoted by President Reagan at the time of the Challenger disaster is still appropriate: "Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds, -and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung <

Ensign Ted, yes, in the OS/2 version, "good" events were reported by a rather attractive blonde, while "evil" events were reported by a beautiful brunette with an eyepatch. I mention this, of course, only to educate those who were never fortunate enough to experience the original game ... :)

1) On the pop-up that says a probed anomaly was a waste of time, (a) anomaly is spelled anomoly (second o should be an a), and the "reasearch" assistant should be "research". 2) The "Omni Computers" tech is spelled "Omni Compuers". 3) At March 2197 I got the event that says that there's a lot of bribery and so forth going on in the business world, and offers you the good/neutral/bad options. However, I was unable to check any of the boxes, and the "done" button didn't appear.

In the OS/2 version you could move people between planets/systems with transports (you could do it with colony ships also, but you lost the colony ship). I have to admit I haven't tried it with this version, does it not work?

Yes, that galactic recession is a real bitch. Got it in my 2nd to last game, and in my current game. But in my last game I got the galactic economic boom, and wow did that speed up development! I was already maxed out on trade routes when it hit, and had done the economic capital and most planets had done stock markets and planetary stock markets, so partway through the boom I had spending set at 100%, tax rate at 20%, and was still piling up cash like crazy. I got almost all the way to beyo

1) On the details window, above the propaganda slider, propaganda is spelled propoganda - note the second o. 2) On the planet window, the left and right arrows that cycle through the planets work just fine, but the same arrows that appear in the details window work counter intuitively. For example, in the planet window, displaying planet A, if I hit the right arrow I get planets B, then C, then D. If I then hit the left arrow I go back to C, then B, then A. But in the details window,

I've suggested before, that another alternative would be to make it so that clicking on the left and right arrows on the end of the sliders and holding down the mouse button would smoothly decrement/increment as long as you held the button down. As it is now, clicking on those arrows changes by 1 for each click, and holding the button has no effect.

I'm on Win98 SE, 1.2G Athlon, 768M RAM, Matrox G450, DirectX 8.1. I also see choppy opening, and cannot see the colony ship cut scene. I downloaded 4Z last night. That cut scene showed OK on 4D. (:(

I second this. My last turn in my latest game wasn't combat, but I had 5 constructors in the same sector and I wanted to move each of them to upgrade a starbase in the same sector. After each one, the focus jumped to the other side of the map, and I had to manually go back to my starting sector to move the next constuctor. Also, when my survey ship is on auto-survey, between each anomaly that it investigates, focus jumps back to the last ship to move. Then it goes back to the survey

In beta 4C I had a freighter that the game would not allow to conclude a new trade route. I tried moving it to 5 different systems and was unable to move it onto any of them. And I had a trade route available, I was using only 8 of the 9 I could have had. And none of the 5 would have duplicated an already existing trade route. Is there a limit to the number of trade routes that can originate at a given system? That's the only thing I can think of that might have caused it, since this was, I

While we're on the topic of colony ships, would it be possible to change the behavior of the left/right scrolling arrows so that if the mouse click is held, the number of colonists increases/decreases as long as the button is held? I had a planet with a huge population, and the smallest increment of colonists I could get was over 500M (obviously I wanted something smaller). Clicking on the arrows only changes 1 per click. Thanks.
