I was already familiar because of a geography course I took in first year university. :P
Thormodr
It would be nice to see more biomes. ^^
I concur. It always seems to be the last unit that takes the damage. The truly illogical thing is when the unit is say a magic user that is positioned in the rear of your units. So, supposedly, the enemy charges through your lines (even though they wouldn't have the movement points to do so) and hacks the magic user up a bit before getting dispatched. Something is not quite right.
Oh oh... Sounds like they'll be a real challenge. Me likee. [e digicons]:w00t:[/e]
Sounds like I will be doing another LP series on this game a lot faster than I expected!
You'll have to rename it "Let's re-play SK". [e digicons][/e]
"You may have to destroy the world to save it" Isn't that the new motto of the Republican party?
Or the Democrats. (or really any politician for that matter.) :P
Well, I was joking of course. :P I don't mind the pop up personally. :)
Quoting mqpiffle, reply 2 Gilmoy you're right, but this still doesn't solve the issue with the pop-up in the crafting screen, when you craft an item. It's pretty much useless by mid-game, and pop-ups are inherently annoying. So why have it? <
Thanks for the heads up. ATG is looking good. ^^ Beautiful map, lots of cool little things and unit stacking! Hee hee. :P
I had a pioneer all by itself defeat a horde of skeletal warriors in auto battle. :P
Glad it has been dealt with. :)
Populous was a fun game back in the day. :)
I've definitely seen the two units occupying the same square bug. Usually seems to be mounted units, IIRC.
I've even lost guys in those auto battles because of Trog Archers. Mind you, the Trog Archers have been nerfed somewhat it would seem.
I'm kind of waiting for the next beta build. I was putting Gal Civ III through the paces as well as catching up on my reading. :)
Stardrive 2 looks pretty neat. 4X with some RPG elements. Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye on that one. It'd be nice to be able to have heroes in Gal Civ III, IMHO.
I got the Gal Civ III beta and it's quite fun. Obviously it is missing a lot of features (diplomacy is quite rudimentary, not all the races are playable or as opponents and not all the victory conditions are enabled) but I found it quite an entertaining little 4X game. I didn't play much Gal Civ II so I can't really compare the two. Definitely think Gal Civ III has the potential to be an excellent game, though.
If we can, I'll try get them to do an Xmas sale of some kind. But we actually discourage people from joining army access unless they positively want e game no matter what. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Army access? Are we secretly getting conscripted? [e digicons]:omg:[/e]
OT: I had both keys, but when I tried to enter, a pop up box told me to get the keys from the lieutenants. I had to backup and try to enter again before it have me the option to "use the shadow key" I have had the same problem. I do hope they fix that annoying glitch.
Summon frog, plague of frogs and bloated toad, please. :P
ASAIK, outposts have a base attack of 1. When you upgrade them to attack 1 they get a base attack of 4. Attack 2 is 8 and attack 3 is 16.
Unrest is fine. It represents even your own people thinking of being disloyal to you as the SK's power grows stronger and stronger. Seems pretty thematic to me and the mechanic serves a useful purpose, as well.
Yay! Intelligent Vorpal Blade FTW!!! :P Also really happy to hear about the nature guardian Sovereign. I always wanted a "Druid-ey" type character in Elemental and there he/she is. [e digicons][/e] Excited to hear about the Ranger hero, as well. He sounds pretty awesome with his special ability shots. Also the Tinkererererer Sovereign with extra crafting stuff sounds like he'll/she'll be a lot of fun.
Unrest/Disloyalty, eh? I like this. The higher the doomsday counter, the more imperative it is to have allied troops as your logistics will really drop. Very good mechanic which will add even more tension to the game. (In a good way.)
Sounds like fun. Q1. Will each sovereign (when they are implemented) start off as neutral or will the Tyrant, for example, start off on the evil side of things? (ie less compassion, more merciless, etc.) Q2. Any chance on seeing intelligent weapons in the game? Like a talking vorpal blade? Q3. How about vorpal bunnies?
